CHAPTER 53

Sunny
"Mavin!" They greeted each other excitedly and ran towards Mavin.
Mavin was surprised at first. I even saw him blink thrice.
He was trying to confirm if they were really real.
Well, I was staring at them stupidly a while ago too.
They are too pretty and handsome for me. I feel like I have been starstruck by seeing them up close. If they were my idols and I saw them face to face, I would faint instantly!
"How are you guys? It's good to see you!" Mavin greeted them back.
I headed to the kitchen and quickly told Grandma what was happening at the sala.
"Grandma, they have a visitor today. Do you think we need to cook another dish for the visitors?" I told her.
Grandma looked confused, "Visitor? Why did not they tell me about it, I should have cooked more." Grandma said.
"I do not think they know about that either. Steven and Mavin were surprised by their sudden visit here. Don't worry, I will prepare what they can eat. You can just cook more rice for them. I will do the dish." I volunteered and opened the refrigerator to see what I could cook.
"I will just make chicken fillets." I decided and took the chicken out of the refrigerator and started moving.
I quickly moved to make sure that we would not let them starve. I do not feel like making them starve. I won't dare do that to those pretty and handsome people. No, not on my watch.
"Grandma, Sunny, are you still busy?" Mavin asked when he got inside the kitchen.
"Sunny is making another dish for your visitors. So you can all eat lunch together." Grandma replied.
"Oh, right. I am sorry about that. We should have ordered food online." He said.
"Don't worry. This will not take an hour. You can go back there, do not mind us here." I replied.
Mavin shook his head. "That is why I came here, because we want to introduce you to our friends. Actually, they were Steven's friends, but I became close with them as time passed by." he answered.
"You do not have to. They are your visitors, we will just stay here." Grandma said. "We are not supposed to go out unless you need our help with something." She added.
I quietly nodded to the side, as I prepared to cook the chicken.
"Why are you saying this, Grandma? I am disappointed. We are a family here, and they already know about you and your family." He replied, with disappointment in his voice. "You are hurting me. Do you not think of us as your family too?" He then asked.
"No, no. It's not like that. I am happy that you are treating us as your family too, but it feels like we should not do that. I am sorry." Grandma explained.
I nodded, agreeing with what Grandma said.
We have the same opinion.
"I can't meet them again. They look so gorgeous, while I am just a walking potato. Reeking of sweat, I do not think I can." I commented.
I feel like crying too.
"They are so pretty. Have you seen the only girl―ah no, you guys are friends. She is so pretty! I never saw anyone that pretty! I envy her. As for the boys, they are too handsome. I thought you guys were the most handsome people I would be able to meet, but look at them! Another super handsome person! I feel like fainting."
"Is your hometown full of gorgeous people?"
"I can't believe it. Are they models, famous actors or actresses, or vloggers? I will make sure to get their autographs." I added, telling Mavin my feelings.
Mavin laughed at me after that. "Gosh, Sunny. You are cute, panicking like a child. But you are right about them. Two of them are models, and the other two are game vloggers." He replied.
My jaw dropped. "I knew it. Those kinds of faces deserve to be seen worldwide―but what about you and Steven? You might be able to be like them. You are both handsome. You will also look young if you stand next to them." I asked curiously.
Mavin pinched my cheek. "You are flattering me, but I like my job more. Steven would not like that kind of job too, you know how quiet he is and he does not like crowded people." He explained.
"Aww," I commented, admiring his answer. "Good decision, I do not think I will be able to get close to you guys if you are famous. I would not dare!" I commented.
"Silly. Why are you saying things like that? You will meet them later, whether you like it or not." He answered. "They want to meet the people who were taking care of us. You guys are famous in their eyes too." He added.
"Don't say that." I scolded him. "You are making me shy more. Just go and please tell them to wait for a while. Go out now, we won't finish this if you are here." I added.
Mavin raised his arms and said, "Okay, I will go out. If you guys are done, tell us. We will help you prepare the food." He said.
Grandma and I nodded before Mavin finally went out of the kitchen.
"Are they too good?" Grandma asked.
I nodded immediately. "If there is one word I can describe them, it would be goddess, Grandma." I replied. "They have this celebrity aura, they look so fine! They are tall as well, like Mavin and Steven. We will look small beside them." I shared information.
"Really?" Grandma is now curious about the visitor. "Do you think we need to fix ourselves first before meeting them? We need to look okay in front of them." Grandma made a suggestion, to which I immediately agreed.
"We need you too, Grandma. We brought the perfume with us, right? We need to smell good. That is the only way we can redeem ourselves. Their beauty is on the next level." I responded.
We heard them laugh in the sala, which made me panic again.
I feel dizzy just thinking about being with them later.
I will look like a small potato later. Why am I being surrounded by gorgeous people? I want to cry.
After a few minutes, Grandma and I worked together to fry the chicken fillet. We called Mavin by texting him to come to the kitchen again and help us put them in the dining room.
We also told him that he should give us a few minutes to fix ourselves, which he gladly accepted. We quickly move to the storage room to change clothes and wipe our sweat away.
