34. Playback [Arc 3]

'What should I be doin'?'
I clinched my dagger and tried to run, yet my feet slammed at the ground by the heavy glare. I stared at the silver haired boy sitting in a bone-like chair with a wide grin.
'This boy ain't no joke, y'all!' I whispered.
The shackles around me suddenly moved and grabbed my body. I felt a tickling sensation pounding at my chest making everything I ate rumbled.
"Come on, I want some toys! You told me earlier that you're willing to give your soul" The boy muttered, he pulled out a pouch and tossed it at his right foot. "What would you do if I killed your sister?"
I gritted my teeth and glared at him with piercing eyes. 'Why would I even do that!, I told him that, to lure them at my trap, yet he captured my precious sister'
The bloody river beneath me suddenly sinks revealing a rutten flesh and broken bones. A floral yet subtle fragrance mingled with the metallic scent of blood, creating an eerie calm around me.
I silently gazed at the whole area and saw an endless realm of corpse, I'm still wondering how this boy could unleash a domain at his young age.
/TAP/TAP/CRACK/
"Let me erase the tide of tension!" The boy said, he top the bone-like chair and faded like a smoke.
The boy slowly raises his right arm and a mist emerges forming a dark flower. He placed down the dark flower in the ground filled with a rusty corpse.
"Domain Shift, Hell's Paradise!" Smiling the boy mumbled.
In a split a second, a blast of air flew almost making me fly, a grass sprout and wrapped the dark flower turning it into a healthy plant. Then the endless portion of the rutten corpse turned into a vast amount of grass with various flowers.
"We are in my playground, what do you want to play?"
"Ain't you just wastin' your time?"
"Are you kidding me?" The boy asked me with a vibrant smile.
"You just broke your pledge to be my faithful servant and tried to kill us just for the sake of your own sister, do you think I'm just wasting my time?" He exclaimed pointing his fingers.
He stood up and moved his body towards me, I couldn't move so I just watched him walking, but he disappeared and a whisper echoed in my head.
"Horizon!"
The word struck me, I glanced over looking at the boy, but I couldn't find any figure only a trail of silence in the vast grassy domain.
Then as the second passed, I felt a deep bite on my shoulder eating it like a hungry dog, My body felt strangely light, almost insubstantial, as if the very ground beneath me was fading away so I placed my right arm in my shoulder, but both sides of my arms fell from the ground like a freshly picked fruit.
/SCREECH/
"ARRRRRGGGG!,.SHIT!"
I shouted as I kneeled down while the agonizing pain took over my body, I vomit a crimson liquid followed by overflowing blood coming inside of my eyes. 'I can't take this anymore! This ain't in my plans!'
"Air!" I grasped, I opened my mouth trying to inhale anything. My teeth sank into my lower lip, I want to cry, I want to stop the rumbling ache, but I want to rest.
"Sigh...! Calm down, Lino...inhale...exhale!" The boy mumbled, he patted my head and gently poured some crystal salt over my severed flesh.
Another voice echoed at my mind almost making me permanently deaf. A melody of a pure energy that threatened to scatter my skull. My head slowly dissolves into a blinding noise.
[Domain Effect Activated! You lose your ability]
[Your blessings were locked]
[Sheath Passive Ceased! Your defense was worn out!]
With that the pain grows even further until a moment of explosion burying me with deep agony. This is the second time I heard those voices, I knew those were the voices of the Angel of Power, the guides of ascension.
"Huff...puff...huff...At such an age, you can be pulled into somethin' like this?  You're a monster, I tell ya!"
"I ain't!  It's your sister!"
After muttering those words the boy turned his gleaming eyes down piercing my veins.
"Come on Lino, I'm holding your sister's life...how long you're planning to knelt down with just a simple pain!" Miku muttered, kicking my face.
"Show me the power of Beast man!"
A misty book covered by shadow and blood emerged at his hand, then he picked up the pouch and tossed it at me. Dizziness blurred my vision, but the image of the smile in my sister's face burned bright. I reached for the pouch, my mouth desperately clawing in the mud.
