"Why did you suddenly decide to stroll?".asked logan as he walked with elise.it wasn't as if he was unwilling,he was just curious to know the reason.
The cool breeze blew elise's hair bristly while they were walking."I just needed to sort out my thoughts.there's too much in there".she points to her head as she spoke the last part.
"I see". nodded logan as they walked."I understand you feeling this way after all there's really so much going on".
Elise nods not saying anything but then she remembered a question that she had been wanting to ask."do you remember the time that I first told you that I am the dectetive in charge of anna's case?".
"Yea,I remember".nods logan.he wasn't sure that he could forget that day especially since the two of them fought that same day."why do you ask?".
"I am just curious about your reason for not wanting me to take the case".elise stops walking suddenly and turned to logan with all seriousness."why did you not want me to investigate?".
Logan couldn't say he was surprised as he saw the conversation coming but he sure wasn't prepared infact he could never be prepared.
"Why aren't you speaking?". elise asked seeing as the male kept quiet."is my question too difficult for you to answer?. seeing as he still didn't speak,she added to her words."besides I am sure that you already expected me to ask".
"I know".was all he said.his eyes scanned the area they currently were for a space to seat.when he found one he spoke again."let's seat there".he said pointing so elise could see.
Elise wasn't a fool,she could guess why he wants them to seat so she followed him quietly.
As soon as the two sat down logan immediately start to speak."as you already know,I had already been briefed on the case before it was brought down to your awareness".
"The reason for that was so I could investigate on my own and whatever I found out,I report to them".
Elise nodded but she had no idea how his words was related to her question."hmm".
"You might not know this but anna's case grabbed the attention of almost everyone in the committee.so everyone was cautious towards each other and each side spied on the other which means that we were also watched".
"Why is that?.what is it about anna's case that has got everyone interested?".asked elise frowning."no one is being helpful and yet they keep tabs on me".
"Because anna's case isn't just an ordinary murder case.it involves a of underground dealings which the children of the committee are in".
"Being aware of all this made me scared when you told me you were in charge of the case and then when I confronted them to ask why the case was given to you,what I heard made me more scared".logan could still remember how he felt that day.
"What was the reason?". asked elise in a quiet tone as if she didn't want to know.
"So that I could hinder you if I noticed that you were getting forward in the case". said logan."in other words,I was asked to watch you".
"They know our relationship status right?". elise asked pointing in between them.
"They surely do". said logan.
"Then why?".
"It's like a reminder for us to act wisely besides it males it easy for them to control us". said logan.
"Hah". scoffs elise."I am not someone that can be controlled ".
"I am sure they must have known that by now". said logan.he then adds."the case is a dangerous one because it involves a lot of dirty dealings and I didn't want you to get caught up in the mess so it's natural that I was against the idea back then especially after I know that it's not an ordinary murder case".
"Does j know about this?".asked elise.
"I am sure she does". answered logan."I can remember that she once told me that she did her own share of investigating before she came to meet me".
"I understand".nods elise."what about now?.are you still against the idea?".
"Yea". answered logan honestly."but there's nothing I can do about it,you are already involved".no matter how much he hated the idea it couldn't be helped as they had already gotten far involved in the case.
"I see". said elise.
Logan glanced at the female sitting beside him briefly."you can see the way blaire's death was concluded suicide and how it was closed quickly even though it's related to anna's case".
"It's because we have no solid proof yet which makes me wonder at times what it is we are missing". said elise.
"What about the diary j gave you?.did you find anything out from it?".asked logan.
"No".elise said shaking her head."I haven't gotten the chance to read it yet.i guess I should this night".
"Okay". said logan.his eyes scanned the area briefly before he stood up."let's get back inside".
