Chapter 51 Soul Taken

*Vienna's P.O.V.*
We both stood up and dusted off our clothes. Standing a few feet apart, we eyed each other closely and as if our minds are at sync, we ran towards each other. She delivered a sraight punch on my face which I swiftly dodged, releasing a job of my own which she quickly caught. We smiled at each other and let go, attacking once more. Her slick moves reminded me o her abilities as a royal fighter witch. I also recalled my first encounter with this girl and I have to say, she’s something and a great help in keeping my mid off of thing to worry about. She suddenly grabbed my hand tugged me down with her and we rolled down a downslope land, wrestling with each other for awhile with her above me. She pinned my limbs and smiled victoriously at me. I rolled my eyes at her, flashin it purple, I blew on her face and she was ripped off me by my wind manipulation and immediately took the opportunity to get up.
She stood up as well, “So guess we gotta use some powers here eh?” she exclaimed and her eyes flashed purple, she swirled her palms and formed a little ball of water and launched them my way. I dodged them while throwing my own wind balls at her. At some points our balls of energy clashed and sparks of electric kind of current occurred from it. I noticed her stand a little firmer and prepared myself for what she’ll do next. Molly gathered up a huge amount of energy and a huge ball of water appeared before her. I let my left foot fall behind me as I too, gathered up as much air as I could to match hers. Launching forward she fired her waters at me and I did the same with my winds. Blues and grays clashed forming a wonderful spark at the middle as we tried to overpower each other.
I for sure, am not giving it everything I have but I have to say, Molly is such a powerful opponent. “Let’s make fireworks! Or water works!” she called out on the other end and we directed our powers upward at the same time, releasing all of them.
We giggled at the sight of the ‘waterworks’ and the sprinkle of it them in our faces. “Nice match.” I complimented when the little sprinkle subsided.
“Nah, that did warm me up a bit. You know, hand to hand combats are always different from eh, power matches.” she pointed out.
I nodded, looking up the sun that’s high above the sky now. “I agree. But we missed lunch.” we laughed and made our way back to the house.
“Where were you guys?” Mark who was standing near the porch asked as we approached.
“Just a stroll in the woods.” Molly shrugged an answer and the three of us went inside the house. Everyone’s scattered all around the house doing their own things. I went straight to my room, using a lot of my powers is just so tiring. I feel the energy inside me draining and I plopped down the bed, not even bothering to change my clothes.
Some time during my sleep, something bothered me. The air around me seems to grow heavy and hot. I kept shifting in the bed but I can’t quite wake up. I just sighed and tried to dose back to my sleep. However, doing that seems to be really challenging. So my mind is concios but my eyes won’t open. My heart started accelerating, something wrong is happening to me. Did somebody cast a spell on me? Nah, maybe I’m just really tired from using all those energy. Suddenly I feel myself being sucked by a pillow soft melody, the air around started going back to normal and I found myself sound asleep again.

*Brooklyn's P.O.V.*
“Hey man, where were you? Dinner’s already in the kitchen, just saying.” Devon said as I entered the house after my long walk in the city.
‘Thanks.” I said and headed that way. I got some steak and munched on it.
“Hello Gibson.” I turned as I heard a familiar soft voice and saw Ariella taking a seat beside me. She still looks kind of out of shape but at least she’s conscious now.
“Hey Ari. It’s nice to know you’re already awake.” I said with a genuine smile. It is such a good news having her wake up from that semi comma after she saved Vienna.
“I guess, do tell me, what happened while I was out?” she asked.
‘Didn’t Vienna tell you already?” I mean she doesn’t have a reason to not tell her mother everything that happened.
She smiled. “When I awoke, I asked for her and Divine said my precious gem is fast asleep. I went to your room and saw her sleeping peacefully, I don’t have the heart to wake her up, she looks really tired.”
“Oh, I guess it would be better if you hear everythng from her.” I simply said and was about to excuse myself but she placed a hand in my arm.
“Come on Brook, you are her mate. And I’m just so anxious about the happenings around here while I was in comma, she won’t mind if you’ll be the one to tell me.” she pleaded and I cringed at the mention of me being Vienna’s mate, we’re in a complicated situation right now. But the pleading in Ariella’s eyes made me sigh in defeat.
As she requested, I narrated to her what happened, starting from the time the royals attacked the Paranormal Council’s base, Vienna and I being invited in the royal castle in Donegal, Voughn Fiel declaring Vienna’s identity, the commotion that happened there, the fire. At this point, Ariella has tears streaming down her cheeks after learning about Vienna, the healer witch’s death on that fire. I also told her about Vienna and Marcos’ visit to their aunt and how the royal siblings are on our side now, until, I hesitated.
“And what Brook? Please tell me.” she encouraged when I halted on the part where Vienna and I had a fight and all.
