As Harris stood beside Mallory, his heart swelled with admiration for the woman by his side. She had chosen a dress that accentuated her natural beauty, a soft lavender gown that draped gracefully over her slender figure. Perfect for the baby shower event they will attend. The color of Mallory's makeup brought out the warmth in her eyes and the gentle curve of her lips, making her look even more radiant than usual. She moved with grace and confidence, her smile lighting up the room. Harris couldn't help but stare at her, his gaze filled with adoration and pride. Her hair was styled in loose waves that framed her face, and a delicate necklace adorned her neck, drawing attention to her graceful collarbone. Mallory's choice of attire was simple yet elegant, a reflection of her innate sense of style. "Mally, you look lovely," Harris managed to voice out his admiration. "Thank you," Mallory replied, her cheeks warm out of shyness. Harris's compliment sent butterflies to her stomach. "Let's go!" "Stop staring at me," Mallory said, a little agitated. "Sorry, I can't help it." Harris couldn't resist the urge to hold her hand lovingly. He marveled at the softness of her skin, the gentle warmth of her touch sending shivers down his spine. Mallory's presence was a source of comfort and joy, and he felt truly blessed to have her in his life. It was moments like these that reminded Harris of the incredible woman he had fallen in love with and the beautiful life they were building together. "Thanks for being with me!" With a loving squeeze of Mallory's hand, he silently conveyed his appreciation for her, grateful for the happiness she had brought into his life. The venue for Heidi and Scott's baby shower was nothing short of spectacular. Their sprawling mansion, a testament to their success, had been transformed into a haven of celebration and anticipation. Nestled amidst lush gardens and overlooking a tranquil lake, the house exuded an air of opulence that was beautifully complemented by the warmth of their hospitality. As Mallory, Harris, and Harriet arrived, they couldn't help but be in awe of the grandeur that surrounded them. The front entrance was adorned with intricately designed floral arrangements, their colors bursting with vibrancy. A winding cobblestone pathway led to the main courtyard, where guests were beginning to gather. "Mallory, Harris, welcome! Harriet, welcome, baby girl," Heidi, radiant and glowing in her pregnancy, greeted her friends with an infectious smile. Her husband, Scott, was equally welcoming, his eyes reflecting the excitement that had been building for their incoming baby. "Thank you for coming," Scott kissed on their cheeks, including Harriet. Heidi and Scott then lead the guests to the formal venue of the party. "We wouldn't dream of missing it," Mallory said. "Yes, we are so looking forward to this event," Harris agreed. "We thought it's a good way to catch up since we haven't had time together with friends after Harriet's birthday," he added. "That's right. Amanda and David are already waiting for us," Heidi said as they approached the courtyard. The courtyard was a sight to behold, with an ethereal glow over the festivities. Round tables adorned with floral centerpieces were elegantly arranged, each one set with pristine white linens and sparkling tableware. As Mallory, Harris, and Harriet joined Amanda and David, they couldn't help but share their enthusiasm for the occasion. "Isn't this place amazing?" Amanda whispered to Mallory, her eyes sparkling with wonder. Mallory nodded in agreement. "It's like a fairy tale setting. Heidi and Scott have really outdone themselves." Harriet, her eyes wide with curiosity, tugged at her mother's hand. "Mommy, this place is so pretty!" Mallory knelt down to her daughter's level, a loving smile gracing her lips. "Yes, sweetheart, it is. And we're here to celebrate Heidi and Scott's baby." Harriet's face lit up with delight, and she squeezed her mother's hand in excitement. "I can't wait to see the baby when he comes out!" Harris and David were engaged in a conversation about work, but their eyes kept wandering to the picturesque surroundings, both appreciating the effort put into creating such a memorable event. The joyous atmosphere was further enhanced by the soft strains of live acoustic music that drifted through the air, creating a melodic backdrop to the festivities. Guests mingled, laughter and conversation filling the space as they celebrated the impending arrival of Heidi and Scott's little one. The baby shower party for Heidi and Scott's incoming baby boy had officially begun. The guests gathered, their faces adorned with smiles and their hearts filled with joy for the expecting couple. Heidi and Scott stood side by side, their faces beaming