SAM'S TORTURE
Sam looks at Oluwaseyi who was in no mood to look back at Sam. Sam stood there looking at the dead body of Rotimi and at that moment did it dawn on him that titles, badges, crowns fame no longer mattered to him, he went on his knees crying as to he just couldn’t believe what just happened.
“I wouldn’t have trusted you Sam, she was my world and you could not just protect her this once”
Oluwaseyi said looking at Sam who was at the edge of his own venom.
“Seyi!!”
“I’m sure when she’s back, ill support her in taking any revenge she wants to, even if it means eating you alive”
Sam looks at Oluwaseyi who had let the fangs of obsession eat into him so bad that he created a seat for the devil himself. Anger, frustration, bitterness and above all the demon of obsession. Oluwaseyi made himself clear as he takes Rotimi body with him. Sam raised his head and watches Oluwaseyi turn into something worse than Rotimi, he just couldn’t believe that such a thing could occur.
“I’m sorry Seyi! I’m sorry”
Oluwaseyi took the body to a cold store where dead bodies are kept.
“Can this body be separated from the rest?”
“Why sir?”
“Because I do not wish to cause any alarm or fear when it shall come back to life”
The doctors there looks at him like though he was insane.
“Back to life? I mean this body is as dead as anything, I can’t even think of anything right now, how can you even wish for this body to come back to life?”
“Keep this body separate, good night”
Oluwaseyi said as he leaves their presence and heads out. He went to a hotel and lodge there for the night. He went in with some bottles of alcohol and decided to waste his life. He sat down beside the bed and looked at the full moon of the night.
“Rotimi!!! Please don’t leave me please, Rotimi “
Oluwaseyi felt very terrible, it was just so unlike him but he couldn’t help the fact that he had lost something for some reason happens to be the cause for his daily motivation.
“God why?”
He screams out loud as he consumes the alcohol into his system, let’s say that was his first time but he drank like a pro would drink.
Poor Oluwaseyi.
Sam on the other hand leaves the execution ground an goes to the main academy field and everyone out there will not stop congratulating Boluwatife to the fact that indeed he had done a wonderful and excellent job.
Sam was like an idol to the academy. He was often looked up to, he made a clean investigation and always won. But this time the disappointment on their faces was just what he could not put up with. He stares at the D.I who stared back at him with a resentful eyes.
“And for the first time this badge belongs to Boluwatife”
It was a badge close to the highest ranked badge in the academy. Sam looks at the D.I with a sense of disappointment and anger, pain and sadness. That was supposed to be his badge by default but now its handed offer to someone else in his very before.
“D.I sir that was supposed to be my badge”
“Okay……? I thought you were supposed to know better that it is he who has finished the race that is supposed the crown, right!”
“Are you now using scriptures on me now?”
“Is that not what you Jews live by? Or…?”
The D.I said with a brow raised up. Sam could not just believe what was going on.
“Sir, this was with my blood, my sweat, I risk myself, my friendship for this case, and o you have any idea of what this meant to me? I took my time to research on this and this is what I get? A quoted scripture?”
“Do have a good rest Sam, you have another case to handle by tomorrow”
The D.I said patting his shoulder and leaves.
“I quit sir!”
Sam said with his face down, the D.I turned immediately and looks at him.
“Did I hear you clearly?”
Sam raised his head and looked at the D.I and the tears he held on found its way to his eyes.
“Sam!”
The D.I went closer to Sam and held his shoulder.
“You really need to rest okay! You did a great job. I’m still proud of you Sam”
The D.I said patting Sam’s shoulder and leaves him as they rest of the academy personnel. Boluwatife touches him and passes by him, Sam fell to his knees as he has lost the trust of his friends, his badge, and a part of himself.
He goes back to his room and felt for the first time shattered and very sad
“Help me Lord, I’ve gotten myself into a big mess father, help me. I have let the things of this world, my titles I have made them a little bit higher than anything, help me father”
Sam was truly in pains, the guilt alone was too much for him. Knowing how many times Oluwaseyi cried to God behalf of Rotimi for her healing, and just for a little while, he could not, just for once see beyond his badges. The bitterness was deep, he laid on the floor with his face flat on the floor. He will not stop crying.
The full moon was Oluwaseyi comfort and his beer bottles. He would not forget the beautiful face of Rotimi and how her happiness made him feel. Mrs Ayo was all over her own tears, wailing none stop, Femi stood looking at his mother and his wife Abeni who tried to comfort Mrs Ayo the children will not stop wailing, Femi could not be the only one to be as a strong, he just remembered all the treat of Chief Oluwaseun and the miseries of Rotimi, then his mind took him back to Oluwaseyi and then he just got confused, sad, the feeling was just mixed.
Rotimi stood with her hands folded and for a moment all the tears in her eyes seem to seize and she stared at the family and touched her mother and her eyes was opened to see her, she was able to make the rest deaf and blind for the few seconds she wanted to spend with her mother
“Rotimi?”