I sighed, I might as well tell her and seek her advise. “I just don’t know if Vienna would ever choose what we have over all this.” I stated.
“Oh dear, my daughter loves you, everyone with eyes could tell. I could tell, there had been so many times that she actually choose you, you know. Remember that time in London when she fought some cases with you? Or well, when she helped you solve some of those cases? How about when she saved you from a spider bite? She was really worried and of course when she offered her blood when you were bitten by a vampire, the very thing that bonded the both of you. She clearly choose you during those.” her words took me back to memory lane and mentally slaped myself, she does have a point on that.
“That was before.” I tried to argue.
Ariella chuckled that made me look at her. “Are you kidding me? Now she has more of a reason to choose you after all that you’ve been through.’
‘And if she doesn’t?” I asked.
“Oh she will, just believe.”
“I think so…” I traled off.
She sighed. “We are going through a lot these days, it wouldn’t really help if you guys would have a little quarrel.” she pointed out that line I already know but kept on denying this whole time.
“Okay, okay. I have to retire for the night. You need to rest too.” I said, standing up, I realized we’ve been talking here for over two hours.
“Yes of course. One more thing brook, when Vienna wakes up, please send her to me. I, uhh, wouldn’t want to disturb your umm, make up moment,” she chuckled at that and I can’t help the blood rush to my cheeks at what she implied, I mean, man she’s Vienna’s mother! “but I do miss my daughter.”
“Sure.” I just nodded and walked my way to our room. When I entered, I took a deep breath at the sight of Vienna sleeping peacefully with the light from the moon bathing her beautiful figure. She looks a lot more beautiful this way. She seems to be free, free from worry and stress from everything that’s going on.
I sat on the edge of the bed and caressed her soft hair, I dipped down and kissed her forehead. “Hey baby. I’m sorry, I really am. Please forgive me…” I trailed off even if she can’t hear me, or maybe she can?
I saw her smile in her sleep. Slipping in the covers with her, I pulled her close to me. She cuddled up to me and my heart fluttered at that. I miss her. Eventually, I fell asleep too.
After a tranquil sleep, the sun rays from the window woke me up. Opening my eyes, I smiled when I saw our tangled limbs. My mate stll have that peaceful look on her sleeping face so I decided to stay in bed for awhile and wait for her to wake up. After a few minutes of just holding her, I got my phone from the side table. The time reads 9:27 A.M. here in Ireland. Vienna rarely overslept. I sighed, I really need to relieve myself now, so I untangled myself from her and got off the bed to go to the bathroom.
I sat on the edge of the bed again, waiting for her to wake up. I heard a knock on the door. “Yes?” I asked as I saw Ariella outside, holding a breakfast tray.
“Good morning to you too. You’re unfair, you didn’t send her to me.” she sai as she went inside and placed th tray on the bedside table.
“She haven’t woke up just yet.” I said.
“She must really be tired? Or not.” she said inspecting her daughter.
“By that you mean?” I asked.
“There’s something wrong, but I don’t know. Who was with her yesterday?” she inquired.
“We can ask the others.” I suggested. I leaned down and kiss Vienna’s forehead before leaving with Ariella downstairs.
Divine and Diana are in the kitchen along with some others, preparing for breakfast, Marcos an Mark camein and sit with us in the table.
“Good morning, haven’t seen Vienna since yesterday’s breakfast. May I talk to her?” Marcos asked.
“Strangely, she hasn’t been up since yesterday afternoon.” Ariella provided.
“She was with Molly the whole morning, I saw them come up here.” Mark butted in.
“Yes, Vienna was with me, why?” I turned to see Molly get in the kitchen, greeting everyone in the room.
“She hasn’t been up since you two arrived.” Marcos said, looking at his sister accusingly.
“Oh, I didn’t do anything, even if you search my mind.” she retorted.
There must be some other reason why Vienna is still asleep. Molly told us about their practice match, however, we don’t think that could be reason enough.
“Bring me to her.” Marcos said and hs siblings who all beard our conversation as they arrived in the kitchen came along. Marcos looked at Vienna with worry and his eyes flashed purple, he must be trying to will her to wake up, surely he can do that. But even that didn’t work.
“Let me try.” Marissa the healer witch among the siblings offered. Her brother stepped aside and let her hold my mate’s hand. Her eyes turned purple for a few minutes and, “coeatalus” fell on her lips.
Ariella gasped. Not understanding what that exactly means, I turned to her with raised eyebrows. “Somebody has taken her soul.” she voiced out.
Damn! “Who would do that?” I growled at the information.
“There would be a lot of creatures who would want to do that, now that they probably know her status but,” Marcos said looking each of us in the eye. “Only one has the ability to do so.”
The witch king. Such sorcery only those with great power can execute. They’re already starting it. Their wanting to take Vienna and use her as weapon.
“What do we do about this?”
