7. Fighting the Snake Monster

Slowly Chan Do's body began to be covered in scales, causing the small god to scream in pain. His legs and arms started to coil beside his body stiffly. His tongue suddenly elongated and forked, his voice also changed to resemble that of a snake.
Gradually, Chan Do began to resemble a giant snake. Until finally, his form changed entirely into that of a glossy black-scaled serpent with silver motifs.
A god bitten by Shénmì Shé would transform into a giant snake. Shénmì Shé would take over the god's consciousness entirely upon fusion. However, after the fusion process occurred, the god transformed into a snake would die completely. Shénmì Shé would take over the intelligence and abilities of the bitten god. Shénmì Shé, once fused with the god, would evolve into an intelligent monster, often deliberately used as a weapon by high-level combat gods.
Lan Ming pulled out his bamboo staff, then transformed it into a flute and began to dance, mimicking the movements of a snake.
Shénmì Shé followed the sound of the flute and appeared hypnotized. Lan Ming then transformed his flute back to its original form, then stabbed the giant snake's lower jaw and forced it to open its mouth wide.
As Shénmì Shé opened its mouth wide, Lan Ming released a liquid from his mouth, transforming it into a white sand-like substance with a gentle breeze. Lan Ming directed the sand-like particles into the snake's mouth.
The snake emitted a loud sound, writhing like a snail exposed to salt. Until finally, it emitted hot vapor and its skin slowly melted. Now, Shénmì Shé almost resembled a partially skull-shaped snake. And in the skull part of the head, Chan Do's unconscious figure could be seen. He was still alive.
Lan Ming leaped towards the snake's head, then carried Chan Do's limp body.
Was he okay? Lan Ming wondered when he noticed snake scales on Chan Do's face, legs, and hands. The Wind God then lowered Chan Do's body and moved him to a safer place.
Shénmì Shé, still not entirely defeated, attempted to attack Lan Ming again. The giant snake spat out a clear liquid towards Lan Ming.
Lan Ming managed to dodge it, but he was careless. When he was about to fight the giant snake again, his indifference to the clear liquid spat by the giant snake made him overlook its effects. For the second attack, the liquid hit his right hand. Apparently, the clear liquid had a petrifying effect like stone. And its impact was only visible after some time, which is why Lan Ming didn't notice it quickly.
"Damn, I was careless," Lan Ming muttered, enduring the pain and had to retreat. His right hand hardened like stone, rendering it temporarily useless. This was quite dangerous for him, as he was quite weak when fighting; he had to use both legs effectively instead of his right hand. Although his attack became slightly weaker, Lan Ming could still use both legs as a substitute for his right hand.
Lan Ming then ran at high speed, creating a sandstorm from the sand around him. Fortunately, the Wind City was a dimension he deliberately made in the atmosphere of the desert. Light sand was very suitable to combine with the wind, which was his divine power.
Not wanting to be outdone, the giant snake moved agilely to attack Lan Ming. Although half of its body now resembled a skull, it did not reduce its still agile movements.
The sandstorm had been created; Lan Ming used his left hand to control the storm and attack the giant snake. The giant snake got trapped in the sandstorm. Lan Ming then quickly sealed the giant snake within the Soul Squeezer seal. Where any creature would experience extreme pain before its soul was forcibly squeezed while within Lan Ming's sandstorm vortex.
Until finally, the giant snake was completely dead. Lan Ming tried to heal himself. The Wind God closed his eyes for a moment, took a deep breath. And unexpectedly, when he exhaled, he felt his abdomen being stabbed by something sharp.
Lan Ming's eyes immediately went to his stomach, and he found a hand with snake scales attached to his skin. It was puncturing his abdomen and creating a quite large wound.
Blood flowed from Lan Ming's body. Although he was a god, it didn't mean he couldn't be hurt. In fact, a god could still die if he suffered a fatal injury to his body. However, if a god died, he would still return to his previous form, but the process of rebirth would take a very long time. Because the rebirth process was very long and cumbersome, the gods were very careful to protect themselves, just like humans.
"What are you doing, young man?" Lan Ming stared intently at Chan Do, who now seemed to be possessed by something powerful. The small god looked different, his pupils turned into snake-like, and parts of his body were covered in snake scales.

"Die! You must die!" Chan Do screamed, losing consciousness. When the young man opened his mouth, sharp fangs of a snake were visible. He even used those sharp fangs to attack Lan Ming.
Lan Ming stepped back, using his sand to form a barrier wall. However, it was easily destroyed by Chan Do just by using his forked tongue.
A powerful blow hit the face of the Wind God. He was almost thrown far away, but fortunately, Lan Ming used both of his legs to stand tall. After receiving the attack, the Wind God retaliated by grabbing Chan Do's neck and then slamming the young man's body very hard.
Chan Do stood up, screaming, and then his entire body emitted hot steam. His mouth opened wide, showing sharp fangs ready to injure and kill his opponent.
Lan Ming waved his hand in front of his face, laughing mockingly, "Kid, don't forget to brush those smelly teeth of yours!" he said casually.
Chan Do's neck suddenly elongated like a snake, his head swaying in the air at a very high speed. Until finally, it stopped right in front of Lan Ming's face. Chan Do opened his mouth wide, ready to devour the Wind God's head. But Lan Ming used his bamboo staff, placing it as a support inside the young man's mouth.
Chan Do's wide-open mouth, and even torn-looking, was used by Lan Ming to throw his Basket Cake into it. Of course, it wasn't just any cake; the cake was strengthened by Lan Ming's mantra so that anyone who ate it couldn't easily open their mouth.
Lan Ming shouted, chanting his mantra loudly, "Shāzi xīqǔ lìliàng!" And instantly, a giant bowl made of sand appeared, pouring sand into Chan Do's body. After pouring its contents into Chan Do's body, the sand bowl fell right under his body and covered his entire body like a shell. Until finally, the giant bowl exploded and spewed out black sands. The sand turning black indicated that the evil influence was successfully drawn out from the opponent's body.
