Episode 19

"Oh, yes, Jerry!" Damian said, a dangerous glint in his eye. "The demolition starts tomorrow. If they haven't moved out by then, destroy everything. Maybe throw them a few coins as compensation for their ruined belongings. Understand?"
Jerry nodded, but he couldn't help but feel a pang of unease. "Yes, sir. But I'd like to talk to you about them."
Damian scoffed, his voice dripping with arrogance. "What about them?"
Jerry hesitated, sensing Damian's hostility. He had wanted to offer some advice, but now he wasn't so sure. Damian was clearly in a ruthless mood, and Jerry didn't want to be the one to challenge him.
"No, nothing serious," Jerry mumbled, backing down.
"Then what?" Damian pressed, his gaze unwavering.
"It's about the child, sir. You heard her your ex wife say that the baby is yours. Do you really want to abandon her? You told me how much you loved her," Jerry said, hoping to appeal to a flicker of compassion in Damian.
Damian let out a harsh laugh. "Oh, yes, I loved her, I loved the baby, I really do. But now I hate her! I hate everything about Ariel and her family. And that baby is not mine! I have told you already! don't you get it?"
"I'm just asking, like... what if she really is yours? I mean I saw the baby, she's... she could be yours" Jerry pressed, his voice a whisper.
"Well, she's not!" Damian roared, his anger escalating. "Don't you dare try to force me to admit that it's my child! It's not like you're going to make me responsible for her! so don't talk a out then again, my decision my choice"
"You were not there with me when they showed me the DNA test result, she's not my child!" he roared, his voice echoing through the parlor. "Get it done, Damian. And don't even think about feeling sorry for them. I'm done with all of them!"
Jerry's face etched with worry, simply nodded and quietly slipped out.
Jerry could have thought about discussing this over and over again with Damian but he understood that Damian's anger simmered, a dark cloud hanging over him so he let be the way he wanted it.
Tomorrow was the day. The day he would start his first act of revenge because he still have a lot installed for them. He's determined make them suffer the same way they had made him suffer, left to face the cold rain alone.
He was strong and resilient If not, they could have killed and decompose his body. But he was strong enough to have survived. Living with them, he had learned their ways, their secrets. He knew what they were capable of it's a big advantage for him now.
Damian, however, knew his time in this town was limited. He yearned to return to his parents, to fulfill the promise he had made about him visiting them more often to know how he's doing. But he wouldn't leave until his task was complete. This was a one-way trip. He was building a legacy, a financial empire that would dwarf his father's wildest dreams. He wanted to build something that would stand tall, a global force. Yes, that's what he's become now, hunting for a legacy not talking about a child he doesn't care if she lives or die anymore.
                   | Matthias Home |
Matthias walked into his house, a calm mask hiding the turmoil within. He wasn't bothered, not really. His plan was in motion, a carefully crafted web of deceit already weaving its magic.
Dr. Ryda, Gabriella's doctor, was already there, waiting. "My balance is $500,000!" he declared, his voice laced with urgency. "You're paying me now."
Matthias shook his head, a sly smile playing on his lips. "That wasn't the agreement. You get your money after the case is over. I'll pay you, I promise."
Ryda nodded, his eyes narrowed. "I hope you keep your word. But remember, Matthias, this game you're playing is dangerous. That man is powerful, connected. I don't know how you plan to pull this off, but be careful. I should be going."
Matthias gripped Ryda's hand, a chilling glint in his eyes. "Don't worry, I'll keep my end of the bargain. Just keep your mouth shut. One word, and you'll be the one in trouble." Matthias said taking in a deep breath.
"Ariel will be looking for you, the police too. You're not safe at home. I should not be the one to remind you to avoid your house for now, find a better place to stay until the case is over you have to stay on a low key because if you get caught then everything is ruined and then I don't know you" Matthias adviced and he nodded his head.
"I know, I'm not stupid," Ryda said, his voice tight with urgency. "I've got everything ready. I'm staying low for eight hours, then I'm flying out of the country. Contact me when my money is ready."
"No! flying out to the country is not safe either, you could be caught at the airport also and that too is dangerous, so..." Matthias was still saying and then Ryda was suddenly interrupted.
"Don't worry Matthias, I have got this covered,I won't be caught, I'm so certain about it" Ryda replied.
Matthias nodded, his gaze darting around the room. "You need to leave now. Before someone spots you, before Ariel finds us. She might come here, you know. She's got a good chance of finding you, I'm certain she might even be on her way to this place."
Ryda, already making his way to the door, froze. A knock echoed through the house. Ryda who wanted to grab the doorknob pulled back instead.
"Matthias! are you home!!"
The voice was familiar, a wave of panic washing over Matthias.
"Oh my God! This way!" Matthias hissed, guiding Ryda towards a hidden passage, his heart pounding. It was Oliveira. She must not see Ryda, must not suspect anything. If she did, everything would go to hell.
