We followed Mrs. Eliza to her car, she disguised as if she didn't hear all Harry was saying since we walked out of the lift. Car keys flipped within her fingers as she enter the car. Harry waited outside after I entered through the back door, he walked close to her mom, who was putting the key inside the ignition.
"Tell me you're joking, mom." Harry's voice was more serious now.
"Get in through the back door or I left you here."
He sighed, giving up as his mom whine up the glass. The car breathed into life, and Harry hurried in, sitting beside me. Mrs. Eliza drove the car to the street, speeding up. I off Harry's coat, dropped it in the middle as the hot air hummed on me more.
Harry break the silence with his voice that was filled with uneasy. "Please, mom, don't do this to me. All students in school would see it."
Mrs. Eliza smiled. Her smile was rich like a juice from ripped orange. "You would hug her then."
"You say?" He paused, fear appeared on his face. "You mean?"
"If you don't want me to post the lovely pictures, you must hug her before all of us at home."
I blinked, thinking if I had an ear problem, but I didn't have one. It is what I hear. Harry looked at me, and I look at him back. "What are you thinking? I can't accept you to hug me. Never. Can't even allow you to touch me."
"Stop saying nonsense. I cannot hug you. Can't even touch your garment." Harry looked at his mom. "Mom, this is impossible."
"Then forget it. No one gonna stop me from posting the stuff. And don't dare to speak until we get home, let me concentrate for Christ's sake" She wore her eyeglass, smiling once more.
We stayed silent. Heads bent, hissing. We exchange glances, frowning at each other. It seemed Mrs. Eliza was watching us from the rear mirror, she smiled more.
The gateman opened the gate, and she slowed in. She held her camera tightly as she hurried out of the car and through the awkward silence we alighted from the car, watched Mrs. Eliza cat-working inside.
"Guys," Mrs. Eliza said as we entered, dropping the keys on the table, but still holding the camera tightly. My mom, Mr. Williams, and our brothers were watching the BBC news, and it seemed our brothers didn't enjoy the news at all because their faces look somehow. "I got the romantic pictures. Gonna post it now."
Mr. Williams beamed, a glass of wine on his hand, plasma remote on the other hand. "It's so interesting."
"Can't wait to see the couple." My mom breaks my heart with scary laughter. As if her laughter was contagious, all laughed, too, except for us who stand together. Puzzled.
When Harry realized they were serious about posting the pictures, he walked close to her mom. "Okay, okay, I will hug...." He paused, closing his eyes in full disappointment.
"Hug who?" Mrs. Eliza asked
"I forget her name."
"Don't worry to remember." Mrs. Eliza brought out her phone, and ask Robert to bring her laptop and cable.
I looked at my mom who was busy making Mr. Williams laugh; she make him drop the glass of wine, and she carried it, gulping it like water. I shouldn't have opened the door for her the second time she came yesterday morning.
Robert walked in with the laptop and cable, putting it before Mrs. Eliza. On a stool.
"Okay, okay, I will hug Annie." Harry's words dropped me into the iceberg of fear.
"Did Annie accept this?" she asked me.
I want to say no; something I must wish against. Mr. Eliza was pasting the pictures into her laptop when my silence grew longer than it shouldn't be.
Harry looked at me. "Annie, say something."
I sighed, fear encompassing me. I don't want her to post it, and I don't want him to hug me either. If this happens when Harry was my crush, it would be as easy as ABC. If it had happened when he stole my heart in a minute without making ouch of effort. It would be fun, too. But now that I had hated him like hell's pain, it seemed impossible. He had made me realize love is not the answer, and I am living to believe it. If it's true or false, who knows?
Mrs. Eliza was connecting her phone hotspot to her laptop WiFi now. I felt all eyes on me. Mr. Williams's eyes were funny, he was holding his laughter as if they have all the right to make us sad.
Something scared me now. Maybe it was Harry's face frowning, or Mrs. Eliza loading the Facebook app now. I looked at Harry's eyes, he dropped his jaw. I don't want him to think am too cheap like his ugly bestie who was making jest of me in the limousine that day like am a fool. Nobody's a fool, only loves make a man or girl a fool. Only a fool can love genuinely; only a fool can cry during heartbreak and then realized her love drifting off like a dream.
"You are typing too fast, mom." Harry hurried to her mom as she was typing his name among her friend's list.
Mrs. Eliza removed her eyeglass smiling as she click on Harry's name. "Don't dare to touch me."
"Can I hug her without her permission?"
Her mom scrolled down Harry's timeline, who had five thousand friends. She smiled, clicking on the photo icon. "No."
"Oh shit." Harry's eyes were filled, but he let no tears drop.
Her mom selected our pictures, clicking on next. Then typing some love stickers.
"Annie, say something." Anxiety appeared on his face; he dropped his jaw once more and battled his eyes which tears had saturated.
The full stop her mom pressed after typing, 'They're beautiful couples, isn't it?' make words drop from my lips. The words I don't believe could drop freely. "Accepted."
Harry hugged me. My breasts on his chest; my heart glistening like heavenly aura, opening like petals of flowers that opened to receive the drop of swirling snow.
