37. Tribe's secret [Arc3]

'This is not a tribe at all!' I whispered, my eyes widened as I walked in the street.
Although the foundation is soft and reddish rammed earth, the walls and roof were made out of wild grass, leaves, and weeds. From those slender houses, 'a rat's house... The cold shimmer of wind washed my body, memories of my dare and tiny house built in my guts.
Even when I looked at their house, I felt no sympathy, nor felt ache on my chest, maybe I'm used to seeing that stuff.
The surroundings are rich in materials, yet they're living out of logic.  Why don't they just cut off some trees and get some rocks from the slope?
"Here y'all are!"
A trembling, yet cheerful voice bid my leaping mind. Lhara walked by my side, her gentle hand slowly touched mine. I glanced at her twinkling and fluffy crimson eyes as she held my hand.
Gulping my courage I tried to speak, but Lhara dismissed me by putting her ring finger on my lips.
"...?!"
"You seemed to be lost in your thoughts" said Lhara. "Are you wondering something?" She added, looking curious as she poked my face.
My voice was in the tip of my tongue, yet my chest prevented it from leaking. I'm so lost, I even forgot the sounds of the word.
Lhara continues to stare at me, doesn't she have enough time to tease me?
She released my hand and stepped back, "You give every drop of honey to that girl, yet they thought you still have many. Those are from Elder Phramos right? Where are you planning to get some?"
"I'm not planning to do anything yet!"
"But you said you'll teach them how to farm honey...!" She counter.
"We are just here to gather information and I don't really know how to farm honey." I scoffed.
"Huh?!"
The truth is, I don't even know how the honey liquid is formed, all I know is it comes from flying insects called bees. In my past life, I never tasted honey syrup nor tried to study them, this makes me ignorant and I know I'm lacking some common sense.
"For real? Are you crazy?" Said Lhara.
"No doubt!" I declared.
Squeezing the memories of those I killed, I found nothing about honey, maybe I didn't even kill someone who's good in culinary arts.
I'm not interested in this tribe so I just continued to walk. Lhara followed me with disappointment, her cherry body seemed drained like a person with anemia.
"Wanna drink mine?" I stopped and loosened my clothes revealing my neck.
"What...?!" Lhara shouted, like an afraid cat.
"You're a half vampire right?, I'm still wondering if you might want my blood."
"Yackkk..!" She muttered.
"Don't yack at me, you already drink my blood!" I proudly boosted.
"Eh?!, what do you meannn...!"
"Remember when you ain't feeling well, I thought you're sick due to your bloodlust so I secretly put my blood on your food!"
"You...put...your...blood and feed...it to me?!"
"Yes! All vampires drink blood right? If you're hungry you can take a sip on mine!"
That when I noticed her face turned into a crimson flower, 'what's wrong with her?'
I held her shoulder, but her blushing face became more vibrant.
"That's inappropriate!" She whispered.
"How come?" I pressed.
"...your sneaky! Don't you know that vampires only drink blood from their lover or partner. It's a sexual-intercourse for them!" Lhara explained.
"You mean drinking blood is for married vampires?"
Lhara only nodded her head, I closed my eyes realizing my mistake. But suddenly, a demi-human with silky golden fur emerges, his jet-black eyes were narrowed.
Then Tina appeared on his back, she grinned and walked beside Lhara.
"Father let me introduce them to ya, this is Lhara a girl from the north and this is Miku a honey farmer from the same region!"
"Oh! Nice to see both of ya" said the father of Tina. "I'm Megor, the chief of this tribe!" He then glanced at me with a wide smile.
"I'm Miku y Salvador, it's my pleasure to see a great leader like you!"
"Thanks! My daughter brought yer honey at home, it was delicious', she tried to hide ya for ma' scent jus' to monopolize yer honey" Megor exclaimed.
"Papa!"
"Whahaaha..!" Megor laughed and glanced at Lhara. "Looks like y'all're his wife!"
Lhara almost passed out as she answered, "I'm...not...!"
"Oh! Ain't ya his wife, then ya his fiancée! I tell' y'all Miku ya had a good girl!" Mockingly said Megor.
"You might be mistaken, she's not my fiancee or something, we are just companions!" I mumbled, brushing off their misunderstanding.
"Oww...! I thought she was yer sugar! Don'cha know ya two had charisma–."
