"Why did you want to see me?". elise said as she handed a cup of coffee to cole.
She wasn't expecting to see him,he suddenly called asking for an audience.
"I suspect lily".cole said immediately going straight to the point.
"Why?".elise was surprised,she couldn't help but ask him his reasons."why are you suddenly telling that you suspect her?".
"I can't help but notice things that I didn't notice before". Cole said."I went to anna's home,while I was in her room,I saw the picture they took together ".
"What picture?".elise asked."anna and who were in the picture?".
"Lily".cole answered.
"And?".elise urged for him to continue talking."what is wrong about the picture?"
"She never said that they were friends".cole said."she said she didn't know anna that well.she said they were more like strangers.how could two strangers take a picture together?".
"Do you have the picture with you?".elise asked."can I see the picture?"
"I have it but it is not with me right now ".cole said."I didn't bring it with me".
"Alright".elise was disappointed.she had hit rock bottom with the investigation as she was going nowhere.she needed anything new and big to keep the investigation going otherwise it would be closed."can you bring it for me to see?or maybe screenshot it for me to see?. whichever one works for you".
"Okay".cole answered.
"So let's go back to the topic".elise said."is the reason why you suspect her because of the picture?".
Cole didn't say anything.to be honest he can't really say why he was supicious of lily.it wasn't just because of the picture."maybe?".
"Brings me back to my first question".elise said."why do you suspect lily?.it shouldn't just be because of a picture".
"I don't know".
"Listen".elise said."these days teenage girls like to be secretive.a girl like lily with the background she has wouldn't want people to know her friendship with a girl like anna".
"Why is that?".cole didn't understand.
"Usually only the one involved would know why".elise said."only lily knows the reason".
"God".cole sighs as he bows his head down."why is everything so complicated?".
"Don't worry too much about this".elise pats his shoulder gently."try to focus on your studies.i promise to solve this".
Cole nodded."thank you miss elise".he stood up proceeding to leave."I should get back.i will send the screenshot to you".
"No problem".elise said."focus on your studies cole.don't think too much".
Cole nodded before taking his leave.elise didn't watch as he leaves instead she turned back to her work.*knocks*
"yes?.who is it?".elise said not looking up.she didn't wait for a response as she speaks."come in".
The door opened in which someone entered the office."I figured that I should come to you".
Immediately elise froze as she heard his voice.that voice is a voice she would recognize anywhere no matter the circumstances.
"Logan?".she stopped what she was doing and raised her staring at the male in shock.she didn't expect him to come see her in the office."why are you here?".
"you didn't go home.you have been avoiding me". logan sighed."and If I don't do anything,it might get worse".
Elise didn't go home ever since their last talk.she was avoiding him and it hurts him.she never went home for anything,he wondered when she took some clothes and how she ate.
"I know that I am the one at fault but you should at least listen to what I have to say". logan stood not wanting to sit unless she told him to but he didn't think she was going to say that.
"I wasn't avoiding you".it was a lie.she knew that,he did too."I have been busy these days.i didn't have time to go home".she continued to make excuses.
"I called kelly".any attempt for excuses immediately went down as elise because tongue tied.
"Have you been keeping tabs on me?".elise asked after his words sink in her brain."have you?".
It was logan's turn to be mute.he couldn't afford to admit it as she would get more angrier at him but he couldn't lie either.if she found out about it later, things would turn out worse.
"What?".elise scoffed."you have got nothing to say now?".she wasn't that surprised,she just reacted that way to change the topic which she was glad about.
"I am sorry". logan bowed his head as he admits it."I was worried about you"
"Why?".elise asked her voice shaken.all her anger was dissipating as she watched logan.she was feeling sad for him."why did you keep tabs on me?.why were you worried?".
"I..I was worried about you". logan repeated his words answering her first question."because I care about you.i don't want any bad to happen to you".that was answer to her second question.
He wouldn't be able to take it if any harm came to her.he would blame himself for not being there for her.he wanted her to be protected even if he wasn't beside her.
He at least was a bit relieved when he had someone watch her for him.he didn't want her to be alone,he didn't allow her to be alone,he couldn't risk it.he couldn't risk her safety.
"What do you want me to do?".elise asked no longer putting up a strong facade.she was done with it."if you were me,what would you do?".
"Whatever it is that you do,I won't blame you for it". logan said.he had a faint idea of what she would say.
"Why do I feel like you know what is on my mind?".elise asked."are you not going to stop me?".
"it's your decision.you have your mind made up already". logan said."can I change it?".
"you can".elise answered."you know how to but you aren't going to".they both knew each other character well.
"When will you tell me truth logan?".elise asked."am I supposed to figure out everything myself?.why won't you tell me the things you know.and don't you fucking tell me that it's for my good.i don't want to hear that".
"Somethings are better kept a secret". logan said.
"I am moving out until you are ready to give me answers".she said with an air of finality.
