Chapter 26 MORE REVELATION

“Please, we have a lot to talk about. My husband told me before he died that he agreed with his friend, Olamide Jacobs that his son must marry my daughter. They made the promise when they were still young and single.”
“Yes my dad told me to look for him, not knowing that he had died. I remember that he kept on insisting that I must marry his daughter, to which I would always mock at him.
When I got to know that Tina was his daughter, I became afraid and banished her from my sight.” Pastor Josh confessed.
“Hmmm, this is getting interesting, so that was why you took such irrational decision?” Tina yelled.
“I'm sorry but I have fought so hard to keep you off my back, until God knocked me down one night. That was the night I surrendered.” Pastor Josh confessed.
“But how come they made a promise, when they never knew the sex of their babies? What do we call this?” Tina queried.
“Can we say that God works in mysterious ways? He works in us, both to do and to will of His own good pleasure. He had known us from our womb and he declares the end from the beginning. Even when we were unbelievers, He died for us and working His work in us.” Pastor Josh explained.
“Furthermore, he reckons with promises. We should be careful what we say. God does not joke with His words and He doesn't want us to play with words too.”
“This is marvellous that two friends made a strong vow, and God fulfilled their words years later, though both dead. I fear this awesome God. I'm glad to see this while I am alive. My husband, Sunday Luke would be happy wherever He is.” Maria Luke uttered, rubbing her hands together to show her excitement.
Pastor Josh later took Tina's mom home where her daughter lives, with lots of fruits, and snacks. He bought Rice and Chicken to eat in the evening.
“Mama, Tina and I have a lot to discuss. We will see you later.”
“Go well my son. You have done well, but ehm, please don't be angry, but my daughter refused to forgive my, ehm my ehm, hmmm my husband. That was why I came to see her. Please….”
“Maami, you've started again, I cannot forgive the man who destroyed my life. Never, I have told you it's a No, for me! Back off maami. It's my life we are talking about.” Her eyes changed into balls of fire.
Temper flared up. The memory kept her caged, refusing to let go. She held on to her bitterness like a golden gift, not knowing that she was getting punished for an offense of another, unknowingly.
Where is the joy again? Memories kept on flashing and taunting her, making her throw tantrums, anyhow. Haunted by her past for no reason, she refuses to let go.
Tina heard a voice, “Will you let go?” She shivered, and turned to see Pastor Josh gazing at her with a gentle smile on his hot and handsome face.
“Did you say something sir?” She asked.
“Me? No, it's your conscience disturbing you. Why are you struggling to forgive, when Christ forgave you your past? Are you telling me that He made a grievous mistake for letting you off the hook?
Today, you are a graduate, hoping to get your Masters degree in Accounting, and become a chartered Accountant, and also wed one of the most thriving, young, dynamic men of God.” He chuckled.
“Do you know what I've been through, stop judging me sir. I have no strength to forgive. I hate to lie, In actual fact, I want that man to suffer much more than this!” She responded, while still sobbing.
“Maybe I should allow you to suffer like I did. I knew what God had to do for me to accept to marry you.”
Turning to her Mom, he advised, “Stop bothering yourself ma. She will come to her senses later.”
Tina's mom had a call, she excused herself to receive it. She returned after five minutes with tears brimming from her face, “My God, my husband, oh God! Please, ….”
Both Pastor Josh and Tina rushed to her side, wondering what had happened to the man.
“Tell us maami, stop making her heart skipped for nothing.” Tina snapped.
“Hmmm, I think the man is dead oh! My God, please, Lord. The brother told me that this was the third time he would pass out. He informed me to come immediately. So I have to go back home.”
“Okay mama, we will take you to the hospital and bring him to my hospital. We will take care of him from now onwards.”
“You say what?”
Prince Josh, took both mother and daughter's hand and walked out with them.
“I need to pack my things “
“There will be no need for that. Let's go there quickly.”
