CHAPTER 23
After, roaming around, I didn’t get a single item. By the way, we went on separate ways because nanny told us to buy the food, we wanted especially meats. It’s for the preparation of the upcoming wedding of Scarlet's brother.
I was strolling around when I felt my knees can no longer walk. I’m tired and thirsty. I sit on the plaza where the fountain lies. It’s a tiered fountain. I was appreciating the beauty of the place when there’s someone familiar entered my field of vision.
It’s Isabella, right? One of the villains that should be eliminated. She has a purple wavy hair with a blue eye. She’s the person who had a sense of justice. She didn’t know me, or anyone in the royal palace.
She was supposed to be the lady in waiting of the female protagonist but, she refused that offer. Due to that, Ziana or should I say the protagonist don’t have enough influence. The father of Isabella didn’t in favor to be Ziana as his highness fiancé because they found out that she’s an illegitimate child of the Marquis and Chantria is more suitable based on her origins and she bear the heir.
Isabella had a good attitude. But, because of their opposition of Ziana as the fiancé or to be the future Empress. I don’t know what truly happened as I read that; they were trying to harm Ziana. There are evidences but it’s all fabricated. Majority of the nobles voted for their exile and confiscated their territory and riches. After all they silently wished for their downfall and claimed most of their businesses. They are the third richest of the entire world since, they have a publishing company, they owned a public famous island in the East which attracts travelers and they owned lots of cabins.
As the daughter of such a fine man, she already travels at the very young age. That’s why she stumbled upon the issues of the female protagonists when she decides to settle to the Empire peacefully but, ended up in turmoil.
I approached her. She was silently sitting outside of the restaurant. She was holding a guide book in her hand.
“Good day, miss. Are you alone?”
She raised an eyebrow and suspiciously looking at me. She opened her mouth to speak but it stop when someone called her. The two of us looked at its direction.
“Milady, you can’t leave me like that”
There’s a man holding lots of baggage’s. She stood up and help him. The man was fixing his thick eyeglasses when he stared at me. His jaw dropped and pointed at me.
“A silver hair and green eyes. It’s the Lady in Raisville, L…. lady Marcox?”
Isabella drops her luggage’s and looked at me. She bowed to me.
“I’m sorry for my rudeness, milady. I didn’t notice that you were the Lady in Raisville”
“No, it’s okay. Lift your head. It’s okay, it’s my fault for not introducing myself and approaching you”
She lifted her head and I gave a reassuring smile. The man or should I say the butler offered me to sit across Isabella. I take that offer. It’s a waste not to talked with her, I might be able to save her from their doom.
“It’s very unusual for me, meeting a noble lady during my travels”
“So, this is the first?”
“Yes”
“Chill, please looked for a place to stay. I’ll stay here with the lady”
“Okay, milady. I’ll be back after I’m done”
Isabella nodded. She waved him goodbye. After, she lost his figure. She called the waiter and gave us the menu. She ordered then I told her to drop the formalities as we aren’t on the Empire. I insist that I should pay but, she told me that it’s her treat and we won’t be able to go on if this will keep so, I let her be.
She shared her travels with me. Her eyes sparks whenever she mentioned her experiences. It was fun, thrill and exciting experiences.
“I apologized my behavior, milady"
“No, it’s okay. I enjoyed listening to your stories”
“Yes, traveling is fun. It’s a lifetime experience. That’s why I’m hooked up to traveling even if it’s myself”
“It must be nice, experiencing those things”
“Why not join my little adventures? There are some places that I didn’t visit, yet”
“I’d like to but...”
I rubbed my stomach. She glanced at it. I know she heard what happened to me or I guess not.
“You’re pregnant?”
“Yes”
“Who’s the father?”
I wanted to tell her but, I can’t. I looked down sadly, and that’s where his butler came over and I saw Nanny a few meters away from me, waving.
“It’s really nice meeting you but, I think I should go”
“It’s mutual, I hope we can be friends”
“Yes, gladly”
I offered my hand to her, she hold it and we shake hands.
I smiled at her and I stood up, preparing to leave when she grabbed my arms.
“Here! Take this, this is to commemorate our meeting”
She gave me a pink seashell. It suited to my dress right now. I thanked her, bowed and walked away.
“Did I say something rude to her, chill?”
“What’s the last thing you’re talking about?”
“Well, I just asked if she wanted to go with my adventures. She told me she can’t and I noticed her rubbing her stomach. Then, I told her if she’s pregnant and who’s the father”
“That’s the problem”
“What? Why?”
“You see, milady. That Lady is currently the talk of the high society as well as to the commoner”
“Is there something happened to her?”
“Yes, and a very tragic one”
“What happened?”
“A few months ago, the lady was kidnapped”
“Then you mean, the child”
“Yes, you guess it right”
“Then, does it mean that I triggered something that I shouldn’t have?”
“Yes. That’s why I told you to refrain traveling and do the duties of the Lady”
“She’s a good person”
“I can see that. She can stand your nonsense speech for two hours”
“It’s all about my travel journey”
“Yeah, but not all ladies want to hear that”
“Whatever”
“And, Oh? One more thing, apparently she lose her memories”
“They tortured her?”
“No, when she escaped, she jumped off the cliff. Luckily, someone found her but it’s too late. Her head is injured”
"What a cruel thing to happen"
"And, probably, she's here to ease her pain or grow the child secretly. We reall don't know"
“Do you have an idea who kidnapped her?”
“Are you curious?”
“Yes, she might be the one I’m looking for, the best friend”
“Well, that best friend of yours is walking away because the lady didn’t know about a thing what’s the latest discussion that she naively pierces her heart unknowingly”
“I apologized. I didn’t know that”
“Yeah, let’s go, milady”
I didn’t glance back to Isabella. I walked forward where Nanny is.
“Are you, okay?”
“Yes, nanny”
“We should go, it would be unsafe if we travel back at night”
I followed my Nanny’s lead. I might get lost if I lose her sight. The carriage is visible to my eyes and Amelia is already there sitting. She was eating something.
“Milady? Have you eaten, yet?”
“Didn’t I tell you to not address me formally?”
“Yes, I’m sorry”
“What did you eat?”
“Madam, gave this to me. Here, let’s share this”
I jumped in the carriage and sit where my position is. It’s a fried noodle. We ate it silently while waiting to the others.
I felt sleepy after eating a lot. I keep thinking Isabella. I might be rude earlier for not responding her question. Maybe, in the future if we meet again. I hope she will, tell me her adventures again.
