Sun glistened through the window this Saturday morning. I crawled down from the bed sluggishly as I heard my mom's voice calling me from the dining. I hurried to brush my teeth, wash my face and then clean it off with a towel. Now, walking to the dining, Harry rose as he saw me. Everyone looked at him.
"Why did you want to leave because of her?" Mrs. Eliza asked him, holding his hands. Harry sat back, gazing at my mom serving the food.
"I'm sorry mom," I said, "I can't stay and eat with him." Everyone was shocked as I walked back to my room, and I know you would be shocked, too. I shocked myself too, and in that tiny minutes, I felt joy arising in me for retaliating.
"Annie." I heard Mr. Williams, Harry's father calling my name, and knocking at my door. "What's going on between you guys?"
The knob on the door turned and the door was opened. I hate myself for not locking the door. My mom walked in, I covered my body back with a blanket.
"Annie, what happened?" Mom's voice was filled with worried.
"Mom, it's nothing. I'm not hungry."
Mrs. Eliza and Mr. Williams sighed at the door, they walked in. Mrs. Eliza speaks first. "I have been suspecting Harry and Annie, they're hiding something from us."
"To me," Mr. Williams was saying now. "It seemed they don't like each other."
My mom beat my buttock, and I endured it, holding the blanket tightly around me. I felt Mrs. Eliza hold her hand as she wants to beat me once more.
"Leave her alone," she said. "Leave her alone, I know what to do, just follow me."
The door was closed, and I removed the blanket off my body, feeling happy because they had gone. I hurried to lock the door, then rubbed my buttock. A grimace appeared on my face as I walked to the mirror. After some minutes of checking my face in the mirror, the pain relieved me and I remember what Mrs. Eliza said.
What did she want to do? Hope she won't report us to the school board? No, she won't do that. I walked back to my bed, feeling hungry. I put a pillow on my lap, staring at the door, and imagining my mom walking in with a portion of food. I threw the pillow to the floor, blaming myself for walking away in the first place.
It's for my good anyway. Harry would stop judging me with an old eye now. I'm not like other girls who he can just treat like worthless animal dung. If he goes the right way, I will go to the left. If he stands, I will walk away. I don't want any drama to happen between us anymore, for am fucking hating him more right now.
I wished Monday arrived now so that I can narrate the fun story to my Jean. She would be happy that I act like that too.
A knock came from the door again. I waited for the person to speak first, but the knock came again, rapidly.
"Who's there?" I asked
"Go dress, we're going somewhere. We give you twenty minutes." My mom's voice scared me.
"Where are we going?"
"Does that matter? Go - go - go - go bath right now."
Sluggishly, I walked into the bathroom. Not long after I have my bath, I opened my wardrobe. I love to wear a short yellow gown with a short arm on Saturday, and I love to wear a long white gown like an angel on Sunday.
Walking out of the house, they're already waiting for me in the limousine. As soon as I saw Harry, he felt impatient. He wants to go out. Mom opened the door, but I refused to enter.
"Okay, okay," Mrs. Eliza said, alighting down, and taking me to the car. She waved to her husband that he should start the engine. "We would follow you."
We watched the limousine slow out as the gateman opened it.
"Now, come on, let's go."
I entered her car, watched her finger turn the key in the ignition, and the car slide to life, jolting out. Had thought Mrs. Eliza would ask me what happened between me and Harry, but she say nothing, and then I was glad for she did not.
She followed the limousine to a big mansion. I read a long name written on the mansion. YOU FIRST. Mrs. Eliza parked the car beside the limousine, and I watched them alighting through the window. Mr. William held Robert, my younger brother, and Jack, Harry's younger brother's hand, and lead them into the flashing mansion.
My mom and Harry followed them, and here - here, Mrs. Eliza motioned me to follow her. Opening the glistening door, I stepped in, and breeze air swirled to my hair. The big room was filled with goods: numerous clothes, toys, teddy bears, bicycles.
Mr. William walked to security men, he tells them something we didn't hear. Not long after, female security walked to me, smiling, and grabbed my hand. Mrs. Eliza motioned me to follow her, she motioned me too with a smile.
The female security took me to a small door, pressing a button, and then the small door opened by itself. She motioned me to walk in, still smiling. I stood there for some minutes, wondering and waiting for her to come in, but she didn't. She stay before the small door, as if she don't want me to run away This scared me first, but I endured it After some minutes in silence, a huge security man brought Harry near and motioned him to walk into the small door.
He stopped as our eyes met, glanced at two securities. "I don't want to go in with her."
"I don't want him to come in." I snapped back, frowning like a devil.
The two securities exchanged glances. They knew Harry hates me, and I hate him, too.
Mr. Williams gave the securities a sign as if to remind them of something they forgot. The huge security man forced Harry in and the security lady pressed a button. The small door closed, and I realized it was a lift.
A noise swirled and the lift lifted us. Harry looked at me and I look at him, too.
