“Ahem!” Hearing Tyler's throat clearing, Dylan quickly released the hug. However, I still held onto his hand. I looked at Tyler, who had just entered. His face was visibly tense and dissatisfied. He glanced briefly at my hand, firmly gripping Dylan's. "Can you let go of his hand?" Tyler spoke, holding back his frustration. Dylan tried to release my hand, but I stubbornly held on. "Hanna, let go of his hand and come to me now..." His command was serious. I shook my head. "No, I want to be with Dylan!" I stubbornly insisted. Tyler's eyes widened. I could feel that he was suppressing immense anger. Dylan signalled me to comply, but I ignored it. "Honey, don't be ridiculous. I'm your husband and... He's not Dylan!" Tyler asserted, his tone firm. "He is!" I countered. "No, he's not!" I fell silent and then looked up at Dylan. "You... You're not Dylan?" My voice trembled. He smiled thinly and shook his head. My grip on his hand loosened. "You forgot me, Hanna? I'm Alan. The one and only one, your best friend, and your bodyguard. Have you forgotten me?" His voice sounded like he could burst into tears at any moment. I snapped out of my confusion. How foolish of me. It couldn't be Dylan here. I must have been emotional because I saw someone who looked like Dylan. I was daydreaming. Slowly, I walked towards Tyler. My steps felt shaky, and just before I could fall, Tyler had already caught me. "I got you." He lifted me and leaned me against the bed. He rested on the chair, and my hands were held and kissed repeatedly. I had no strength to resist. I stared at Tyler for a long time. Indeed, he looked genuinely concerned about me. Ironically, if I'm not mistaken, I've been asking the same question for almost a day. "What happened to you, honey? Why are you like this? You don't know how worried I was when Johanna told me you fainted. The doctor said you're okay, but you kept rambling in your sleep. When you woke up, you kicked everyone out of the room and stayed locked up all day. What happened to you?" Tyler waited for my explanation. I took a deep breath and glanced at Alan, who still hadn't moved. He gave me a faint smile, reminiscent of Dylan, which somewhat helped me gather strength. "I... I don't remember..." I replied shortly. That seemed to be the only logical answer I could give. Tyler raised one eyebrow. "What do you mean?" "I don't remember how I could marry you; I don't remember how I could live here; I remember nothing..." I looked at Alan. "You too, Alan. I remember nothing about you and... Everything," I answered. Tyler's face looked very surprised. He shook his head several times. "Are you kidding, right? This is not funny, honey. Don't make me scared..." Tyler couldn't accept the reality. I nodded in agreement with everything I said. "It's impossible. Tell me you're joking..." He held both my shoulders and stared deeply into my eyes, as if seeking the truth. Seeing that my reaction remained unchanged, he sat down with a face full of despair. "Calm down, bro..." Alan tried to console and calm Tyler. "How could this happen... My Hanna forgot me?" I could only bow my head, feeling the disappointment as well. I could sense that Tyler truly loved me. Unfortunately, the woman he loved wasn't me. We might be the same person, but we were different because we were born in different circumstances. I'm not Hanna living in this future. Hanna exists in this era, thanks to changes in the past. I come from a future filled with poverty—a future that unfolded because of my parents' marriage. "Honey…" I looked up, not realizing when he approached me. He reached out his hand to me. "Let's... go see a doctor?" I nodded while accepting his outstretched hand. At least, Tyler was a good husband, even though I didn't know how to accept this situation. What I knew was that embracing Tyler as my husband would undoubtedly require a lot of time, especially since I still couldn't forget Dylan. I slowly let out a sigh.
"Amnesia. She is suffering from amnesia." I could predict the doctor's words since he thought I remembered nothing about the current time. In reality, I didn't remember; I didn't live here. If I told them all this, I might end up being thrown into a mental hospital and eventually going crazy for real. "But doctor, it's impossible for my wife to have amnesia. She just fell a bit yesterday. Can it lead to amnesia?" Tyler's voice sounded incredulous. I raised an eyebrow. Fell? Did that mean before I came here, I fell? "Events like this can still happen, Mr. Tyler. Most likely, the impact your wife experienced was so severe that it affected the functions of certain parts of the brain. However, that doesn't mean she has forgotten everything. There are things she still remembers. This is called temporary amnesia. It may take some time, but her memory will recover." The doctor explained again. I felt like laughing. The way the doctor spoke made it seem like I got hit by a truck. Ridiculous. "For now, that's all I can conclude. For a clearer result, we need to perform a CT scan on your wife," the doctor continued. I saw Tyler sigh deeply. He looked very frustrated. Not surprising. If I were him, I would feel the same. He approached me. "Honey, can you wait outside for a moment? I need to discuss something with the doctor. Darling, wait outside with Alan, okay?" I nodded and walked out, locking eyes with Alan, who was sitting not far away. I took a seat beside him. The longing surged within me. I glanced at Alan once again, just wanting to indulge in looking at his face. I got trapped, seeing him once made me want to see him twice, thrice, and finally, I couldn't stop staring. All the memories of Dylan and me were still vivid in my mind. It felt like I met him just yesterday. It might be yesterday, but the longing I felt seemed to span decades. "Hanna?" I jerked when Alan waved his hand in front of my face. My heart pounded, feeling how close Alan's face was to mine. I quickly distanced myself. Alan's mouth curved into a smile, looking at my reaction. "You, even if you have amnesia, your behaviour hasn't changed," Alan laughed. "Anyway, Hanna, when I entered your room earlier, you mentioned someone's name. Is it Dylan? Who is he? I feel like I never knew you had another friend named Dylan. In fact, I'm the only one, your friend. Who is he, actually? You... You know. You can tell me anything. We don't have secrets. Right?” Alan stumbled a bit. I exhaled. "You know, Alan... You can consider that I've gone through an endless dream. It's a long story. I can tell you, but maybe some other time? I don't know how to summarize my story. For now, it's enough for you to know that Dylan is someone very special in my heart. No one can replace him..." I explained honestly. "Even Tyler?" Alan asked. I nodded. "Yup. Even him." As I answered, my eyes caught someone’s hands hiding behind the wall near Alan and me. I sighed. Tyler's hand. Surely, he had been listening to my conversation with Alan since earlier. "So, what kind of person is this, Dylan, actually?" Alan continued to ask. I wanted to answer, but I felt unable to hurt Tyler's feelings. I didn't know why I felt that way. The influence of Hanna's feelings, perhaps? "Next time, I'll tell you, okay? I feel exhausted right now..." I spoke. "Oh, okay, sure," Alan agreed. "Honey..." I turned and saw Tyler coming out of his hiding place. He smiled as he approached me. As I suspected, Tyler was good at hiding his feelings. Suddenly, I felt terrible because, due to me, his beloved 'Hanna' was lost. I couldn't be like Hanna because, even though we were the same person, we were vastly different. Surely, I couldn't love Tyler as Hanna loved Tyler.
