LEONA
We pulled back from the kiss unwillingly when his phone won't stop ringing.
He offered me a silent apology before dipping his hands into his pocket to retrieve the phone.
He looked at the phone with a little frown before putting it back into his pocket.
"What's wrong? Won't you pick your call?" I asked and buried my nails into his dark brown hair.
" Well, it's just mum. She wants to see me and I guess that's why she's calling." He answered with eyes all over me.
I shifted on him then got up. I was suddenly feeling shy knowing that his eyes are feasting on my body.
"What are you doing?" He asked and got up as well.
"You need to go." I picked my shirt and put it on hastily. I just hope he didn't see the scar on my tummy.
"I can see her later." He turned me to face him.
" No, you have to. She must be calling for a reason." I picked my trouser and slipped it on.
" Fine. Let me help you." He said and started buttoning my shirt.
There was a smile on his face as he took more time than usual to button my shirt.
I can't help but stare at his dazzling beauty. He's really gorgeous and I can't believe I was in his arms just a while ago.
"Are you just noticing that your son and I kinda share a resemblance?" He teased and I snapped out of my thoughts.
" Uhmm. " I opened my mouth and closed it.
He picked his shirt, wore it, and took his suit. "Mind coming with me?"
"What? No. No, Mr. Anosova. " I replied and laughed.
Why would he even ask me that? I know we've breached the boss and employee relationship and we're even not friends. And what we just did now I don't know what to call it so what will be my reason to meet his mum?
"You know, I really didn't want to go now. We were having a good time." He pouted.
My hands itched to pull at his cheeks.
" Imagine the things we could do." He winked and I flushed.
"You still have to go anyway," I whispered. "Let's go."
I took the lead. I didn't mind if he followed. I just want to disappear to my office and scold myself for throwing myself at my boss.
Before I could open the door, he pulled me back and kissed me before leaving.

"Thank God you're here, I thought you wouldn't come as always," Mum said when I walked into our big hall.
" Call it your lucky day then," I said and dropped my suit.
I wonder why she even called.
"Son!" Dad called and descended from the stairs.
"How are you, dad?" I asked and went to meet him.
" Omm good. How's work? "
" Great, I just came back from the trip I told you about "
" Oh great! " He mused proudly and sat adjacent to mum.
" So mum, I'm here now." I hope she has a good reason for summoning me here.
" Yes Dave, it's about Kathie and Emerald. You know, Kathie won't agree to get pregnant again without moving in with you.."
" Hold on mum, what do you mean by Kathie getting pregnant again?"
" Stop being obnoxious! You know I needed a boy and not a girl right?"
"How's that my problem? I did what you asked me to didn't I ?"
" You did but I didn't get the result I needed."
" Well, deal with it then but don't involve me again," I said harshly earning a raised eyebrow from dad.
"And that is what I am doing. Maybe you guys should really get intimate this time so that it can be a boy.."
"Mum !" I screamed.
" What?" She snapped and rolled her eyes.
I looked at dad for help but he was busy reading a newspaper or just pretending to.
"And to do that, Kathie has a condition. She said until she comes to stay with you, she won't conceive for us." She added.
" Why are you doing this mum? Can't you just let me be? Or it a crime to be your only son?"
" Don't make me feel bad Dave! I don't see anything wrong in what I'm doing. You're my son and all I need is for you to settle down and give me grandchildren on your own but you denied me that so I have to do what I have to in order to get what I want. And Kathie, that lady is gorgeous and has everything you'll ever need in a woman. She was ready to get pregnant to save our assets even without marrying her. What else do you want?"
" How do you expect me to live with a lady I could barely stand? I don't even like her enough to be my woman. She's not my type at all. And she's really not what you think she is. She's very disrespectful and uncultured..."
" Enough! Kathie is nothing like what you're saying. She's very humble and respectful. Stop badmouthing her." She defended.
" Seriously, don't you trust your son anymore?"
" Not on this!" She replied.
" Aren't you going to say anything, dad?". I don't like how mum is trying so hard to dictate every aspect of my life. Can't I live just how I please?"
" Just let Kathie come to stay, it won't ruin you in any way. Besides, Emerald is your daughter and you can't always keep her away from you."
