While the process proceed at the administration block, the ones already attended to came out with the prove of their registration, showing others where they were posted for their service. Within the state of Jos city, the rural and the urban area, each one of the corpers keep getting their various placement around the city. Some were posted to industrial places for their attachment, while many more of them were posted to schools. Prieto was still on queue, but Larry and Lucky was in the midst as sure as he was, but the crowded place, won't give the chance for him to leave the straight line he was, so he doesn't loose his turn.
Therefore, Prieto just stayed put hoping it will soon get to his turn. On looking back to the extreme end of the line ups, he discovered that he could not see the end of the lines. Nevertheless he was sure his friends were somewhere in the midst. After several hours in the process, the line kept bringing Prieto closer to the office. At this point he was already feeling exhausted, but he had to endure the registration phase and the stress attached to the operation, while standing under the scorching sun, waiting for his turn.
Finally, it was his turn and Prieto walked into the office with his papers. He got in and saw the adminstratives, he tendered his counterfoil and every other requirements, the team official attending to him collected it and asked him to sign on a file, that already has his name on it, found on batch B. He was giving an envelope, and the team called out for the next corp. Prieto walked out of the office, looking at the envelope placed in his hand, when he got outside to the crowded camp ground, he opened the paper and saw where he was posted.
A school! Looking at the address he discovered the allocated place, is at the rural ends of the city because the school never rang any familiar bell. "Sekem college! Prieto lamented. Located in jos. As he was going through the papers, Larry saw him and approached him. Prieto! Larry called out for him. "Guy where have you been?", What about Lucky?". Asking Larry, who was trying to keep through the papers in Prieto's hand to know, what they will be expecting. Larry answered, "we are still on queue", "I saw you coming out from the block, so I told Lucky to hold down my spot to meet with you". "Where is he?", Prieto asked, Larry pointed to the extreme end of the line, other corpers awaiting their registration were.
Prieto then, told him that they should go and meet with him too. The two of them moved closer to where Larry was, on getting there Lucky shook Prieto's hand and said congrats my dear, for keeping to impropt. " At least you already received your placement, look at the queue here, it possible we don't get ours today". Lucky asked Prieto, to show him the papers he was holding in his hands. Prieto handed over the paper to him, and said "o boy na one village school them go post me o". "Sekem college, in kwata! Does such place ring any bells to anyone here?", Prieto asked as Lucky kept reading through the paper in his hands.
"O guy! Make e no be say na village them go post me o", as Luck said, everyone on the queue start to laugh aloud, from the resonating laughter from Larry and Prieto. Prieto collected the paper from Lucky, and all kinds of sort talks started ringing from the queue, and the surrounding premises. In jokes and stories about their postage. Each of them became quite nervous on their expectations. One of the corp member name Kalu, shouted in the midst " well come to 'Kabana Republic! a term I qualify as the struggle continue".
Everyone started laughing again, and another person with a faceless identity said, "na wao this allawi! U sure say we go see for the place?". More laughter rang in the midst. " Nna ! ! ! Biko at least remember to tell them say you go drink garri o. Hahahaha! was sounding on the queue, as everyone excitedly use the mood, they were in to get to know themselves. As they met themselves, through the course of their jokes and personal opinions, the interval of waiting on the queue became, a little tense from the scorching sun. It was as if the movement of the queue, became automatically responsive.
Prieto had to excuse himself from the two, to get a drink for himself to soothing the relief of the extensive stress, he was getting from the rest of the attending corpers on queue. Larry went back to his position behind Lucky on the queue. Guy! ! ! Larry called out to Prieto, "are you going back to the hall?", "I should", Prieto said. But I need to attend to some things at up hill real quick, not wanting to give them hint of the refreshments, because he knew his funds will be at stake, on the account of buying for the two. So he excused himself, from the midst to be alone and have the chance to think about his next line of agenda, as regards where he was posted.
The paper he had from the administration, was in his hands as he walked along to the refreshments center, at the premises in the camp ground. Prieto got to the place and saw many more corpers, who had already gotten their papers for their placement. The discussion between the group of corpers, was about the government allowance they stand to get at the process of their service to where, each one of them is been posted to. Some of the corper were posted to fairer places where, they will not only get the government fixed salary, but also the renumeration from the organization, they will be working with.
Prieto walked straight to the woman selling food, and order for a plate of food after by passing the corpers, who were busy talking things out with the rest of their colleague. He first asked for a bottle of Pepsi, to quench his thirst from the harsh drought, emitting from the scorching sun. Some other corpers were sitting at other sections of the cafeteria, enjoying and relieving themselves from the long stand, on the queue.
A guy on the table, going through the paper he got from the administration saw Prieto, as he sat looking at his own paper in his hand and approached him.
