Chapter 16

I was about to reach for the stairs when someone grabbed my hand.
My eyes grew bigger.
"Castriel?!"
He looked at me with no expression written on his face.
"You're not getting up there, are you?" He asked.
Hindi ako kaagad nakasagot.
"You know you can't bear sailing! You tend to puke when you get dizzy! Who will take care of you?" He crossed his arms.
Castriel really knows me well.
"I know but, I need to come with them. It's my job, Cas. I can't disappoint the Royals," I uttered but he wasn't convinced.
I stared at him for a while as he changed his worried face with a smirk.
"No, no way! I know what you're thinking! Hindi sila papayag!"
He just chuckled. "Says who?"
"Of course, you can join us Mr. Castriel Eastwood," my mouth literally opened when we reached the main deck.
"Thank you, your majesty."
Did I just hear it right?! Prince Aiden allowed Castriel to come with us?!
"I approve too, It's been a while, mate!" Jack greeted Castriel out of nowhere.
"Jack? I didn't recognize you back there!" Castriel replied.
Wait, what? They know each other?! How come I don't know?!
"I'm glad to have you on board again, mate!" Castriel just smiled and turned to me.
"I want to come since my friend here is not very used to sailing. She tends to vomit, that's why I'm here. I don't want her to stain your ship--ouch that hurt!"
I looked at him deadly in the eye. Did he just come here to pest me? If yes, I'm willing to push him off the ship.
"I see, you'll get used to it soon, M'Lady," Jack winked at me before walking up the quarter deck. "Set sail to the Kingdom of Fèath!" Jack shouted.
"Anchor's aweigh!" One of his men yelled
I walked my way to the forecastle deck where Liana is. I think I can hold onto the railings for me to be safe and prevent myself from getting dizzy.
Jack played the helm steering wheel and I can already feel my head turning that's why I fastened my walk.
I almost lost my balance. Gladly, someone caught me.
"That's what you get for coming," I heard Castriel's voice.
"Tsk," I heard Caspian as he walk pass us.
"I can manage. I will be used to this. You just wait," I told him and continued walking towards Liana.
"Hello there, Lady Mary!" Liana greeted me.
"Hi there, Lady Liana!" I greeted her back and stood right beside her while my hands rests on the railings.
"I overheard you're not very used to sailing," she said while staring at the wide ocean surrounding us.
I let out a nervous chuckle. "Yes, that's true. This is the third time I was able to sail again. First, when I was still small, next is when Castriel tried to help me get used to sailing," natatawa kong kwento.
"How about you, Lady Liana? Are you used to sailing?" I asked her.
She looked at me and smiled sadly. "My father was a sailor, I used to come with him every single day to sail. Well, that was before he passed away," malungkot nitong saad.
Natikom ko ang aking bibig. She must've missed her father.
"I am a hundred percent sure that your father is in great hands now, Lady Liana. He's probably sailing with us now, guiding you on your journey."
I saw her face lit up.
"Thank you, Lady Mary."
Nagpatuloy lamang kami sa pagkukuwentuhan hanggang sa may narinig kaming boses. It was so magical and very seducing. All of us on the ship was fascinated as we look around trying to find where the melody is coming from.
"Do you hear that?" I heard Lady Diana asked.
My eyes widened.
"Could it be..."
"Mermaids," Castriel said as he walk towards me.
"It's been ages since I saw a mermaid!" I can't help but to let out my excitement. I didn't notice that I've let go of the railings, I just felt my head turning.
Castriel chuckled as he held my hand so I can be in balance. "You still love mermaids, what are you, a child?"
Kumunot ang noo ko. "Are children the only ones––––
Castriel didn't let me finish, instead, he let me faced the ocean.
"What––––
"Shh. Look at that," he whispered to my ear as he pointed his finger out to the nearest rock formation.
I blinked many times before seeing splashes of water caused by flapping of mermaid tails.
"Oh wow," I whispered as the magical beings swam towards us. I even saw one waved at me and I waved back of course.
"Look at that beauty. Oh! If they're only humans," I disgustingly looked at Castriel.
"That's weird, you're weird," I said and he just laughed.
We ate breakfast on the ship, since they said we will be sailing for about two hours. I can feel my head turning already but I kept myself under control as I sat at the stairs.
"Okay, I just have to calm down and I won't vomit," I convinced myself.
"Just don't think about it and you'll be fine–––
"What are you doing?" I stared at Caspian who's eating an apple.
I gulped. He looks so good with his white long sleeves especially with the upper three buttons, unbuttoned. His hair, slowly blown by the wind ang his fitted black pants––and his mask of course, let's not forget about that.
"W-Well as you can see, I'm convincing myself not to vomit," I muttered as I look away.
"Sea sickness, hmm?"
"Yes," I uttered and looked at him.
He moved closer to me and gave me an apple and said, "here, you can have it."
I was stunned for a moment as he left.
Did he decided to change his attitude now?
Tastes good.
Oh God no. I felt my world turning when I stood up. I feel like the apples wanted to go back to my mouth.
"Is there something wrong?" The prince asked worried.
My hands went up to my mouth to stop what was about to go out.
"Hey! Are you alright? What–––
Hindi ko na siya pinatapos, I ran towards the railings to throw up but Caspian suddenly showed up in front of me.
"Don't think about it then you won't––––
Huli na ang lahat. I threw up right in Caspian's chest.
"..throw...up.." pagpapatuloy nito sa sinabi.