Then another demi-human appeared on Megor's back, she gripped Megor's shoulder and gently poured a smirk on her face.
"I apologize for the trouble that my husband and daughter caused ya!" The lady apologized and bowed her head down.
"Don't worry about it, instead we are the ones who should be grateful for your generosity!"
"It was jus' a fair trade!" She responded and gestured to follow. "It's getting dark, let's discuss this later on, I can tell'y'all' are hungry!"
I turned my gaze at the sky and found that a few moons were already sitting beside the skylight. I spend most of my time wandering around and I even forgot to eat for lunch.
My stomach cries, begging for food so I accepted her invitation and walked as a group, I found myself being drowned by the conversation as we walked passing some trees.
After a minute of chatting we reached a focal point where a vibrant yet bleak lamp welcomed us. Glancing to the house, i found that the chief house was made of polished limestone, granite, and marble.
From outside, the door seemed to be normal, but upon my close observation, it was probably made out of acacia or oak wood.
Lhara held the edge of my clothes and pouted her face, "I'm hungry!" She whispered.
I patted her head and mocked, "Want my blood?"
She quickly reacted by frowning and mumbled, "Ewww...!"
Tina opened the door and said, "Come in!"
Lhara pierced her eyes at me and gently entered the room. I quickly followed her and sat beside the wooden table.
"Gonna catch a quick snooze before supper!" Tina mumbled, entering one of the rooms.
"Make sure to wake up!" Her mother was reminded.
I stood up and glanced at the kitchen, "If you allow me I can help you in cooking." I said even I know a little bit about food.
After hearing my offer, Lhara quickly stood up and forcefully pressed me down.
"I think I'm more suitable than him! You are exhausted right?, just take your time resting!" Lhara uttered, glaring at me with her sharp eyes.
She was probably afraid of me putting my own blood on the food...
"Ya! I heard' ya wandered around for hours, ya must rest!" Tina's mother muttered agreeing to Lhara's sluggish suggestion.
Then the two left me behind with a muscle man around me, "Guess ain't ya gonna lie down here!" Megor exclaimed.
"How about a quick walk outside?" I suggested, lacing with doubts.
"That's great!" Megor laugh.
I followed him out where the darkness resides, the cold whisper of wind touched my turbulent skin. The quilted skies filled with sparkling diamonds cascaded through my eyes.
I just followed Megor and found an old house that was burned down, the remnants of marble walls crushed my eyes.
"What a view!" I mumbled, glancing at the tip of the roof where the blue moon, Doima was currently resting.
"Yeah, Doima was really beautiful." Megor exclaimed.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure!"
"I'm still wondering why the houses around were made out of wild grass and not like this house and your house?"
"That's 'cause of the prophet of the good ol' earth, y'all!" He muttered.
"We're merely stewards of this fine land. Cutting trees and diggin' holes? That jest don't sit right with us, y'hear?" He added.
"Then why was Lino rebelling against the Prophet of Earth?"
"I reckon yer conductin' some fine work! Inquirin' about Lino's whereabouts, gettin' the scoop. Keep on sleuthin'!"
"It looks like I can't get any straightforward answer from you!"
"Gettin' interested on somethin' out of y'all plates, y'all a bad kid!"
I sighed and took out the magical pouch, I pulled a black seed and showed it to him, "This is my last Titan seeds, I hope you're going to be serious!"
He carefully glanced at my hands and gulped his doubt.
"What a valuable seed, are y'all about to open the temple of Taal?!"
Megor laughed and glanced again at the moon. He walked towards the ruined house and muttered, "Lino is a child of the Waran family, that's the main reason!"
"What's wrong with being a part of the Waran family?" I asked.
"Nothing wrong with the Waran family, but they are part of Scorpio and Cancer lineages marking them as an excellent in shadow work or assassination."
Megor's way of speaking suddenly changed, making me wonder if he was playing with me.
"This is their house, the Prophet's knights burned it six months ago!" He explained, picking the debris.
Although I'm not really convinced, I just accept his words and throw them outside my left ear.
"We can talk later! I'm already hungry!" I muttered.
"Y'all're right!" He whispered.
I walked towards the house and left the chief alone, I wasted my time wandering around asking about Lino early at the other demi-human folks, and now I want to have a nice meal and some comfortable sleep.