“I will be back mother, I haven’t finished my revenge fully”
“Rotimi! I’m so sorry”
“Don’t cry anymore mother, I will be back, soon”
Then she removed her hands from her mother and everything went back to normal, her mother saw her fade as Rotimi looks at the rest of the family and smiles and goes away to find Sam.

A new day had set up Rotimi smiles with a glass of Coffee in her hand, she was in the realm of the dead and the dead was separated from the dead. There was a good dead, the bad dead. And Rotimi for some justified reason was in the good death.
A knock came to her door and she responds to it with a snap a then was the girl she slept close to, she still had her hand with ice cream and her eyes were still sad, her rib was broken and Rotimi looks at her and sighs.
In the realm of the dead, there was no pain or form of emotion, you could not cry or laugh, everyone was just cold and sarcastic.
“Looks like we are still left with scars huh!”
The girl looks at herself.
“Yeah…I wonder those who committed suicide by handing, they’ll be fun to look at”
“Seems you’re as cruel as myself”
The girl smirks and looks at Rotimi
“My name is Franca”
“Rotimi”
Rotimi responded stretching her hand towards her for a shake and the girl shook her back.
“Do have a sit”
“I thought I won’t be offered one”
“I mean why I won’t? What’s your first revenge mission?”
Rotimi asked the girl
“My father of course”
“I wish I could laugh but then I’m grateful I can’t”
“I will make sure he dies twice”
“Hmmm, I like the drive”
“Thanks. What of you what’s your first mission?”
“Well, I’ll have to deal with a bad dead, so that he’ll be a dead dead, and when I’m done… I shall inflict all the pain on the living, unless mercy finds him and I will bring a love one own here”
“A loved one?”
“A loved one”
Rotimi affirmed with a smirked and Franca smiles as they became good friends.
“I cried when you died, I really really didn’t want you dead, it really reminded me of my younger self at the same place at the same with the same reason and….. “
“Your dad too didn’t come? Too?”
“Yeah, that’s because he died before my 16th birthday even before that time I was going through the early stages of PSTD so…. I refuse to believe that he died”
“Oh! That’s sad,”
“It became sadder to see you just give up like that, but then here we are”
“Indeed! What really brought you here?”
“Gunshot”
Franca looked at her chest and found the spot.
“I think death really is a peaceful thing”
“Indeed!”
“Let me go and prepare a plot then”
“Of course yes, a strategy”
Franca hugged her and left then Mitchell came in with another little girl. Rotimi was very excited to see Mitchell but sadly could not express it.
“You made it”
Mitchell said to Rotimi.
“But in the bad death. I died by suicide so……”
“Its fine but we can always see, because I’m about to rebel against the principles of this place”
Rotimi said throwing herself on the sofa.
“Really, that sounds fun for some reason”
The little girl said as she went ahead to seat down beside her.
“Do we know ourselves?”
Rotimi asked the little girl to get clarification before going ahead to talk to her.
“That’s my sister”
Mitchell said looking at Rotimi who didn’t expect it.
Smirks.
“Well I guess here we are truly immortals, not allowed to grow old either.”
Mitchell sighs and sat on the sofa.
“So what’s the plan? Your rival is here I hope you know that”
“The more reason I said I’m going to violate the rules of this place”
“There is going to be a second death, the delete of an immortal, so it be like they never existed even in the minds of the mortals”
“That really is rebellious, it still sounds cool anyways. I’ll just be watching your progress. How you ended up as a good dead, I still baffle about it.”
“Let say the cause of the death was good, karma understood that I wasn’t at fault here”
“Really?”
“Que sora sora, what will be will be”
“I really love the tattoo on your hand”
Rotimi didn’t really observe it, plus the fact that she hate tattoos.
“What! Where?”
Rotimi asked in fear as she searched her body, it was quite amusing for Mitchell
“So dumb, I clearly told you which part I saw it and you’re still asking me what part, really?”
Rotimi pauses and stood still looking at her hand and saw it written
“T.W.O.S.I.D”
Then she smiled and looked at her hands.
“What does that even mean?”
Mitchells sister asked, slightly irritated”
“The wages of sin is death”
Mitchell said getting up; with her both hands in her pocket. Rotimi gets up and looks at Mitchell
“I learnt from the best”
Rotimi said with a smile on her face, Mitchel’s sister was confused
“What is she talking about Mitchell?”
Mitchell looks at her sister and then at Rotimi.
“Let’s go”
“You know that’s not the kind of life I want”
“Some of us may just be too obsessive”
Rotimi said looking at Mitchell with a stern look.
“Rethink this, rethink this Rotimi”
Mitchell said dragging her sister out.
“I hope we don’t become rivals, because you’re part of the valued persons in my life”
Mitchell stares at Rotimi and leaves with her sister. Rotimi heaves a sigh and went back to looking out from her window.

Just like in the real world cafeterias and sits out were still available.
Rotimi dressed in her black attire took a walk down the streets, she decided to take a step to the bar. Reaching there she sights chief Oluwaseun and she smiled.
