I packed up my things, assuring that no one left behind as I say goodbye and pay respects to my uncles and aunties as well as my grandparents because after that long Christmas vacation we spent at my grandparents house we are going back home already. I say goodbye to my cousins hoping to see them again next Christmas or any occasions. we started to travel as I take a last glimpse of my father's hometown as I ask myself where and when will I be able to visit here again. at last we arrived at our home, with my exhaustion because of the travel, I check the clock and it is 2 pm in the afternoon, I take a nap for a while and then I heard voices coming downstairs, I check the clock again and it's already 5 pm in the afternoon, and the sun is about to set. I go downstairs because of the voices I heard and found out it was my friends who visits me. " Kai, come here talk to your friends " mom said as she prepare some snacks that she buy from my father's hometown and serve it to us as we chat about what happened the past days. from the stories I heard on them, Reisse and his family spend the Christmas together at their home, while Jan and Henry together with their family go on to a picnic together, Ares and Vance spend the Christmas together at their grandparents house since they are cousins, and Kazu and his family spend the Christmas out of town and haven't arrived yet. we chat for an hour and decided to go outside and get some fresh air. as we laughed and walk by the roads we saw something that catches my attention, out of curiosity I approach it and it was a black bag. I opened it thinking what would be the things inside of this, as when I remembered something on the news I heard that a bomb was hidden in a bag, thinking of this thought, I still want to open it as when I pull down the zipper, I got surprised because I heard a loud " Kaboom! " , and then my friends started to laugh as they planned to trick me and surprised me. the bag was only to decieve me as they proceed with their plans to light up a firecracker at my side as I opened up the bag, surprising me with the loud sound. everyone are laughing as I try to slow the beat of my heart making it calm as it palpitate fast because of the shocked. my friends get the bag I saw and in there is many firecrackers which we will use for fun. yes it is dangerous to play with firecrackers but my friends are daredevils, they are not afraid in doing such things. they are very reckless as sometimes I'm the one who get feared by what they are doing. their reckless activity continues as new year is approaching. with the coming of new year firecrackers on the market is everywhere again, the money we got from Caroling will be used for the new year's eve as we plan to celebrate it together the seven of us. December 31 in the morning, my friends and I buy some foods and snacks we will be eating tonight as we spend the night at a hill where our favorite spot is and no one except for us go to it. foods and snacks are ready, and Reisse buy some fireworks for us to light it up as we welcome the new year. 6 pm in the afternoon everything is ready, my friends and I go to the hill and set up a tent there and wait for the new year. Jan, Vance and Kazu start to prepare the food, while me together with Reisse and Ares set up the tent. ohh, if you are looking for Henry, he is useless with this kind of work he only says about " I don't care about that, all can think about is I am beautiful ". everything is now ready as I looked up to where we are now, and it is quite overwhelming because we can clearly see the stars in the sky and view the whole town. we sitted together on a blanket and there we wait for the new year to come as we eat the food we buy. and then 11:45 in the evening, Reisse and Jan set up the fireworks as we will welcome the new year. 12 am midnight January 1, Reisse light up the fireworks as we welcome the new year, and in the town we can see also the fireworks display, everyone is overwhelmed as we celebrate the new year.
