Without wasting another single minute, I knew that the scenario was going to happen faster than I thought. The way I saw the past, they seem to come to my home when Mom was almost home too, so that means Mom is definitely not far off.
The last time, I ran towards the right hand side, like I expected, I never saw Mom on that path, that means the left it is indeed, I just have to be calculative now not to twist things, because I don't think I would be getting another chance after this one.
Chronos is the one in danger if I try manipulating time, or am I the one in danger?, I can't really remember, but I just know that tampering with the time again should be a no no, a wasted ability I possess, which I can't use because of my previous mistakes.
I left through the back corner of the house I was hiding in, following through the half line as I made my way to go search for Mom. Coming out from the pathway, I headed down the street side, eyes looking around whether I can find my mom walking home, the fact she didn't own a vehicle is now to my own advantage.
Catching the glimpse of her would be easier, but I just have to look farther, luckily, she seems to be much closer than I expected. Oh God, it looks like I haven't seen her being her since forever, with the look on her face right now like she wasn't expecting to see me here really put a smile on my face, now I can save her and as well get this back to where it belongs.
“ Mom..... Hello Mom, Mom I've something I want to let you know, can we go somewhere private, somewhere away from here?....”
“ Somewhere private?..... The house is private, we can talk about anything when we get back home.....”
She tried to walk past me but I held her back gently, but my hands firm on her arms. “ Mom.... It's quite urgent, like it couldn't wait until we return home....”
The look on her face changed, like she knew I was up to something, confusion taking over her features. “ Wilfred..... Let's go home....” I held her back again, seriousness beginning to replace the fake laughter I was trying to put on. “ No Mom, home can wait, we've to talk about this.....”
I continued fighting on the matter, trying not to just allow her walk past me and head towards her last moments, I don't want to see her go through that again. “ Wilfred..... What have you done this time around?....” she asked, knowing that something was going on and I was trying to hide it in, not allowing her to know.
I don't know how to tell her this, I don't want to lie to her, those lies might make her want to continue on her path, so I believe the truth is what she needs right now, all she needs right now. “ Mom..... We've to go now, we're in danger.....” I said, tucking her arm with me so she could follow behind me, instead of following up, she resisted.
“ I ask what is it this time?.....” she pressed, not wanting to follow up with me. We can't just talk about this here, what if this people returns back and saw us along the road, what would be the use of all this I have done already?, It all will be nothing but a waste, I can't just let that happen.
“ Mom we can talk about this as we go, but for now, we've got to stay off the road..... If we're spotted here, we would be in danger and I can't protect you Mom, we should walk away from here.....”
“ I'm not stepping an inch away from here if you don't tell me exactly what is it that's going on....”
She stood on her ground, stood on what she just said, she said she wouldn't be making an inch, meaning that I can't be able to protect her if we stick to her stubbornness. “ Mom.... The moment we're spotted, we're dead, like totally dead, so if you don't want that to happen, then we should be on our way out of here.....”
“ I don't understand or know what you're talking about, but I think I'm going to be involving the police in this.....”
She said, pulling her phone out from her purse, operating quickly as if she really was trying to get in contact with the police. I think she really doesn't understand what I'm trying to say here, the police wouldn't be of any help in this matter, they wouldn't care about her like I do and if she really wants to find safety, then she should listen to me.
I snatched the phone away from her, trying to be rude, but if it will play a part in getting her to safety, then that's the only option, later we can talk about my disrespectfulness, but for now, her safety is all that matters.
“ Don't tell me we're running because of this in your hold?.....”
I looked at my hand, as if I have forgotten what I was holding, it's the blueprint of the museum building, she shouldn't know that I stole that, but to get her to follow me, I think I will have to share the truth with her again. While I was about to drop another speech, there was a gunshots, not one or two or three, but something like five different shots, making those around to fall to the ground to protect themselves. I was on the floor just like other citizens around, but my mom was still standing, with me bowing down before her to take cover, I saw the blood dripping down, falling like a dripping water right in front of me, looking up, it was my Mom, I couldn't protect her again.
