After Jaydin saw the status of Nyx, he offered some help in any way, even money to help his friend. But Nyx persistently refused it, even the compromise proposal of Nyx would occasionally teach and train Jaydin in martial arts. So Jaydin left with no choice, reluctantly agreed and went on his way home.
Nyx then went inside his house and saw his mother again cooking for dinner and preparing the table for him. Nyx greeted his mother as usual, and his mother then invited him to eat, after he was finished getting changed and ready. Nyx then went downstairs and saw his mother's wrinkled forehead and face, Nyx was saddened by the thought of his mother having that kind of thing appear on her.
Nyx knew that her mother was not young anymore, but not old enough either to have that. Nyx was aware that it was from being so stressed and from her three jobs that caused her to have those early. He sat down while on the verge of tearing up just from the thought of his mother's hard work. Nyx's mother then offered him a plate full of vegetables to eat, and he saw how his mother's once delicate hand was now full of calluses.
A tear in Nyx's left eye suddenly drops without him even knowing, upon seeing it.
“Why are you crying, son? What seems to be the problem?” Asked her mother, trying to inquire about it while being worried
“Nothing mom, the smoke of the food was just getting in my eye.” Nyx replied to assure his mother.
He then wiped the eye where the tear fell off. And proceeded to accept what his Mom gave to him. He then ate as usual, and praised his mom every time he did, on how great her cooking was, and how delicious it was. Nyx's mother can't help but smile upon hearing it everytime Nyx says it to her, and after they are done. Nyx then again cleaned the table and washed the dishes. And as usual her mom will go outside again.
Nyx wanted to help her, and said that he will be the one who will collect newspapers and junk. But then his mother said that it's ok, and he should rest. Nyx didn't agree, but then her mother said that he will be, tomorrow afternoon as it is Friday that day. But still Nyx followed him otherwise, and so his mom couldn't help it but agree.
And after a couple of hours had passed of them collecting it, they then went home with a haul. Nyx mom was so happy knowing that it'll bring food on the table again for them in the next two weeks, after they sell it. Seeing a mountain of it in their front yard. And so Nyx and his Mom went inside and began to rest, as it was already late at night.
And after the night passed, Nyx once again woke up from the noise outside. It was raining. And as usual he always checked downstairs to see if his mother was still there, but seeing the food on the table he figured that she's off to work. And so he will then walk to the bathroom to get ready again to go to school. After his usual day of bathing, eating, and packing his bags. Nyx then grabbed an umbrella and went outside to walk to school.
It was quite far from their house but in order to save money he always walked to school from middle school no matter where it was. And so Nyx arrived at the crossroad again, but Leo wasn't there waiting for him so he went straight to the campus, alone and it was also raining heavily.
After he arrived there, as usual there were so many students rushing in, laughing and talking to their companions. Nyx then wonders how great school life would be if he was just a normal student, and if there is only no gangster within this school. And so Nyx went inside and after putting his sandals and umbrella in the locker, he then went on to proceed into the classroom.
And after arriving there Leo was there sitting waiting for him. And also he noticed that Chris and Drake again didn't show up since yesterday. But considering what happened to Chris, Nyx thought that he might not be able to see him again.
And so Leo waved his hand to Nyx and said, 
“I'm sorry, I didn't wait for you as it was raining heavily and I don't have an umbrella, I forgot it.” Said Leo.
Nyx just simply replied, “It's ok.” To Leo.
“So yah, did you arrive at an answer about my proposal yesterday?” Asked Leo.
Nyx was still contemplating about it, and so decided to ignore Leo's question.
“Well, I guess you still haven't. Anyways I'm not in a rush, so take your time thinking about it.” Leo answered.
The teacher was now late for the morning class session because of the rain, and seeing that Drake and Chris weren't here the students were all happy gossiping and were all over the place in the classroom to talk to their classmates. But not a single soul approached Leo and Nyx, since no one was daring enough to do it.
“Hey what rank are you in Mythical Legend?” Asked by student 1.
“I'm at Mythical Immortal, what about you?” Student 2 answered.
“Nah, I didn't play it. I'm just using it to strike up a conversation with you.”
“Then fuck you, what are you going to ask again?”
“Do you know what happened to Chris and Drake? They both haven't shown their faces since yesterday. I mean I'm glad that they are not here, I'm just curious to know where they are.” Asked by student 1.
“I don't know man, stop using me as your source of information. But speaking of it, someone ambushed three of the guys that are members of the gang in this school, outside the campus.” Said by student 2.
“Really? Who ambushed them?”
“I only heard it from the rumors, I didn't know who might be the culprit. But most likely it was the Riverdale school. As we all know, it was that school we are currently at war with.”
“That was scary, what if someone just ambushed me seeing me in my uniform?”
“I hope you will be beaten, man, you're quite annoying ya know.”
“Don't joke like that, I even considered you as my friend.”
“Fuck you! Who wants to be friends with a nerd like you?”
Both of them laughed upon insulting each other.
“But in all seriousness, how did it happen?” Asked by student 1.
“You mean the ambush, the three were just walking and talking about their day in the middle of the night at the park. Then suddenly a bat struck them in their head, and they all fell unconscious.” Student 2 answered.
“It was clearly a provocation and a declaration of war, I wonder how the executives would react to it?”
“Just shut up man, that's enough!”
The news about the ambush incident was now known by the 5 executives including Leo. But Nyx didn't know about it yet, but that incident has something to do with him. Albeit indirectly.