with joy as they looked out at the gathering of friends and family who had come to celebrate their upcoming journey into parenthood. Heidi took a deep breath, her hand resting on her growing belly, as she began to speak. "Thank you all for being here today," she said, her voice filled with warmth and gratitude. "This day means the world to us, and we're so grateful to have you by our side as we prepare to welcome our baby boy into the world." Scott nodded in agreement, his eyes locked on Heidi with a loving smile. "We've been on quite the journey to get here," he continued, "and we couldn't be more excited for what lies ahead. Becoming parents is a dream come true for us, and we're so lucky to have each other to share this adventure." Heidi's eyes glistened with tears of happiness as she continued, "We want to thank our parents for their love and support, and for raising us to be the people we are today. We hope to be half as amazing as you all have been as parents." Scott chimed in, his voice filled with humor, "And to our friends, we promise that even though we'll be new parents, we won't become 'those' parents who only talk about diapers and baby food." Laughter rippled through the room, and Heidi added, "But seriously, your friendship means the world to us, and we can't wait for our little one to be surrounded by such incredible people." Scott and Heidi exchanged a loving glance, their hands entwined. "So here's to new beginnings, sleepless nights, and a whole lot of love," Scott concluded. "Thank you for sharing this special day with us, and for being a part of our growing family." With heartfelt applause and cheers, the room erupted in celebration, as everyone raised their glasses to toast the soon-to-be parents and the new adventure that awaited them. After the soon-to-be-parents speech, Harriet, the energetic and sociable little girl, wasted no time in making new friends among the kids in attendance. With her bright eyes and a heart full of curiosity, she approached a group of children who were playing with colorful balloons. "Hi, I'm Harriet," she introduced herself with a friendly grin. The other children, equally excited to make new friends, introduced themselves one by one. Among them were Emma, a girl with a crown of daisies in her hair, and Liam, a boy with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Harriet's eyes sparkled with delight as she joined in the balloon games and shared stories with her newfound friends. They ran around the courtyard, their laughter filling the space, creating an atmosphere of pure childhood bliss. Mallory, Heidi, and Amanda found a quiet moment to chat. Amanda couldn't help but admire the radiant motherly glow that Mallory seemed to exude. "You look amazing, Mallory," Amanda complimented her friend. "Motherhood suits you." Mallory blushed at the kind words. "Thank you, Amanda. I'm sure you've heard about the circulating rumors about us. It's been quite a journey, but I wouldn't trade it for anything." "I know," Amanda said apologetically. "How are you and Harris, holding up?" "Well, we support each other. I don't know how I will be able to carry on without Harris by my side. I'm thankful he has been proactive in making solutions to all the problems." "Mally, know that Scoot and I are here no matter what," Heidi held Mallory's hand in support of her best friend. "Yes, Mallory," Amanda seconded. "I can't do so much because of my limited resources, but if you need someone to talk to, you can call me." "Thank you so much, girls," Mallory said as she hugged Heidi and Amanda. Heidi teared up a little knowing her best friend was still in trouble for so many months. "Oh, I feel bad, Heidi. I made you cry at your baby shower party," Mallory said apologetically. "Oh, Mally, don't be. It's just the hormone thing that made me cry. I'm too emotional during my pregnancy." "I understand. You guys, should we talk about something that would cheer us up?" "I have an idea," Amanda spoke. "How was your relationship with Harris? Is there anything worth sharing besides co-parenting?" "Yes, Mally, please tell us," Heidi said enthusiastically. She was eager to know an update on her best friend's love life. From the very beginning, she believed in Harris and felt he was the one for Mallory. Mallory blushed at the unexpected question, contemplating on whether to be honest or deny how she truly felt. But her guess was that people around them knew how she felt about Harris. Only her doubts, fears, and insecurities are holding her back. "We know you love him still, Mally," Heidi said like she could read Mallory's mind. It wasn't surprising since they are best friends, after all, they know each other so well. "But the question is, are you guys officially in a relationship now?" Heidi asked.
