Three years later, Anu entered into her fourth year in medical school. By then, she was twenty-one years going to twenty-two. Things were going well with Bayo and Anu, but something was bothering Anu, which was affecting Bayo. "Oh no! Not again!" Anu screamed out, unable to bear the pain anymore. "I think we need to visit the doctor, don't you think so, my sweet? I'm tired of watching you grow restless, and endure such excruciating pain anytime the baby comes down." Bayo persuaded, full of deep concern. "I need to see not just a physical doctor, but a spiritual one; after all they are men not God. Nothing can be done without the power of God." Anu explained, holding her tummy. What burdened her was the fact that she has had miscarriages several times. It seemed her womb could no longer withhold a child. But Bayo was not concerned, because he felt that it wasn't a pressing issue, they had a child four years ago who is doing pretty well. "Bayo, why are you not bothered about these miscarriages?" Anu complained with a furrowed brow. Bayo held her in his warm embrace, and later tilted her face up, gazing into her lovely eyes. "Seeing you by my side calms my nerves. I am loving you everyday. I'm okay even if we do not have another child. Let God just keep Ayomide for us. Don't allow the devil to steal your joy." Bayo encouraged with a smirk on his face. "Hmmm, my Bayo, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'm glad that I stayed and not ran away from you." Anu confessed, as she snuggled into his arms again. "Hey baby, you mean that you've forgotten all about Babajide?" He declared, with a squinty face, watching her eyes closely to discern her mind at the moment. "Hmmm, that was a mere crush, nothing serious. I thought we'd discussed all these before. I'm sincerely okay with you." Anu uttered with a brightened face. She was almost losing her affection for Bayo. When he noticed that she was dodging him, he had to confront her. It was becoming so unbecoming that even on bed she would turn her face into the wall. Sometimes, she found her staring into space, confused, dejected, and lost into the world of fantasy. One day, he decided to confront her. Turning her face into the wall as usual, he tried talking to her,but it seemed like she was out of the world. No response whatsoever. He raised one of his legs, placed it on her body, and she wouldn't move. Touching her, he gently turned her face and gave her a peck on her cheeks. She rolled her eyes over in annoyance. Bayo grew mad at her and shouted, "Why can't you go and meet your lover outside. It's clear that you are not happy with me. You are free to go." She stood up in a hurry, and uttered with all soberness, "Don't blame me for this, Bayo! You gave room for the devil. I was all yours, worshipping the ground you walked on, until you took my love for granted. Babajide came in through the crack and I must confess that he has my heart. I have tried to push him out but to no avail." Anu explained feeling as if her heart is breaking into pieces. She was totally confused. "Can you please try harder for the sake of God?" He pleaded with pain searing his heart. "Don't tell me to try, you help me to forget him." Anu demanded, her face turned red with tears brimming. "But how?" Bayo held her to his chest. "Give me no breathing space. Castrate me with your love. Captivate my heart. Start doing what you did at first. " She yelled, tugging at his shirt. How she desperately wanted to be free. Bayo got the answer to his question. He picked her up in his arms and started to laugh. That was it, he kept on showering her with love, calling her almost ten times a day. He goes to the university to take her out on weekends. They became inseparable. On one of the occasions, they bumped into Babajide Badmus in a supermarket. "Hey Anu! Nice seeing you here!" Babajide called out, full of excitement and coming over to her side. Bayo went to the restroom to ease himself then. On coming back, he saw the two of them gisting. He was green with envy but managed to control himself. "Oh Bayo my love, here is Babajide Badmus, remember him?" She called out. "Why not? The man who got me arrested because of you. The one who almost snatched you from me. I hope he has given up though." "Haba, Bayo! It's over now!" Anu replied. "Hmmm." Babajide responded. "I hope so." Bayo said. "I know so," Anu replied with a sweet smile. Babajide Badmus left the two of them with pain searing his heart, but he was able to hold himself. Shrugging his shoulders, he left the duo. "At least he helped us to appreciate ourselves more."Anu uttered. "Thank God, you are fully mine now" Bayo smiled. Exactly three months after, a most devastating news came that almost destroy Anu. "Ha, this can't be!" She screamed.
