Fuck!..... it's now a matter of minutes to know whether my efforts were a total waste, where is my Mom, am I really that late?. With fast feets, I saw myself running back to the building, our house, going to search for Mom's whereabouts.
Distance away from me, I can make out her outfit, she was comfortably heading home, almost few steps left for her to get to our apartment. There's no way I can make it there without tampered with time, unless I am ready to let her go through whatever she's meant to go through.
How can I save her now?, How can I get this to pass without my Mom getting killed?. Knowing that each passing seconds is her losing her opportunity of survival, I knew that it's now or never, I should surely do this now.
Taking in a lot of air into my lungs, I stopped the time, I know that my breath wouldn't be enough for me when I get there, I'll have to tamper with time again after this time, but for now, I should get close to her first.
Almost getting to where she was frozen, I felt myself been grabbed from my run, I was swinged on the air for a few moments before being thrown away, my body landed on a nearby vehicle before falling to the floor, I looked to see what might've happened, and it was that same creature again, the time keeper.
With my breath almost lost, I decided to release the time..... I screamed on top of my voice, calling out to my mom who was almost at home. Can't she look around and see the uncertainty around?. The way the vehicle was packed in front of our home, it shows that something was going on in there. She was almost getting to the back side of their vehicle when I decided to stop the time again, knowing fully well that I have my time keeper to fight off.
Without wasting time or looking back, I took off again, out of nowhere, the figure appeared before me, swinging its hand at me, straight to my face, making me to throw myself to the ground for me to dodge the attack. This was a matter of time and survival, so I am not letting anything pass me by, immediately I got my hand on my mom's arm, I turned around to see a huge fist about to land on me from the time keeper, I released the time, the fist turning into thin air, the time keeper unseen as always as I was too quick to drag my mom, down, without allowing her to speak, I got my hand muffling her scream, so as to not alert the gang driver who sat in the car without detecting our presence.
My Mom's eyes were wide open, staring at me with shock, she couldn't believe what just happened, for her, it's definitely too quick, but for me, I wouldn't say too slow because I was in a struggle with my time keeper before completing the time pause, now hiding at the back side of the vehicle.
Knowing fully well that I've to do something before those inside step outside to see us here, I know that I'll have to stop the time again for the third time in a row just to get my plans to work, but speaking of strength, I do see the way my time keeper is catching on, like he's always there any moment I stop the time from moving, just have to brace up for this and go for the move again.
Without waiting for my mom to start asking questions, I took in a deep breath, here it goes again. Stopping the time, I looked around to see whether the time keeper was close, though it could appear from anywhere, at least I want to make sure of the direction I'm running towards to.
At first, I find it hard to move bodies that was on the pause, but ever since Chronos merged into me fully, I can now handle anything that I can possibly move, both humans and as well heavy objects. Picking up my mom from the back of the car where we were squatting to avoid being seen, I carried her with me, with a limited amount of breath, I know I'll have to find somewhere safe, somewhere we couldn't be seen, somewhere I wouldn't run out of breath before getting there.
The last place I hid near the waste bin seems to be a perfect spot to hide in for the moment, I just hope Mom doesn't give us away, or I can just take her to the other side of the house all at once as I wait on when the gang leaves, I'm definitely hunting down the gang leader in my own way possible, even if it involves having another struggle with my time keeper.
With us now away from the sight of the gang members, I resumed the time, really grateful that my time keeper didn't strike during this short period of time because this time I wasn't ready to give up, because that would make the gang members catch a glimpse of us, and to decide to stick around and fight will result to the time keeper successfully holding me captive if I wasn't careful enough.
My mom's eyes were wider in shock this time, just can't believe all that have happened within seconds for her and quiet a moment for me, she definitely saw this as me dragging her into hiding behind the vehicle out of nowhere and with an unpredictable speed, muffling her mouth shut, before she could even think of speaking, we're now here, so the shocking look on his face right now is quite understandable.
“ What..... What are you?....”
She was scared, eyes on me, chest rising and falling as if she was finding it hard to take in breath, gasping for breath because her body needs to reset and relax.
Without waiting to think of what answer to give to that question or just wave it away as I start explaining that I am her son, I just went straight to the point. “ I'm Chronos....”
