For the first time in my life, I felt an unbearable pain. I want to scream but no words came from my mouth. The pain is devouring my sanity, like I am going crazy from this. I can't take it anymore.
" M-mint... "
Even speaking is so hard for me. I can only mumble his name, hoping that he would hear it.
" Sumiko! "
I felt a small warm hand gripping mine. The warmth from this hand is like a small faint light in blinding darkness. Ah! I think my mind is not working well. I think pain have made me gone crazy. I am thinking of deep things. That's not so me.
" DARN MINT! SUMIKO IS POISONED! "
I couldn't think clearly with this writhing pain. Nonetheless, I can still recognize Lilith's voice. She is saying something I couldn't understand well.
" MINT! WE SHOULD GET OUTTA HERE! " 
Suddenly a small arms lifted me. At first I thought it was Mint, but when I smell a faint scent of medicine, I knew it wasn't him.
I struggled hard to stay conscious despite the numbing pain. I need to stay awake. I can't pass out. That would be so lame.
The moment I opened my eyes, I saw Lilith's worried face.
" Lilith what happened to me? "
She look at me and replied in voice full of concern.
" You have been shot. "
I frowned. As far as I remember, I also have been shot before at the leg.  But I've never felt this kind of pain. This pain is so extremely agonizing that I silently wish that I would faint on the spot. 
" Put me down. "
Lilith shook her head.
" Put me down please. I can walk. "
" No! The bullet they used in you is not an ordinary one. It was soaked in a chemical solution and is highly poisonous. If you keep on moving around, I'm afraid you won't make it on time. "
Chemical solution huh? Tss. Chemistry punishes me now for not studying it well.
I didn't argue with her anymore. I look away to hide my pain and fear from her but I saw the unconscious body of Choco lying plain in the ground. No! We can't leave her like that.
" Lilith. " Even talking feels painful. I could only mumble my words. " Choco. "
Without looking at me, she answered. " Don't worry. She'll be fine. "
I stopped talking. Oh. I just wish all of them could make it out alive. Now I regret doing impulsive decision of saving Choco, I only put others in danger.
Lilith is walking fast, not running, but fast enough. I know what she is doing, she is taking me out of this situation. But I don't want to get out when I'm not sure that everyone is safe.
While we are getting away, I look at Mint for the last time. He is still fighting those gunned men. The funny thing is, he didn't even get harmed by bullets.
Some guys tried to rain bullets on us but Lilith managed to dodge them perfectly.
" Lilith, what if I became cat? You can carry me easily that way. " I suggested.
But she shook her head.
" No. The poison will increase rapidly if you do that. Hang on for a second. We are almost close to the gate. "
The gate. Finally. We can escape here. I look at the gate which is just a few meters away from us. There is no sign of any creature here. Sir Zurich really did a good job of creating a diversion for us.
I smiled when we reach the gigantic gate of the compound. Lilith will be safe after this. I wonder how the others are doing.
I look back for the last time but I saw something that makes my heart beat like crazy. A guy of his early twenties is standing behind the bushes, with a gun on his hand aiming at me. He is smirking like crazy. I watch fearfully as he move his fingers to pul the trigger.
*Bang*
And everything went black.
*   *   *
" How long will she sleep? "
" Hush. Keep quiet. Let her rest. "
" She's f*cking resting for almost two days! "
I slowly opened my eyes when I hear voices around me. Among them is the frantic voice which I won't ever forget.
" Where am I? Who are you? " 
The moment I opened my eyes, I saw some pairs of eyes eyeing me anxiously. They look at me as if I have grown pair of horns.
" What the heck! Are you nuts Sumiko? " A pair of arms tried to pull my hair.
" Stop it Choco! You'll kill her! "
Others tried to stop her but she is so persistent.
" No! Let me fix her brain! What the heck is she trying to say? "
" But, I really don't know you. Are you my mother perhaps? "
Her eyes widened and her mouth hang open.
" Y-y-you... "
" Hahaha! " I burst out laughing. Gosh! She's so hilarious. Her wide open mouth and her small eyes painted with shock really hit me big time. Hahaha.
" Oh! I think you already recovered from your injury to pull a prank like that! " She said and rolled her eyes.
I just chuckled at her.
My eyes wandered around and I saw all of them eyeing me with anxiousness. But there's someone missing. She wasn't here at all.
" Hey Choco. " I tried to get her attention but she pulled me into a crushing hug.
" Thank goodness you're okay. I thought... I thought... " Her voice trembled like she was on the verge of crying.
" Uh. Can't breathe Choco. " I mumbled my words since she hug me really tight. Besides, it's so awkward that I don't know what to say.
She broke away from the hug and I saw her secretly wiping her tears.
" Are you crying? "
" Of course, you stupid! Who wouldn't cry? If you died, who would've cook for me? I will starve to death! "
Hahaha.
" Lilith. " All of the sudden, her name came out of my mouth. I don't know but I felt unexplainable sadness the moment I say her name.
" Where is Lilith? "
The moment I ask that question, the room became dead quiet.
" What? Where is she? She didn't went back to the Hunter's base, right? "
Choco slowly shook her head. I sighed of relief. Then, she is fine as long as she didn't​ go back.
" Where is she now? "
" She's dead. "
