Chapter 113 And the Villain Showed Up
♫ Kevz ♫
We immediately looked for our table as soon as we got inside the club. I can see the guys looking at us as we pass them by.
Why not? Lemon’s having a cloth crisis again and she’s very sexy in her outfit. Even Drew frowned after seeing what she was wearing when she came out of the restroom earlier.
It only took the guys ten minutes to start sending drinks to our table for Lemon. All she did is say thanks and down all her glasses.
“Partner, enough!” I told her off after she downed her sixth glass. “You might get drunk before we can even start!”
“Sorry,” she grinned. “I don’t know why I suddenly feel nervous.”
After a while, a waiter approached us to inform us to get ready for our set. That’s when we found out we’re doing requests night. That means we practiced for nothing.
“I’ll just go to the restroom,” Lemon told us and I volunteered to accompany her.
Of course, I thought of something again. When we reached the restroom, I slipped to the DJ’s booth and gave him two pieces of paper. That’s what he’ll be giving Kip later for our set.
When Lemon came out, she looked around, as if checking how big our audience will be. But her eyes landed on one specific table that made her sigh.
I looked in the direction she was looking and even I was surprised. It was Nica and her group, sitting not far from our spot.
When we came back, Nica stood up along with Yvo and approached us. “Hi Lemon!” Yvo greeted and she responded with a wide smile.
“Hi, Drew!” Nica greeted to which he just nodded. “Thank you for inviting us, see you around,” then she turned her back on us.
Lemon looked at Nica as she retreats while Drew frowned. The wrinkles on his forehead were very obvious after what Nica said.
I, on the other hand, can only massage the back of my head. It seems like the villain is trying to stir trouble again. I applaud her guts though, as far as I know, the case against her is still ongoing but here she goes again.
When we were called for our set, Lemon downed a full glass of beer. She then snatched a tissue and wiped her mouth before heading to the stage.
The DJ passed the papers to Kip and I can’t stop myself from smiling. Especially after Kip passed it to Lemon and she started checking on it.
We started with Lemon greeting the crowd. Some of the male audience even shouted ‘I love you’ and she responded to them happily while Drew scowled behind his drums.
We’re already done with five songs but the pieces of paper keep coming. That means more people are sending their requests.
When Lemon announced the next song, I smiled and looked at Drew. It’s for him and I hope he likes it.
“Ever since the day you went away and left me lonely and cold,” Lemon started and when I looked at her, she was pointing at me as if she knew what I did but I just feigned innocence.
I suddenly recalled how Drew was very smug when he told us that it was Lemon’s song for him. He bragged about it for weeks.
After the first half of the set, we took a break as Lemon looked like she was about to pass out. She’s already slang and it seems like alcohol already hit her.
“Let me see Kip,” gesturing the papers in her cousin’s hand.
“This one needs a male vocal,” I chirped as I peek into the papers while Lemon looks at it.
Homme offered his hand and Lemon handed the papers to him and picked the one I’m referring to. Then he returned the rest of it to Kip.
“Negative, it’s Daughtry!” Homme exclaimed.
“Kip can do that,” Roj nods to our friend but he shook his head.
“I’ve been coughing for days. I don’t think I can sing now,” he chuckled.
“Let Drew sing it then,” I suggested and we were all surprised when he nodded without second thoughts.
“Are you sure?” Kip asked along with the announcement of our second set.
“Let’s go!” Drew responded, wiping his hands on his pants as he stood up.
We paused for a while, still in disbelief, until Roj stood up, followed by Kip, Homme, and me. Lemon, on the other hand, stayed at our table as it was Drew who will be singing the first song.
Lemon can’t stop staring at him, especially when he started singing. Even I can’t believe he’s this good as he doesn’t usually sing.
While singing, Drew didn’t take his eyes off of Lemon. He would sometimes frown when she keeps drinking, but even after the song ended, he was just looking at her.
Before going upstairs, she took another swig of beer and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. She was already swaying but fortunately, she made it on the stage, and thankfully, we ended our set smoothly.
We stayed at the bar for another half an hour before everyone decided to go home. Kale will be driving as Kip and Homme are both drunk.
Roj called their driver and I’m supposed to go home with Drew and Lemon. But since I want to help the two, I decided to leave them alone.
“Partner, I don’t think I can go with you. Mom texted, she asked me to pick her up because she’s having a hard time getting a taxi,” I explained. I didn’t drink much so I won’t have a hard time driving. Drew, on the other hand, is a bit tipsy too so they should ride a cab.
Before they could protest, I slipped inside my car and immediately closed the door. I even clasp my hands to utter a short prayer before turning the engine on.
‘Destiny, I’ll leave it all to you.’

I was surprised when Leslie leaned on my shoulder, “I’m so drunk,” she whispered before giggling.
“You drink too much,” I whispered back.
“They keep coming,” she replied. “It will be a waste not to drink them,” then she turned to her side and wrapped an arm around my neck.
I snaked an arm around her waist for support as her position was a bit awkward. And my heartbeat grew louder, I can even hear them in my ears.
“Les…” I called when I felt her tongue on my earlobe then she stopped.
“Why are you suddenly cold? Is it because you saw Nica?” she smirked then turned to face the window, looking outside.
My forehead creased, confused by what she said. I wanted to think she was jealous but I don’t want to give myself any false hopes too.
I think she believed what Nica said earlier. That I invited them to watch our gig. But instead of explaining, I just hugged her. Even if she’s trying to brush me off, I didn’t let go.
When we reached Costas, she quickly slipped out of the card. She didn’t even look back nor wait for me to finish paying.
I run to close the distance between us, disregarding the tipsiness I’m feeling. In one scoop, I carried her to the elevator, but she was just quiet.
I opened her unit and carried her straight to her bedroom, putting her down on her bed carefully. “Les, I didn’t invite her, ok?”
She didn’t respond and just continued trying to get her shoes off. She was struggling, likely because of her drunk state.
I tried to help her but she keeps slapping my hand. regardless, I still tried to help her and when we succeeded, she quickly laid down and covered herself with a blanket, from head to toe.
I sat at the foot of her bed, watching her until she stopped moving. “Les, don’t you want to talk to me? Don’t you trust me?” but she still didn’t respond. And so with heavy feet, I stood up and walked to her door. “I’m going home.”
She still didn’t respond but as I take another step, she hugged me from the back by the waist. “Drew, please stay…”Download Novelah App
