Episode 21

"Of course, it's not a joke. I'm telling you the truth," Matthias insisted. His denial was becoming too heavy, too obvious. Oliveira's voice boomed with anger.
"Oh, please! You didn't do it? Then who exactly did it? You did exactly as we planned, and now you're denying it! What do you mean? You almost killed her, what we planned wasn't even as bad as what you did!" Oliveira yelled at him but then he interrupted with a bit angered voice also.
"Either way still talks about killing the baby!" He yelled making Oliveira paused for a minute.
"Now you accept you did it?" She asked.
"No! I was just saying... I... no! I didn't do it!" Matthias stood his ground but it's already too obvious that he was lying and wasn't telling the truth.
"Matthias, we planned this together and I know you did it! so you are not going to rule yourself out of it! The doctor is asking for a huge amount of money to cure her, and I'm not interested in this your pretence anymore. So you're going to go ahead and help me provide some of that money so we can give it to the doctor who's taking care of her!" Oliveira said with a serious expression on her face.
Matthias smirked, looking into her face. "And I think I've already told you that I have nothing to do with this. You heard me right. So I'm not providing a dime to contribute for her care. Or else, you're going to report to the police...? And of course then..." He trailed off, his smirk widening. The situation had become far too complicated, far too dangerous.
Oliveira knew exactly what he's trying to insinuate, she couldn't dare go to the police. It would be unimaginable at this moment because she wouldn't be left out also. She felt helpless, only able to glare at him in anger.
"Well, that's nice! Nice you wanna play smart! you chose the wrong person" Oliveira said taking a break as she stepped a bit closer.
"I will forgive you for ruining my daughter's life. But denying and wanting my granddaughter's death? Don't worry about it. The war you began will crush you! Right now, you've bitten the hand that fed you. Don't worry, we'll see!" She yelled, storming out of the house. Matthias watched her go, a cold smile on his face.
            • Damian And His Team •
Damien wasn't satisfied. His achievements, though impressive, left him wanting more. He craved something truly fulfilling, something that would leave him feeling completely satisfied. The projects he was currently involved in just weren't cutting it. He couldn't explain why, but he knew deep down that he needed more.
He sat alone on the veranda outside the compound, seeking solitude to clear his head. A glass of wine rested in his hand, its contents swirling as he contemplated his situation. His team bustled around him, preparing for tomorrow's activities. He watched them, his mind drifting to the fish pond company – the only venture he intended to built from the ground up which wasn't satisfying, he needs more achievements.
He'd already signed a contract for a new KFC franchise, but that was his father's empire. He wanted to build his own legacy. He wanted to prove himself. He needed more than just the fish pond company. He wanted to add more to it but it's one step at a time and as it appears he considered expanding the fish pond company instead of building another company.
Opening locations in different areas. He needed to talk to Jerry, his trusted advisor and he has called for him already and had been waiting for his arrival for a while now.
Jerry finally arrived, his presence breaking Damien's train of thought.
"Boss," Jerry greeted him.
"Jerry," Damien began, his voice laced with frustration, "I'm not satisfied with what I have achieved so far, it's impressive but, it's just not satisfying to me. The KFC restaurant and the fish pond company – it's just not enough. Do you think I'm pushing too hard? Or am I just being... unrealistic?"
Jerry smiled, a knowing glint in his eyes. "What do you have in mind, Boss?"
"You're not pushing too hard, Boss," Jerry reassured him. "You're ambitious, you know what you're doing. You're striving to be better than your father. If you feel like what you're doing isn't enough, it's natural to want to level up. If you have bigger plans, I'm here to help, you tell me what you want and I will simply give my advice about it."
He moved to stand beside Damien, a silent gesture of support.
Damien returned to the table, grabbing another glass and filling it from his wine bottle. He then walked over to Jerry and handed him the glass.
"Have a drink with me," he offered, a hint of warmth in his voice. Jerry accepted the glass with gratitude, enjoying the camaraderie. He wasn't just Damian's advisor, he was a friend, almost like a father to Damian and only here to advise him not to work for money, he's a rich man on his own too.
Jerry was a wealthy man in his own right, with his own successful empire. But he valued respect and humility. He saw Damien as a kindred spirit, a young man with ambition and drive. Calling Damian "boss" was a formality, a reflection of their professional relationship. In their hearts, they were not even equals. He is superior to Damian and should be compared to the like of Dennison Villa, the men he had done things with, Maybe Damian is going to be better than all of them some day but definitely not today. He just calls him boss because he feels like and he is the son of the most richest man in the world.
"You know," Damian continued, his voice filled with excitement, "I was thinking... after we finish demolishing the house and setting up the fish pond company, I want you to look downtown. There are some plots of land for sale. Find a few locations right in the city, maybe two or three, buy them and start setting up new branches of the fish pond company. We'll be making a lot more money that way, right?"
Jerry nodded enthusiastically. "That's a brilliant plan, Boss! A very wise and strategic move. I'm all in. Once we're done with the demolition of the house, I'll be busy scouting locations and getting those new branches up and running."
Damien smiled, his confidence growing. He had a vision, and he had a team to make it a reality. His ambitions were soaring, and he was ready to conquer the city.
