"Harris, it was your mother, Marian, and Nicole who have been conniving with Dominic. They were the ones who shared your mansion's address and encouraged Dominic to attend Harriet's 5th birthday."
Harris clenched his jaw as he listened to Jane's report over the phone. The revelation that his own mother, Marian, and Nicole had conspired with Dominic to invade their privacy and manipulate the situation left him seething with anger.
"Are you absolutely certain about this, Jane?" Harris inquired, his voice tight with a mixture of frustration and disbelief.
"I've triple-checked the information, Mr. Thompson. There's no doubt about it. Marian and Nicole were in contact with Dominic, sharing details about your mansion and encouraging him to attend Harriet's birthday." Jane, on the other end of the line, maintained her professional composure.  "And there's one more thing you need to know," Jane added.
"What more there is to it?"
"Dominic was the one who shared the info about Harriet with your mother and Nicole. The three of them collaborated to have you separated from Mallory, which they would all benefit from."
Harris sighed deeply, his mind racing to comprehend the betrayal. "Thank you, Jane. I appreciate your diligence in uncovering this. Please continue to monitor the situation and let me know if you find anything else." 
Harris had a sleepless night mainly because of the information he got from Jane. Marian and Nicole didn't stop her evil acts by drugging him to sleep 3 years ago, now they have done even worse. Marian and Nicole were desperate, and he couldn't forgive them both.
The next day, Harris leaned back in his office chair, his thoughts consumed by the treacherous actions of those he had called family. He couldn't believe that his own mother and Nicole would stoop to such lengths to disrupt his life and his family's peace. It was a betrayal that cut even deeper, as it came from someone he had initially considered a rival for Mallory's affections.
Frustration coursed through his veins, but he knew he had to confront the situation head-on. Mallory and Harriet's safety and well-being were his top priorities, and he couldn't allow anyone to jeopardize that. As he contemplated his next steps, Harris couldn't help but feel a sense of determination rising within him. He would ensure that those who had betrayed him would face the consequences of their actions.
In the afternoon, he called Marian, his voice laced with a mixture of anger and sadness. "Mother," he began, "what you and Nicole did, collaborating with Dominic to intrude into our lives, it's unforgivable. You've betrayed my trust again."
Marian, on the other end of the line, was taken aback. She had not expected Harris to find out so quickly, nor had she anticipated the gravity of his reaction. She tried to explain, "Harris, I thought it would be a good idea for Dominic to meet Harriet. I didn't know it would cause such turmoil."
"Stop acting innocent. You always think you are right and know what's best for me and my family. Can you pause for a minute and ask if everything you did was any good for me?"
"Harris, Nicole, and I had the best intention."
Harris's tone remained stern. "You and Nicole have crossed a line, Mother. I can't trust either of you around Harriet, not after this. You've put her safety at risk."
Marian's voice quivered as she pleaded, "Harris, please, I'm her grandmother. Can't I at least see her once a week? I promise I won't interfere anymore."
But Harris was resolute. He couldn't afford to take chances when it came to his daughter's well-being. "I'm sorry, but I can't allow that. You've lost that privilege. Goodbye!" With that, the busy tone followed, cutting the call.
The conversation ended on a sad note, leaving both Harris and Marian with heavy hearts. The chasm that had opened between them seemed insurmountable, a stark reminder of the consequences of their actions.
Next, he reached out to Nicole. They had parted ways as an engaged couple, and after the meeting with Nicole's parents, he hadn't talked to her. He was thinking of forgiving Nicole for what she did 3 years ago. However, this latest revelation shattered even that fragile connection.
In a brief but firm message, Harris conveyed his decision. "Nicole, I know you and my mother have been conniving with Dominic for so long," he said as soon as Nicole took his call.
Nicole was caught off guard. "Harris, let me explain," she stuttered.
"What explanation could make it right, huh?" Harris retorted.  "Would you insist that you had the best intentions like my mother told me?"
"NO. Harris, I know what we did was wrong. In the hope of breaking you up from Mallory so you'd be mine, I did horrible things. I did everything Marian suggested that would help me get you set up our wedding date. I'm ashamed of everything I did to you. Harris, please, forgive me."
"I carefully thought if I should forgive you and my mother for what you guys did 3 years ago and there was a spark of hope that I might reconcile. But after learning everything you did with Dominic in the hope of breaking my relationship with Mallory, I give up. There is no chance to amend the friendship we had when we were kids."
"Harris, please, forgive me, for old times sake," Nicole cried. Her voice muffled on the other line. "I was a fool and stupid for following all Marian's suggestions, especially conniving with Dominic. I regret all  those things and swear I will never disturb you and your family."
"I thought of that too; our friendship when we were kids. Nicole, I tried my best to respect you even if I was against our engagement from the start. I was with you when you needed someone to accompany you for a drink, but you took advantage of my vulnerable state."
Indeed, Harris was a good fiance to her in the early years of their engagement. He would accompany her, even though he was busy running his parents' legacy while he was trying to get over Mallory.
"Nicole, I can't continue our friendship after what you've done. Please don't contact me again," Harris said, cutting the call.
The revelation of Marian and Nicole's involvement in Dominic's actions left Harris deeply wounded. The betrayal by his own mother and the woman he had once been engaged to was a harsh blow. It was a stark reminder of how complex and treacherous the web of relationships in his life had become.
Nicole was hoping for a fresh new start in her life after the broken engagement with Harris, but she couldn't move on without Harris' forgiveness. What she did kept hunting her for years, and her conscience couldn't take it anymore.
She visited Marian after the devastating talk with Harris. "Marian, we have to talk," she said, seeing Marian in the garden.
"It's good that you're here," Marian welcomed Nicole pleasantly. "Someone has good news for you," she said, referring to the other visitor.
"Dominic? You're here!" Nicole said in shock. Dominic was behind her who just entered the green garden.
