"I'm sorry... I wanted to make it up to her, but I destroyed us for it, I'm sorry..." he whispered, and he had as many tears in his eyes as I did. We both cried, maybe that was for the best. In order to really get along on the subject of Kaitlin, we have to talk about everything and talk things through. And cry in front of each other if need be. Nathan took me in his arms and stroked my hair while I cried to him. "It's going to be alright," he whispered in my ear, then kissed my hairline.
"Nathan please don't leave me for me," I sort of begged, looking up into his eyes. "I won't, not because of her or anyone else," he explained to me and I just nodded sadly. "Let's end this topic now, ok?" he asked me and I immediately nodded. "Now smile princess," he asked me and I nodded smiling. "Photos?" I asked him sweetly and he just laughed in response. I love this boy and his laugh. When he stopped laughing, I pulled out my phone and we took some nice photos.
Which we then looked at. "Nathan," I said to Suess his name and he smiled at me. "Shall we jump down from here?" I asked him and he nodded with a grin. "Yes we have to," he replied with a grin and I slowly looked at the rocks. "You know I'm scared," I reminded him again and he nodded again, grinning. "I know that's exactly why we have to do this," he explained to me and I sighed. Sometimes he's really an ass, or rather he's always an ass. "Let's jump together, ok?" he encouraged me and I nodded slowly.
We got up slowly and walked to the rocks. I jumped on top of him so my legs were around his waist and my arms were around his neck. "Let me know, though," I whispered, looking at him very sweetly. "Oke babe," he just answered and approached the end of the rocks. "Nathan, I'm scared," I said, hugging his neck even tighter. "You don't have to, we'll be in the water soon," he said and we started counting together. "1...2...3..." and he jumped into the water. I screamed as loud as I could and hugged Nathan as tight as I could.
When we emerged, I was still hugging him very tightly. "You can hug me looser now babe," he said, laughing and I read a little looser. Nathan was still laughing and got a slap on the shoulder for it. "Stop laughing so ugly!" I yelled and had to start laughing myself. "You're laughing yourself," he protested and we both just laughed. The conversation has already been forgotten by both of us and we were just having fun. "I love you Alessia," he said unexpectedly, kissing me in the water. I returned the kiss and started to smile.
We had fun together all evening and spent the time together. We just enjoyed it and were both happy to be able to experience this time. I don't think either of us have ever had such a good time. In the evening we walked back and held hands the whole time. When we got to the hotel we had dinner and then went to bed. We fell asleep cuddling. The next morning I woke up to the sunbeams and found I was still lying on Nathan's chest. I slowly got up and made my way to the bathroom.
In the bathroom I decided to take a bath and relax a bit. I slowly undressed and every single piece of clothing brushed my body and I kept getting goosebumps. I slowly turned on the faucet and climbed into the bathtub. I lay down in the bathtub and relaxed closed my eyes. It felt so good to feel the hot water on my body. After half an hour I left the bathtub with a towel around me. I went to my suitcase and noticed that Nathan was already awake.
When he saw me he came towards me. "Good morning babe," he said happily. "Good morning Nathan," I answered smiling and grabbing some clothes to wear. Nathan took a shower and I got dressed. When I was done, I realized that I was hungry. "Nathan, I'm going to get something!" I yelled and left our hotel room. When I got downstairs I ordered Nathan and myself and just as I was about to go upstairs I saw the person I least wanted to see.

I saw Kaitlin. And before she could spot me, I ran upstairs to our hotel room. When I got to the top, I slammed the door and saw that Nathan was out of the bathtub. He looked at me confused because I looked so shocked. "What's going on?" he asked worriedly, walking towards me. "Kaitlin's here," was the only thing I got out quickly. "How?" he asked me confused and I looked at him annoyed. "Did you tell her we're here?" I asked him, hoping he'd say no. However, he just stayed silent.
"Did you let her know we're here?!" I repeated, realizing it was him. Otherwise he would say no or something. "Not really..." he mumbled and I looked at him confused. What did he mean by not really? The question wasn't that difficult. Either he said yes or he didn't, there really isn't any. "Nathan, speak up," I begged before I really freaked out. "I posted a post where you might see the hotel and maybe wrote that it's here in the Maldives," he confessed aloud.
"So you told her where we are? Even though you told me that we will spend two weeks without her?" I tried to understand him. "Mhm" was the only thing he managed to say and I glared at him. "You tell me we're spending time together but invite her over!" I yelled at him. "I didn't invite her!" he protested. "Theoretically you asked her here! If you tell her where you are and in which hotel you are, of course she will come, what do you expect?!" I yelled at him angrily.
"Sorry..." he mumbled and I knew he meant it. But still I was mad at him, why is he doing this? I thought we'd spend the weeks alone, alone without her coming or disturbing us. Apparently I was wrong as he wanted to bring his best friend here without being spotted. What worked, she's here now and probably already on her way to our hotel room. "It wasn't my intention...I didn't mean to post it it was by accident and when I realized I posted it I wanted to delete it but it was too late," he explained and I nodded.
Was it too much to ask to go on vacation without her? I just want to spend time with my boyfriend without her. As bad as it sounds, I want to spend time with my boyfriend without her. She's starting to get on my nerves, I understand that he's her best friend. But still it's annoying. Imagine such a girl or boy is with you all the time. Approach your boyfriend or girlfriend and do whatever it takes to make you and your partner fight. And away from each other.
But like I said at the beginning, she's always there and I've somehow become the third wheel in "their" relationship. Of course, it would bother me if I had a best friend who only hangs out with his girlfriend. But what does that mean, he's with her most of the time anyway, so I really have to complain. But sometimes I could understand them a bit, but I would never go that far. Out of respect for my best friend. I wouldn't even put him in a position where he has to choose between the two of us.
~FLASHBACK~
6 MONTHS BEFORE
I'm sitting on the sofa in Nathan's room, waiting for him to come back. He was just going to get some snacks, but he's been gone for half an hour now. I don't want to be like a pushy girlfriend either, but where is he. It's not that hard to get some gummy bears and some drinks? If you do, please tell me and I'll love him extra for it. I waited another 10 minutes until I heard any screaming.
I realized it was Nathan who screamed and ran downstairs. But I wish I hadn't run downstairs and just stayed upstairs. Otherwise none of this would have happened. Downstairs, I saw Nathan and his best friend Kaitlin arguing. She was actually nice at first, but after that she started to think that I was bothering her with my existence. Believe me, I am too not too happy to see her, but I still have to drown her all the time. Unfortunately. "Nathan what's up?" I asked him confused, getting the more observant of the two. And believe me it was a mistake.
"Nathan what's up?" she mimicked me and I rolled my eyes. If she couldn't just shut up, it would be easier for all of us that way. But no, she must make life difficult for all of us. "You have a choice Nathan, either you choose me and I stay in your life or you choose her and I go. Forever.", she stressed that very much. Nathan and I looked at each other in shock but then to Kaitlin. "I can't do that, you two mean a lot to me..." he murmured, at least being honest.

And as you can imagine now, he chose me. Then why is she still here? Everyone who hears this part of our story asks themselves that. Well the answer is quite logical, did you really think she meant it? This is Kaitlin she will do anything to get him. But in the end she didn't go like we all expected. It would be too nice if she really went. But I've never been so lucky. Why should I, right?
Before I could say anything else, we heard a knock and a high pitched voice that we identified as Kaitlin's voice. "Nathan baby I'm here to save you don't worry I'm here baby" she yelled through the door and I looked confused at Nathan. "I'll save you baby, don't worry," she quickly added.
