Two days have passed, and Vaughn is still reading the book about the Gate of Zapho. He was fascinated by how the book describes the history before, especially about the Necromancer God.
This information is exactly what he needs in order to defeat the Shaman King. However, he must find their weakness. The book must have it somewhere in the pages
It's already 9 PM, Vaughn flipped the book to the next page. 
Bñorjio, the man who discovered the gate of Zapho, entered the gate. It was smoky and creepy, he then saw a ruby gem floating on its own. He can feel the power within it, and so, he decides to take the gem to study what kind of magic it contains. However, a Cerberus who's guarding the gate attacked him. He managed to flee but he swore he'd come back again. Day and night have passed, and Bñorjio manages to take the gem, but unfortunately, he meets his end upon the Cerberus's claws. Before his soul left his body, he broke the gem. The ruby gem shattered and all of a sudden, the pieces of every gem spread all over the world. Legend said, that the ruby gem can kill the Shamans at once, that's why it was guarded by the dangerous creature from the underworld, the Cerberus. Without the gem, there's no way to stop the evilness that has profusely spread all over the world. 
"Vaughn! Are you in there?" 
He jolted after he heard someone calling his name outside of his dorm
He opened the door and saw Trixi
"What are you doing here alone, lady Trixi? It's late," Vaughn asks
"Why aren't you in class earlier?"
Vaughn was perplexed, "What do you mean? It's Sunday..."
"It's Monday, Vaughn. We haven't seen you since yesterday," Trixi asks, he notices Vaughn's eye bugs, "Oh my, you haven't slept?"
"Oh, yeah, I was just reading a book, I didn't know it was Monday already. I genuinely thought it was Sunday...."
"What kind of book is it?"
"Uh, history,"
"Really? I didn't know you're into history. Anyway, I think Sage is acting strange lately..."
"Sage is always strange."
"No, not that. It's just, she walked towards me and suddenly told me that I should stay away from her, and that she doesn't want me around her." Trixi added, "I know Sage's words are insulting, however, the aura I felt from her was different."
"Shall we talk to her tomorrow?"
"Certainly! This may sound funny to you, but I consider Sage as my friend. And I wanted to know if she really meant all of the things she said to me." Trixi uttered, "Anyway, I have to go, see you tomorrow. Keep reading the book,"
Vaughn nodded, "Hmm,"
He watches Trixi walk away, he is still confused as to why Trixi is worried about Sage's behavior. He sighed. He shall see how Sage acted more strangely than usual towards Trixi.
The following morning, he is currently walking down the hallway as he yawns. He was up all night. Vaughn's hair is messy, his uniform is messy and he is starving. He thought he was late but it turns out, the class hadn't started yet. He is trying his hardest not to fall asleep while walking. 
"You look like a mess."
Vaughn lifted his head as he heard Adonis's voice. Vaughn yawned once again, "I know, good morning,"
"You aren't around yesterday, you're still reading the book?" Adonis asks
Vaughn nodded, "And fortunately, I learned a lot from it, especially the origin of the Shamans."
"Why are you so interested in them? Are you planning to join their cult?"
"H*ll no, Adonis. They killed my sister, and before I could avenge her, I have to know the Shaman's weaknesses. And guess what? I found a very interesting information."
"What is it?"
"You still remember the 12-magnitude earthquake, right?" 
Adonis nodded his head in response, Vaughn then continued, "It's a spell named Vukanz Penquaium. Apparently, it is a very powerful spell that even the Necromancers can't deflect. A single spell that can wipe out an entire Shaman and Necromancer species."
"And?"
"I wanted to learn it. However, it seems that I cannot find anyone who could do such a thing here in Spivilion, except the rumors about Keyla's grandfather who can manage to cast that certain spell." Vaughn sighed, "I am afraid that I cannot open such topic to her, I assume she is still sensitive about it up until now. I mean, she doesn't believe that his grandfather can cast a spell that could possibly endanger everyone's life."
"I have one question, how come the Shamans and Necromancers can't seem to deflect the Vukanz Penqua-something spell?" Adonis asks
"Their abilities are weakened by the time the spell was executed."
"I see."
"With determination, I guess I can learn the spell. I just have to find where Laurince Madris lives."
"I bet I can help you with that," Adonis uttered
"How?"
"Can't tell you, yet. However, let's meet next week, at the garden."
"Are we ambushing Keyla's grandfather!?"
"Are you stupid?"
"No, I'm starving."
Adonis rolled his eyes, "Let's go dine in at the cafeteria." He stated before walking away
Vaughn's eyes sparkled, "Are you gonna treat me today?" He asks with enthusiasm 
"Yeah,"
"You're the best, brother!"
They're at the cafeteria when Vaughn sees Sage with a girl. The girl seems happy as she talks with Sage. Sage, on the other hand, is listening to her with a small smile on her lips. Vaughn was dumbfounded as he witnessed Sage's little smile while talking to that girl
"What are you looking at?" Adonis asks
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Vaughn inquired back to him
Adonis looks at Sage's direction as he sips his chocolate milk, "Yeah, I saw them together since Saturday."
"She smiled at that girl!" Vaughn exclaimed
"Yeah, I saw that too,"
"She never smiles at us like that! Like her face is always like this when she's with us." Vaughn imitates Sage's frowny expression
"You look ridiculous,"
"I know, but that's how she usually looks! But now, she smiled! This is the first time I've seen her smile like that."
"You're exaggerating things, Vaughn, go eat something."
"You're a meanie!"
Adonis ignored him and sat on the table. Vaughn ordered his food and sat in front of Adonis. He still couldn't take his eyes off the two ladies
"Stop staring, you look like a creepy old man," Adonis stated
Vaughn glared at him and started stuffing his mouth with food. 
Vaughn started thinking that Trixi must be worrying about nothing. Sage simply found a new friend, and that might be unusual but he's happy for her.