We need to get rid of the reeking smell of sweat. We need to look more presentable than I was a while ago. I just want to cry out of embarrassment. First impressions last, they said, and here I am ruining it already. Gosh. This is killing me.
"Sunny, Grandma, are you done?" I heard Steven calling us outside the storage room.
"W-we are good." I answered and quickly opened the door.
"Do we look okay?" Grandma asked Steven.
Steven sighed. "Why do you need to impress them? They are just my friends. They are kind too. You guys are worrying too much." Steven said. "You look good, Grandma. Always good." He added that it made Grandma hit him lightly.
"Let's head to them now. We should not make them wait for us more. It's better to get this done fast." Grandma said, and started to walk.
"I am nervous." I commented.
"You met them already." he replied.
"I know, but I am still nervous. Do we really look okay? We do not smell bad, right?" I asked him again.
He sighed once more. "You are pretty." He replied, That made my jaw drop. "You are pretty like Karina, why are you so worried? You smell good too. You guys did not shower all your perfume, right?" He asked, laughing at his own remarks.
I hit him lightly too. "We did not." I answered.
When we got to the dining room, the four of them quickly greeted us excitedly.
"It's finally nice to see you, Grandma. We heard a lot of good things about you. " Bryan said and went to Grandma to hug her.
"Thank God it was a good thing." Grandma replied as she hugged Bryan back.
After they separated, Bryan turned to me and extended his hands. I was about to hold his hand for a handshake when Steven stopped me.
"No touching. I do not like it." He told me.
My forehead creased, trying to register what he meant by that.
The other people around us started teasing us.
"Oooh! This is really Steven's clingy era." Bryan announced.
"I told you!" Mavin said proudly.
I do not know how I should react.
"Let's stop this and start eating. We can continue this as we eat." Steven said before guiding Grandma to sit in the chair.
"W-we do not have to―"
"No, eat with us." Mavin interrupted.
"Yeah, please eat with us. We want to talk to you guys. We also heard about the tasty dishes here. We are honored to taste your cooking skills, Grandma and Sunny." Karina said, smiling prettily.
My heart, awww.
"Let's start eating!" Glenn said.
"Thanks for the food!" Ethan also commented.
They started eating, and that made me nervous in my seat.
I am waiting for their response on whether they liked the dishes we made.
"So good!"
"No wonder! Steven and Mavin love your dishes!"
They complimented.
I can see Grandma sighed in relief after hearing this.
"I am glad you like it too." Grandma replied.
We started eating after that.
The lunch ended up with them praising us from time to time. I can feel my ears getting hot from shyness.
"Sunny, is Steven doing well in your school? He decided to transfer because he was not satisfied with our learning curriculum." Ethan asked.
"I did not say that though." Steven commented.
"Whatever. So is he doing bad or not?" He asked me again.
"He is doing really well. He is our savior with our professors' hard questions. He is too much genius for us." I answered.
They all nodded back at me.
"I can feel you. That is what is running through my mind too. Steven is like a monster when it comes to using his brain." Glenn added, which made me agree.
Ethan nodded beside him. "His brain is like a big library. It feels like he is eating the books he is reading. How can someone be that brainy, right?" He even asked, which made me nod too.
"Sunny." Steven called me.
I turned to him and saw his eyebrows arching.
"What? He is right though?" I asked him. "Are we supposed to not say it? Sorry?" I added, after realizing that I should not have said that in the first place. "Sorry." I apologized again.
His lips quirked disbelievingly before he faced the television. The other starts laughing again. That causes me to get embarrassed.
I am sure I offended him again.
Why am I not thinking carefully!?
"Does he have many friends now? Does he communicate too?" Karina asked.
I nodded excitedly. "He is friends with our classmates now. Especially with the boys, sometimes they all eat together and call it boys bonding." I shared. "Whether he likes it or not, the boys will not let him off. He plays online games too." I added.
"Really?!" Bryan and Glenn both asked.
"You play games now right? You play with Marco and Philip usually." I asked Steven.
"I am. You know the survival game?" Steven replied.
The four of them gasped.
"OMG! YOU CHANGED!"
"I GUESS, YOU, GOING HERE IS NOT A BAD DECISION AT ALL!"
"I AM SO PROUD OF YOU, MAN!"
"BUT I AM SAD THAT YOU JUST GOT TO DO THAT HERE, WHEN WE ALL DID OUR BEST TO MAKE YOU COOPERATE WITH US."
They all commented.
I can't help but smile at them.
"I think there is one way you did not do it in the first place." I told them.
They stopped and looked at me.
"What is it?" they asked.
"You should have forced him, even though he said he did not like it." I replied. "My classmates are persistent in making him their friend. They would not let him live peacefully and make sure he was included in everything."
"There are times when he is still new at our school and does not want to communicate and play with them. So what our classmates did was they stayed around Steven's chair and made him do everything until he did it. "
"That's how they got him." I shared.
"Are humans this cool?"
