Sitting in a chair with a black veil covering half of her face looking confident.despite the strange looks she was receiving from people who walked inside the coffee shop,j didn't care as she focused on the person outside through the window.
"I never expected to run into you here".a male voice says.
J turned her head from the person she was staring at to face the intruder."logan?".
"Yea". logan answered taking his seat across j."it seems that your plan has begun.you are starting to show yourself and you are already making a move".
"What can I say?".j shrugged."I can't possibly be on the hide forever,can I?".
"True".logan knew as well that no one and nothing could be hidden forever but there was a scheduled time."so am guessing that the right time that you had been waiting for is now?".
"No".j answered."if I were to wait for the right time,the evidence and the zeal would be gone.by then everyone would have forgotten about anna and I don't want that".j eyes held emotions in them although while she was speaking she was staring at the table, logan knew that she was seeing something else.
"I guess you are right". logan said."if things get prolonged for too long,it becomes a past.we shouldn't let anna end up being a past.we should find justice for her".
"Justice?".j was doubtful."do you think that will ever happen someday?.no one cares about that these days,no one cares about the truth.they just want to say something to relieve their stress".j gave logan a sad smile."only the powerful ones gets justice".
"J..."logan starts but he got cut off.
"I get discouraged sometimes".j said as her eyes left the table instead onto logan."what if anna's killer escapes punishment?.what if we don't have the enough energy to put her behind bars?.what if the court says she's underage?". she stops for a moment to wipe the tears that were threatening to fall."what do I do then?.those are the thoughts that go through my mind sometimes and it scares me to actually witness these scenes".
Logan wasn't good at comforting someone,all he could was to listen so he stayed quiet.
"But the thought of how she died an unjust death would never let me give up.i really want her killer to be punished".j said."I know that no matter what I do,I can't bring back the dead but at least putting her killer behind bars will bring solace to anna's mother".
"I have a question for you j". logan said seriously."and I hope that you will give me the right response to my question".
"Right response?".j was confused."you aren't asking me for the truth but the right response?".she then adds."why?".
"Everyone has secrets that they want to keep hidden from the world for the rest of their lives.sometimes the secrets might be mistakes, while it isn't". logan started."I am in this to know all your secrets j,i am in this because just as you I want justice for anna but we both know that it isn't an easy feat to achieve". logan was logan was for a reason."I wasn't able to bring justice for someone back then but this time I will make sure to".
"Back then?".j said as she processed his words."something similar has happened before?".
"I work close to the force so something like this isn't new". logan said and although j felt that he was hiding something she didn't probe.
Since he respected her privacy and didn't question her to tell him her secrets,she wouldn't either.
"So what is it that you want to ask me?".j asked changing the topic.
Remembering the words he said before he got lost in his emotions,he sighed."who was anna to you?".
J smiled upon hearing his question."now I get why you asked for the right response". logan didn't ask for her real identity neither did he ask who j was to anna.
"A sister".j said."she was like a family to me.i considered her as my family".j smiled in her thought as she starts to speak."she had a nice personality.when I first met her,I was scared of her because I thought she might tell someone that she saw me but then I realized that she wasn't a blabbermouth and that she didn't even know me".
"So that's why you were wary of me".logan said.
"Yes".j admitted."to be honest,am scared of meeting people because if they recognize me and somehow talk about it and it gets into the wrong ears,I would be in a dangerous position".
"If that's the case then why did you ask to meet elise?". logan asked.he had been thinking about the reason but he couldn't figure out why.
"Don't get this in the wrong way but the reason I met with elise was bcause of you".j said.
"I am the reason?". logan asked more confused.
"Yes".j nods."I have been watching you logan and I can see that you are a trustworthy person and a good person as well".
"I am?".
"I don't trust people easily but I trust you so I decided to meet with elise.i did my findings on everyone around you and got to find out about elise.although there were somethings I couldn't find as it seemed not to exist but I know that it's exist but well hidden".j said."at first I was skeptical but then I decided to meet elise after a while".
"It's not necessarily because of me". logan said.
"No.it is because of you".j argued."after our first meeting,I did a background search on you.it's because of you that I noticed elise and because I trust you,I met with elise".
"And was it worth it?". logan asked."what are your thoughts on elise?.does she seem trustworthy to you?".
"i noticed that just like me,she wants justice for anna.it's why I gave her the diary".j said.
"She has the diary now?". logan asked surprised.
"Why do you look so surprised?".j asked."I guess that she hasn't told you yet".
"Elise and I haven't seen each other since the day you texted me". logan said.
"I told not to trust anyone".j said.when she noticed logan look she adds."I figured that you might want to know what we talked about ".
"No". logan shakes his head."you shouldn't tell me.it's okay if elise decides to tell me but you shouldn't afterall I don't tell her most things we talk about".
Logan was someone who respected privacy the most.he believes in equality as well.he didn't mind if elise didn't tell him most things since he kept secrets from her,he didn't deem himself worthy of knowing.
"This is why I consider you trustworthy logan".as soon as j said this,she stood up."and to your question,I consider elise trustworthy as well".she slowly makes her way towards the door,she then adds to her words before leaving."just not as you".
