Ven I let go of my father's hand as soon as we were out of the tunnel and marched my way out of the training room ahead. I actually planned to ditch the infirmary and go straight to my room however Alpha Archer was waiting just outside the building and he immediately approached me. Damn him! "Is he already in there?" He started off and I just gave him a nod. "Come on then, let's get you to the infirmary." He said, placing a hand behind my back to lead me there. I didn't protest but I didn't feel comfortable with his touch. "Ven! Thank goodness you are already found! We we're worried sick! What happened?" Ella, the daughter of our pack doctor and a close friend of mine asked as she wrapped me in a bear hug. And then her eyes landed on Alpha Archer beside me and they widened. "Alpha." She greeted before giving me a suggestive look which I immediately dismissed. Yes Ella knows about my crush on Archer when we were still in high school and maybe thought that this is a chance on romance for us but she's completely wrong. It got me thinking though, Archer already knew me all those years ago and he wasn't even the least bit interested in me back then, even if my friends and other students made it obvious that I had a crush on him, so why is he suddenly so interested now? I mean, he did lead the search team to look for me, didn't he? Meaning, he compromised his other alpha duties to go to my rescue. Why would he though? Unless... My train of thoughts got interrupted when Ella's mom approached us. "Ven honey, I'm glad you're safe. Come on, let me see if you need any treatment." She said. "Aside from physical check up, can you also do a sorcery diagnosis of her madam?" Alpha Archer suggested and I rolled my eyes at him. Does he really believe that I'm hexed? "Yes Alpha." Mrs. Samson, Ella's mom said as she took my hand and lead me to the clinic. She closed the door and made me sat on the chair. "Mind telling me what happened honey?" She asked. "I was kidnapped and got caught in a magical storm." I answered briefly. "Okay then, let's get you checked. Lay down please." I laid down on the whole body X-ray machine, first on my back, and then on my stomach. She then lets me wait for a while as she gathered the data from the machine and project it in her computer. "So far nothing broken, just a few bruises." She smiled. "Yeah, we encountered a few fights but I was barely even scratched. My kidnapper took good care of me." I chuckled and she did too. "It's a good thing he didn't torture you or something." She stated. "Please, he even saved my life." I said, my mind wandering back to Geo, worried they would do something bad to him. "Why would he kidnap you if he had no intention of harming you?" She asked and I chose not to answer, she doesn't need to know. "Sorry for asking hon. Here, I'll hand you a copy of the results just in case. It also has my signature on it." She said, handing me an envelope. "Thank you." I said. I may need this as proof during Geo's trial. "You're welcome. Now would you mind if we move into the other room so we can run tests regarding sorcery? I mean, you were caught in a magical storm after all." She motioned for me to follow her and we entered a room adjacent to the clinic and this room looks quite rustic with pots and cauldrons all over the place. "Sit down." I sat on a wooden chair and watched her put some water in a cauldron, she then opened a cabinet that contains a lot of potions and grabbed a black and purple one. She poured a good amount of each into the water and stirred the mixture using a wooden spatula. "Can you give me a strand of your hair hon?" I leisurely pulled two and handed it to her. She placed my blonde locks into the mixture and started chanting. I don't understand it because she's using the language of the ancestors and just by one phrase, the cauldron lit up, the light changed color as she went on and then disappeared when she stopped. "Look." She pointed. I looked at the mixture and saw clear water with my hair floating on. "I thought you placed something black and purple there, how did the water cleared up?" I curiously asked. "That's because you're not hexed or anything." She chuckled. "I know, it was just silly of them to think that I was hexed." I sighed. "Here, this is your copy of the findings. Keep it to yourself and give these to them." She said, handing me another envelope. "Thank you." We went back to the clinic and I checked the contents of the envelopes to see if they are the same, and when I'm satisfied, I put them back in. Mrs. Samson just smiled at me before accompanying me out of the clinic. "How is she?" Alpha Archer asked as soon as he saw us. Man is he impatient! "She's perfectly fine, not injured, and not hexed." Mrs. Samson provided as I handed him one of the envelopes. He scanned its contents and then looked at us skeptically. "What now Alpha Archer? Do you want her to run the test in front of you?" I taunted, seeing the doubt in his eyes. "No need. I trust that your services are okay." He said and I rolled my eyes at that. Whatever floats his boat. "Let's get you back to your chambers." He said and I just waved goodbye to Ella and her mom, not minding the excitement in my friend's eyes because I have more important matters to handle than Alpha Archer's sudden concern for my safety. He accompanied me into my room and when we reached the top floor of the packhouse, I checked the other two rooms and found them empty. "Your father is taking care of some paperwork while your brother is still away on that alliance training." Alpha Archer provided. "Thank you. You may join my father now Alpha Archer, I'll be fine." I said dismissively and didn't wait for his response as I entered my room and slammed the door shut. I laid in bed for a while, listening to Archer send some guards to stay outside my door before finally leaving. Thank goodness! Using my werewolf abilities, I mind-linked one of our omegas and my personal maid Cynthia. "Hey girl, can you please make me dinner, I'm starving. Thanks!" "What do you want for dinner Ms.? There's beef steak and fried chicken here." She answered almost immediately. "Can you give me two of each? Just place the other set in a box, I'll probably have it later on for a midnight snack." I responded. "Okay, served with wheat bread and lemonade?" "Yes please!" I enthusiastically answered. Damn I haven't had good food since Geo took me. All we ever ate were berries. Cynthia would still be preparing by now so I decided to hop into the shower and take a nice, long, and relaxing one. After that, I changed into some joggers and a fitted shirt, my kind of comfortable outfit. "Ms. Ven?" Cynthia called out from outside my door a few minutes later and I opened it. "Sorry for the delay, we ran out of cooked ones since we had visitors so I had to cook." She explained. "It's alright. I just got out of the shower anyway. " I said, ushering her inside. "I brought extra jugs of water too." She added and I smiled. She knows exactly what I need. "Thanks." I said as she placed everything on the table. "You're dismissed for the night. Take some rest." "Thank you Ms., you too. You need it, after everything that happened." She responded and I just smiled, closing the door and then locking it from the inside when she finally got out. I sat in front of the delicious food and started digging in just to refill the lost energy from all those encounters. After eating, I sat on my rocking chair and probably dosed off because when I woke up, the clock reads 11:45 pm. I jumped out of my rocking chair and hurriedly packed the other set of food that I asked Cynthia to put in a box and stuff it in my sealed backpack along with the bottled lemon juice and water. And then I went into my closet and opened a hidden door behind my dresses. I took a lamp and navigated the dark and narrow passage way as stealth as a cat until I managed to get out of the house. Hah! Of course I know our house well, and almost all of the buildings in our pack. I also happen to know that there's another way into the dungeons and that's exactly where I'm headed right now. After avoiding all of the patrols, don't ask me how, I'm just really used to this endeavor by now, I opened a trap door covered with leaves and twigs and then jumped into another narrow tunnel that eventually led to the cells. "Ms. Ven?" A guard exclaimed when he saw me and I just placed a finger over my lips. "Don't tell my father. I'll pay you." I simply said and he just slowly nodded. I know that he's the only one patrolling inside the dungeon at this hour because the others are still eating and resting for a while, that's why I chose to sneak in confidently. Without wasting any more of my time, I ran into Geo's cell and my heart clenched at the sight before me. ----------