“So, we finally met again”
Rotimi said with her hands in her pocket.
“But not in hell as I had imagined”
She continued approaching him.
Chief Oluwaseun was with senator Tunde and Senator Lawal.
“You sure must be so bold to walk up to the spirits of those you killed”
“What can I say Tunde? The ones you killed will still be hunting you, you know”
“Did you just call me by my name?”
“Are you deaf?”
Rotimi said again with a smile on her face and a lift of her left eyebrow.
“Well Rotimi, I’m sure you’d like to look at the fossils of your father’s spirits”
Rotimi looks at Chief Oluwaseun.
“What do you mean?”
Her breathe at that moment seem to have increased
“What I mean is that you should take a walk to the museum to take a last look or thought of what your father looked like because sooner or never you might just not know what he looked like or even remember he existed”
“So erasing of one’s existence is not even against the law, it’s a norm here? Cool, so chief the earlier the better”
She said within her while her body stood still.
“Rotimi!”
Senator Lawal called out seeing to it that Rotimi was lost, but to their greatest surprise, she smiles and walks away.
“See you later boys!”
She said and ran off.
“Boys? Boys? unbelievable”
Senator Tunde looks at chief Oluwaseun who looked a bit troubled.
“Troubled? Over some teenage girl?”
“Let’s get going”
Chief Oluwaseun said.
Rotimi on the other hand had ran to the museum. It was called a museum because unlike every other ones, it held memories of aging spirits. That is what they were called, aging spirits.
“Father! So it’s true, you’re really going to be exiting existence? Why? We can be together now, father and daughter, why did you have to go like this? So mum will just have to wake up and would never remember she was married to you, and then her kids? Us? How do we explain this? Or rather how do you explain this?”
Sighs.
“Never mind you’re dead anyways, I may not truly have to return to the real world, I’ll do make sure I bring a loved one here”
She said as she was about taking her leave, when Mitchell came in.
“Rotimi what are you doing here?”
“I should be asking you the same thing Mitchell”
“I’m not here to war you either so ease yourself, my sister will soon be among the ageing spirit, and I came to prepare her cone”
“Oh! Cones are to be prepared by relatives?”
“Not exactly, I don’t want to feel guilty staying alive in this cold space”
“I see,”
She said taking her eyes to look at her dad’s cone.
“This is my dad”
“He really must have been a good man”
“Indeed, do well to take care of your sister”
Rotimi said holding Mitchells shoulder as she walked out of the museum.

“You really need to cheer up man, “
“You really are bold to come before me Sam!”
Oluwaseyi said partly drunk to the wine that he drank.
“I know I messed up, but I’m sorry, big time”
“Your apologies won’t bring back Rotimi, would it?”
Oluwaseyi said taking another gulp down his throat.
“Would drinking or making waste your life do that?”
“You still don’t get it do you?”
Oluwaseyi said sitting up erectly.
“Sam I know, and I’ll pay up my sins fully, but Seyi! Seyi you’re a good person, you don’t deserve this. I’m sorry okay! Think about the trust of Sir Charles, if he ever finds out that you’re this wasted, he’ll be so hurt”
Oluwaseyi still did not say a word.
“When do you plan her burial?”
Then did Oluwaseyi became upset.
Smirks.
“Burry? Sam burry? You really, really do have some nerves. Rotimi, Rotimi is coming back. My Rotimi is coming back to her body you hear me!”
Sam was dumbfounded, he dint expect this from him, no not Oluwaseyi.
“Seyi! Seyi what happened to you? this is not the Christian I know, that would always trust in God….
“What did my trust bring me?”
Oluwaseyi shouted.
“What did my trust bring me? Fortunes? Happiness? Laughter? Joy? apart from all these pain what else did my trust in God bring to me? Was I not devoted enough? Where did I go wrong, No you Sam tell me where?”
“Seyi! get yourself together”
“No you get yourself together. If you really kept the wordings of the book of the law, what happened to Love thy neighbour as you love thyself?”
“Are we dealing with scriptures here?”
Oluwaseyi looks at Sam and smirks.
“Isn’t that what you should live by?”
Oluwaseyi said in a calm tone.
“Get out from my sight Sam, I never want to see you again, ever in my life”
“Are you passing blames to me now Seyi?”
“Do you wish to pass it to me?”
“How was I even to know that you were still alive? How? She said you were dead……”
“then why didn’t you avenge my death, because there was no evidence to proof that Chief Oluwaseun was the culprit right?, you could not just go off your throne to help those who laid in the mud, and you stand there to lecture me about Christianity”
Smirks.
“What happened to the part of the scripture that said love your neighbour as you love yourself? Get out Sam, before the length of my patience expires.”
Sam saw for a truth that he wasn’t in the place to tell Oluwaseyi what to do about this Christian faith. He felt very bad that the only true thing he had messed it up. He got up and looked at the tears that rolled down Seyi cheeks, he only could wish he could take the hurt away.
“I’m sorry”
He said and leaves. Rotimi watches Oluwaseyi look miserable and it pains her much.
