Ariel walked inside and found the first staff member busy attending to customers. "Hi...? You are welcome ma'am. What do you want to buy? You can please take a seat, and a worker will attend to you," the staff member said. "Umm, I'm sorry.... for... em... interrupting.... But I didn't come here to buy anything," Ariel replied, making the staff member pause and look at her from her head down to her toe as if there is something off about her which there isn't. "So... how may I help you then?" the staff member asked. "I saw the notice for a cleaner being wanted outside. I came to see if I had a chance," Ariel said, and the staff member nodded immediately. The way she acted could simply mean that they are in need of the cleaner immediately. "Come with me!" the staff member said, heading inside. Without hesitation, Ariel followed her. They arrived at a particular office inside the restaurant, which was likely the manager's office or the CEO's. "Wait for me here," the staff member said as they reached the door. She went inside alone and quickly opened the door again. "Come in," the staff member requested. Ariel entered the office and saw one of the men who had accompanied Damian to return her ring yesterday, one of the Damian's body guard. That simply mean that the average men who aligns with Damian are at least millionires, she has missed something really big. Seeing him, she felt weak. She wanted to simply turn back and walk away, but she couldn’t. She desperately needed the job. Maybe she would get the chance, or maybe the man wouldn't even recognize her. So, she went in and sat down gently as she was offered a chair. "Welcome... Damian's ex-wife, right...?" the man said. In that moment, her hope vanished. At this moment she can do better than to get to her feet and go home. She couldn't directly respond to that question. "Good morning, sir," she greeted instead, her voice low and filled with a pitiful tone. "Welcome. So, you came for the position of the cleaner?" he asked. She nodded her head. "Yes, sir. I'm desperately in need of this job, sir... please, I'm begging you," she said, her voice trembling and tears threatening to spill. She was ready to kneel down if necessary. "Come on! It's not just about you needing the job. You can see this place is very busy and needs a vibrant person, which you don't seem to fit. You look like someone who has been suffering for years. You can't handle this work, I'm sorry to say but we can't employ you" he said, his words sharper than a knife. The moment the young man spoke, Ariel dropped to her knees, her voice thick with desperation. "Please, sir," she pleaded, "I need this job so badly! I'll do anything you ask, clean, anything! I'm quick, I'll surprise you!" Tears welled in her eyes, and she remained kneeling before him. The young man, seeing her earnest plea, felt a flicker of pity. He swallowed hard, his hands clasped together, and shrugged. "Maybe... just maybe, I'll consider you. But you have to meet one condition. If you don't, then I'm sorry, you're not qualified. You look... unkempt." He knew it was harsh, but he couldn't deny the truth. Ariel's appearance was far from presentable. She looked worn down, her clothes faded and her hair unkempt. He wished he could say something kinder, but the truth was, she didn't seem like the kind of person he'd want representing his company as a cleaner. Yes it's just a cleaner but he want everything about the restaurant to be of high standard. "I want a look that draws customers in, makes them want to come back, a look can make someone admire you and would want to come back also because of you" the young man said, his voice firm. "Not like this, you aren't looking anything I want, but that's not the only criteria though and also that's not the main criteria of though it's part of it." Ariel let out a shaky breath, hoping this was the condition he'd been talking about. But when he quickly added that it wasn't, she regained her composure, her hope rekindled. If that's the only condition then obviously she can't take on the job because at this her condition, she can't see herself being that hot girl, she has too many problems than to talk about looking good. "How many years of experience do you have?" The mam asked. And that suppose, is the main criteria she need to get the job. "We need someone with 30 years of experience." Ariel stared at him, a mixture of disbelief and amusement on her face. "You can't be serious! Thirty years?" He nodded. "Yes, thirty years. There are some things that need to be handled, problems I can't explain right now. Only if you can prove you have 30 years of experience will I tell you what they are. And only those with 30 years experience of the job can solve it" Ariel knew this was a trick, the man obviously do not want to give her the job, that's the only answer to it. Who in their right mind would stay a cleaner for 30 years? It was a ridiculous demand, a clear way to get rid of her. He didn't even ask for 5 years or 10 years, but 30? It was absurd. "Um... I'm sorry sir, I don't have 30 years of experience, but trust me..." she began, but he cut her off. "Leave my office," he said, his smile wide and cold. "You're not qualified. Get up and leave!" Ariel didn't blame the young man. He's doing this because he knew Damian, wouldn't be happy if he hired her. She understands that. It wasn't entirely his fault, but he could have given her the job if he wanted to. He just didn't want to. Hearing him yell, she knew begging wouldn't change anything. She stood up and quietly walked out of the office. As she reached the waiting area, the staff member who had brought her in approached her, a hopeful smile on her face. "Well, did you get the job?" Ariel's smile was forced, her face betraying her defeat. She was drained, her spirit broken. "No, I didn't." The staff member frowned, confused. "You didn't? I don't understand. It's just a cleaning job. What could they possibly need besides someone who's energetic and capable? just like you" She couldn't understand how Ariel, a vibrant young woman, could have failed to get such a simple job. It's unless there is something more to it.