My heart is bursting inside, sweat and heating melt my mind down. 'I gotta git mah sister outta this here pouch!'
"Hee hee hee...Bwa ha ha!, aren't you so disparate...?"
"Lawd, leave my sister alone!  This is on me, I reckon."
"Eh? I remember that your sister is the one who ambushed me earlier!"
"Naw, ma lil' sista ain't gonna hurt nobody.  She jes' got done bein' possessed by that there Gorthok fella's will..." I protested, but Miku seemed to never care about it.
"Y'all're just blaming the Prophet's jurisdiction, yet you accept the fact that your sister was cursed and poisoned by your own mistakes, what a pathetic choice!" He exclaimed.
"Y'all know nothin' 'bout me, nor nothin' 'bout ma sufferin'! Y'all ain't got no right to judge me!" I shouted, my voice filled with anger.
"Sniff...sniff...sniff...! How sad, look I'm sobbing! Please accept my heartwarming condolences..."
"Zip yer sharp mouth!" I gritted my teeth, gulping his word.
"Hmm...! What about your faithful fake promise, did you already forget it?"
"Ain't gonna lie, ain't planning to do somethin' that like this, I tell' ya the truth!"
"Truth?, don't be shy I knew you weren't! Unlike you I'm committed to my promise...!"
"What you sayin', sugar?"
"Let me revoke our burying trade once more... sounds good?"
"Why'd ya do that? Ya feelin' sorry fer me?"
"It's simple I want to enjoy my time..." He whispered, and walked a few tiles away from me.
"Whahahah...! For real, y'all?" Laughing I mumbled, tearing my eyes into tears.
"Let's make it simple... I'm going to help you cure your sister in exchange for becoming my loyal dog and never bark back...!"
"Sounds mighty suspicious comin' from a monster hidin' in a boy's body, I tell ya!"
"Then why not form a Curse vow?"
"Ha...?" My jaw almost fell down.
'Curse vow? He's plumb crazy, or somethin'!' I whispered underneath my thoughts, knowing that Curse vows are unbreakable and dangerous.
"Where'd ya learn all that, sugar?" I asked.
Curse vows are vow only performed by desperate men cause it holds heavy obligation, yet this boy is recklessly wanting to use that just for this deal.
He did answer and just clap his arms like a lost child, "You already got a whole heap of power, so why waste it on me? I'm the only one gettin' somethin' out of this deal. Are you crazy as a bedbug?"
"I think your stench already surpasses your mind, I didn't possess any evident power..." He paused and glared at me with a wide grin.
"Life is just a role play, a play of mind, a child's play, and a move towards a certain goal not a goblin's shit...if you think I'm doing it out of a pity you better dig your own grave!"
I glanced at his gentle back with a little flame of administration growing in my chest.
"I'll tell you something...one day everything will perish including everyone's suffering, sounds good right...? Yet silence of sadness will remain inside the lost memories, I told you before show me the power of the beast!" He uttered glaring at his fading domain.
The grassy and blue sky domain returned to dark muddy forest, the sky was filled with clouds and the rain poured like a waterfall accompanied by roaring songs of thunder.
The pain swallowing me before disappeared and was replaced by cold and simmering air. I could finally move my body and my chopped shoulder turned back to normal.
"Take the pouch and release your sister, i need to find a shelter!" Miku muttered, he glanced at his left side where a giant tree was planted, a misty bear covering a golden haired girl from the rain was quietly taking shelter in the branches.
He started to walk in the shallow rain, I grabbed the pouch and shouted, "Oh Grace thank you...! Please let me know your mighty name!"
The rain gently rubbed my skin, the taste of sweet water droplets filled my empty mouth. I wait for his response and quietly stared at my hands.
He paused and remained silent for a few seconds before answering my question.
"No demand was needed...! Remember my name, I'm Miku y Salvador, the Peacekeeper!" He uttered and the book on his hands faded into darkness.
His words entered into my head making the flame inside me become stronger and hotter. "Looks like I ain't gonna scratch my face any more!" I whispered.