Here goes nothing. He always supports his wife.
" She can't stay and that's final." I blatantly refused.
" Why? Do you perhaps have another woman in the picture?" Dad asked, putting his paper aside to stare at me.
Instantly, my mind went to Leona and an involuntary smile broke softly on my face.
She could stay with me with that cute baby of hers. I'll choose her a million times over Kathie.
I think I should consider this. Leona can really come and stay with me.
I just dislike Kathie and she annoys the hell outta me.
"Have you finally gotten a girl?" Dad asked again.
" Well, dad.." I tried to say but the front door opened and the devil herself walked in with Emerald.
"Wow Dave, you're here!" She squealed.
I rolled my eyes and took Emerald from her.
" Hey Emerald," I called and her dark brown eyes glistened on me.
Somehow, Emerald took more of mom's features.
And she has this attitude I can't place my hand on. It's strange though.
She raised her tiny fist and hit me lightly on the jaw.
See?
Quite feisty.
An idea popped in my brain.
"Mum, I have an idea," I said and everyone focused on me. If only they knew.
" Why not disguise Emerald into a boy? Think about it, it will make everything a lot easier for us."
The three of them gasped.
" Where did you get such a stupid idea from?" Mum asked angrily.
"Come on mum, people do that all the time especially in situations like this. Kathie is a model, think about her career if she's to get pregnant again. She'll deform and look less pretty and unattractive."
" Shut up, you don't have to open your mouth if you don't have anything sensible to say. Kathie will stay with you and that's final." She yelled.
" We'll see about that! " I snorted.
" Have you forgotten that you guys are engaged?" Mum reminded.
"That was just a formality and nothing more. To me, it doesn't count."
" Don't push me to the wall Dave. You know what I can do."
" Whatever you can do, don't forget I can do worse!"
I kissed Emerald goodbye and left amidst my mum's yelling for me to come back.

"What do you know about music?"
"Leona taught me well enough to know that your voice is horrible."
" Don't mention her name," I said and continued painting my nails.
My siblings and I started going to school from where we stopped once Leona left and Dad's business got expanded. Aside from that, our fees were being taken care of by someone we still don't know.
It's not like I care.
We live in a mansion with cars and everything I ever needed was provided. Leona was a bad omen and once she left, our lives changed drastically.
We haven't heard from her for two years now and I'm glad she didn't dare show her face.
A knock suddenly sounded on the door.
I ignored it, expecting Valerie to go check who the person was but she just pretended not to have heard.
"Someone is knocking." I nudged her.
"Since I didn't hear why not go open the door?." She answered rudely.
" Can't you see my nails are not yet dry? Do you want my hard work to be in vain?"
" Whatever, I won't." She rolled her eyes and I just felt like plugging them out.
A violent knock sounded on the door again which got me standing without knowing.
I walked to the door and used my teeth to turn the knob but before that, the door was forced opened, hurting my lips in the process.
Three fearful men in a Black suit stepped in and pushed me aside.
The sound of the door breaking got mum and dad downstairs.
"Who are you and what do you want in my house?" Dad demanded.
" No need to know who we are but we came for someone."
Just then, an extremely good looking but dangerous man stepped inside. He was dressed casually in just jeans and a Lacoste but...
Oh my God! He's so hot and even though he looks quite older than me, I won't mind dating him if he asks me out.
Well I'm 18 so I think I won't be so immature for him.
Thank God Leona is not around if not he'd just fall in love with her at first glance. I hate Leona but I can't deny that she's beautiful.
"Dad, they are guests! Don't you think we should rather offer them something before proceeding to ask questions?" I suggested and smiled at the handsome man.
He didn't even give me a side glance to talk of returning my sweet smile.
"Where's she?" He spoke and even though his voice sounded harsh, it was as smooth as velvet.
" And I didn't come to sit and dine, young lady. So if you could shut up, it will be good for you." He said casually and placed a foot on our couch.
" Who are you talking about?" Mum asked.
"Don't pretend, I said where's Leona?" He lighted a cigar.
His voice was harsher and mean this time and I regretted crushing on him.
I wonder who he is and what he's got to do with Leona.
