Before Bayo could hold back the tears,his eyes were already brimming with flowing, fresh tears of joy. The joy of seeing the woman she maltreated and wished to make amends.
Watching her gait, as she stepped into the school compound, with grace and poise, walking towards him as he stood in SSS 3 to teach the class. The students became confused, and puzzled as they saw their class teacher crying.
"We are very sorry sir for making you cry. We will not do this again sir. Forgive our noise making." The students uttered, being remorseful. They thought that he was wailing because of their nonchalant attitude to studies, not knowing what was happening.
Bayo brought out a clean handkerchief and wiping his eyes, he glided with eagerness to welcome his sweetheart to school.
Anu was overwhelmed with joy as he saw Bayo coming towards him. Her heart melted, his love flowed from her tender heart and she walked faster to meet him.
With giant strides, he caught up with her and he did the unthinkable, by picking her up in his large arms. The students were peeping tom the window, jeering, clapping their hands in excitement. Soon he put her down gently and they both walked to the staffroom, where he introduced her to two of the teachers around.
"You are welcome Madam". One of the teachers spoke to Anu, looking at her in admiration.
"Thank you sir." She replied sweetly.
"Hey my guy! why are you gazing at her like that. You looked too dazed." Bayo barked at the other teacher.
He stood there watching her, with folded arms. His eyes widened in unbelief. Finally, he spoke out still in shock though.
"Hmmm, wonder shall never end. I never imagined that your wife will return to you, after the way you maltreated this young beautiful lady. Hey Bayo! You must change because if you over stretched your luck, you will live to regret it all the days of your life. Eh, do not say I did not warn you.
Please, welcome back to your man. You have done well." The Teacher turned to Anu to greet.
"Thank you very much sir. I'm sure he will change." Anu replied with a smirk.
"Well, for your information, I have surrendered to the Lord my saviour, no turning back for me. Thank you very much for your admonition. It's in order." Bayo replied.
Anu and Bayo were reconciled to the amazement of the community. They all praised Anu for returning to her man. Ayomide was brought to stay with them for the holiday. Although it was difficult for his grandmother to release him.
What a reunion with the family, as they had their first family devotion of prayers and the word. Bayo conducted the devotion, read the Bible and shared words of encouragement.
"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord! We dedicate ourselves to you, Lord. Forever yours we pray." Bayo declared to the Lord as they held hands together.
Anu returned to the university of Ibadan, on January 2nd, after the brief holiday. Bayo gave her some money and promised to continue to sponsor her. He kept to his words and kept on sending money every month end.
"I can't believe you are back to your husband!" Righteous exclaimed.
"Yes, I believe that God wanted me to do so. God brought me into his life for a purpose and he is doing well now." Anu responded with a deep smile.
"But what about his Caroline and the other Hannah that claimed to be pregnant for him?"
"Ha, those ladies were lying. He later confirmed this with evidence. Caroline came to apologise on Christmas Eve. Hmmm, you need to see her that day. I must confess that I almost slapped her, but Bayo had to calm me down. Well, I later forgave her. She gave her life to Christ and we are back as friends."
"Oh my God! You don't mean it?" Righteous cried out, as she opened her mouth agape in amazement.
"Well, we must learn to forgive. A man who refuses to forgive is serving the punishment of another. Why should I continue to torment my heart?" .
"Sincerely, I thank God for your life. See the face of my friend and sister glowing. Wow, I'm jealous." Righteous went to her touching her beautiful face and later hugged her.
"You know that Babajide called me and asked after my welfare! But I don't want to lead him on. I told him that I have reconciled with Bayo. He screamed and later cut the càll. I could feel his pain. I'm missing Babajide Badmus, my sister. I have tried to push him out of my life but it wouldn't go. His thoughts kept on boggling my mind. I'm so confused, because I am back with Bayo, but my mind is with Jide. What do I do?"
"This is hard! You have to fight the thoughts and keep on until it's totally off. My own is there too. Joe has been taking me out for dinner from time to time. Love is building up in us. I must confess that I love him, and he loves me too, but he has not proposed."
"Never assume you are his until he uses his mouth to propose. Nothing is in-between you. You are only friends for now."
"Yes sister Anu. I agree with you. But I am looking forward to his proposal."
"Let the will of God be done my sister." Anu admonished.
