Prieto thought about the money he kept in his bag, anyway he remembered his bag had a lock. He then tried to lock the zippers, before the three of them decided taking a walk outside, for something to eat or drink. Prieto made his way outside the hall while the two brother, still trying to sort themselves out.
They followed after Prieto, while they both were contemplating on their expenditures. Prieto looked around the premises of the camp ground and discovered, that the whole premises was fenced round. Heavy halogen light were beaming through every corners, to ensure safety. Luck and Larry were both coming behind, as Prieto turned to the refreshments spot for some food and drink. At the spot were other corpers, some were in there decorum uniforms. Young ladies and guys, Prieto spotted three beautiful ladies right there, who were conversating with themselves, while drinking on soft coca cola bottle.
They were talking and giggling, Prieto was famished at that time so he first approached the seller, to make an order in whatever they have on ground he could eat. "Good evening", pls what do you have that we can eat here pls?", Prieto questioned the seller. "We have White rice, jollof rice and fried with spaghetti", she answered. That's great! Prieto responded. He thought there was no way they could get a proper food, except soft drinks and snacks. When he discovered, that there was a possibility of eating a proper food in the premises, Prieto was equally excited and happy. As he stood contemplating whether to eat fried or jollof rice, Larry and Lucky came to where he was looking at the delicacy in front of them.
Prieto said "guys are you not eating something?", or you just want to stand there and look?", questioning the two brothers. Larry said, "brother not that we don't want to eat, but our budget is in check". Lucky added, "we don't have enough funds we came to the camp with, infact we are still expecting our gaurdian, to send us money he promised to send, once we get to the camp. 'Back there in the hall, when you saw the two of us coming from your behind, we were trying to call our gaurdian, that we have already arrived at the camp, that he can go ahead and send us the money". Lucky said. Prieto interrupted, " Okay! I can help you guys at least, just let the woman know what you will like to eat, I will pay for it". Larry was excited, " guy! He exclaimed, you are a good guy", thanks alot, he said. "I have been very famished since morning, no tangible way to get around it with my brother here, except to just make sure the only fund we had is to find our way down to the camp, expecting a miracle to happen from our gaurdian, who is as well struggling to put something together for us, as he had promised to support us".
Larry shook Prieto's hand for the help. Prieto then approached the woman, and asked her to serve his two friends first. Guys! "What will you like to eat?", Prieto asked. "Madame pls what do you have?", Lucky asked. " We have fried rice, jollof rice and white rice inclusive with other supplement, you might like to have with your delicacy". Okay! "Pls serve me a plate of fried rice mixed with jollof rice, I don't mind some spaghetti rice and fried plantain, with egg and two meat". Lucky told her. Larry said "pls sell two plates of those request from my brother". Prieto interrupted the woman, "do you have soft drinks?", Yes! We do". She said. Okay! Can we have three bottle of coke bottle?". Sure! She said.
The woman went to her reservoirs and dished the meal as requested to Lucky, and served another plate with same content for Larry. They were both excited. They took their spoon and started eating. Prieto went to the woman and asked her if she has moi moi, she said yes. Okay! Just sell jollof rice with spaghetti, moi moi, salad, three meat and one fish. "Preferably I want the middle of the fish". Prieto told her. Already they were both with the bottle of Coca-Cola, so Prieto was already drinking from the bottle, to quench his thirst.
The distance traveled to Jos would have been more hectic, if not for the advantage of the luxurious bus. It quite a long journey from Delta State. So Prieto never really ate much, at the stop by for refreshments. Therefore, the other path of the journey ran into the night. Prieto was having feelings of anxiety at that moment, so no food nor drink appealed to him. He was only anticipating getting to the camp ground safely. Now that he is there, his mood felt relax, with a need to consider some refreshments, after the long stretch. So drinking a chilled coca cola, can't be passed for a bad idea. Has he drank, his eyes drift towards his friends, who were busy eating like their last breath depends on the food.
The two brothers were both eating with serious excitement, not minding other corpers, who were hanging around or buying their own food too. The woman served Prieto his own portion of jollof rice, has he had requested. He collected it from the other lady, assisting the woman in the service. Ooosh! "Madame this food is hot o". Prieto lamented. " You can go ahead and use the table beside you", she told him. " But their are still some people's food half eaten on it?", Prieto said. The woman shouted to the assistant, "Unice ! ! What's the meaning of this?", are you not suppose to clear and clean the table?". " Sorry ma! Unice quickly ran to the table with a rag, she packed off the plates and wiped clean the table. Prieto carried the plate of food he ordered in his right hand, while the bottle of Coca-Cola was in his left hand, as he sat placing them on the table.
The two brothers stood from the bench they were eating, and came to the same table Prieto was eating. The three of them ate on the same table, uninterrupting themselves as they scoop the spoon full of rice, into their mouth. Larry and Lucky had already eaten halfway. Prieto was just eating, yet struggling with the hot food in his plate, before putting it in his mouth. The rice that was served Prieto, was just been cooked and dropped from the fire. So reason why their response to their portion was different. Anyway the food that was served to the two brothers, were rightly warmed already and it's been in the cooler. It's all enjoyable anyway. The more Prieto struggled with the hot food, the more he adapt to eaten it all the same.
