Chapter 23 A pair of Red Swallows
Night is just approaching. Cold air enveloped the entire peak of Bukit Batok. The thick fog came rolling in-roll up a bit obstruct view. But all that did not prevent the jungle martial arts figures from staying there. Meanwhile, the howling of coyotes was getting louder and louder, they greeted each other. Some of the tails have even approached the corpses lying around the Forbidden Cave.
The wild dogs' revelry did not go unnoticed by the pair of red swallows that still stood on the highest peak of this hill. For the ten years they lived in Bukit Batok, they could memorize every inch of land well. They can look freely beneath it so they can know who has come to that place with the same purpose, looking for Cupu Manik Tunjung Biru.
"A pointless death," Wulan muttered softly.
"Only a fool throws his life away."
A pair of Red Swallows were surprised to hear a voice that came suddenly from behind. A man dressed in shabby clothes was seen standing with a jar of wine in his hand. Wulan immediately smiled knowing the person in front of him.
"You've come again, Black-cloak Madness?" Wulan's soft voice.
"Yes. I came to watch the morons fight over the empty message," the Black Cloak Madman replied.
His words had not yet been lost in the wind, the Black-cloak Madman's face turned gloomy again. His sunken eyes stared at Wulan glazed over.
"I'd love it if you guys stopped calling me Black Cloak Madness," his voice trailed off
"Then what should we call you?" asked Jake.
"Actually my name is Atmaya."
"Atmaya...?!" almost simultaneously Jaka and Wulan exclaimed in surprise
"Why are you guys surprised?" asked the Black Cloak Madness or Atmaya.
"How can we not be surprised? Grandmother Resi Suralaga often mentions your name," said Jaka.
"That is right?" asked Atmaya in disbelief.
"Did you see I lied?" Jaka asked again.
"Lie or not, that's your business. I just want to know what did Suralaga say about me?"
"Don't just call Grandpa Rishi by his name!" Wulan snorted angrily. He was not happy that his grandfather was being disrespected.
"He he he..., apparently you don't like me just mentioning his name," Atmaya could tell Wulan's feelings.
"Grandfather Atmaya, what is actually the relationship between you and grandparents receipt?" asked Jaka trying to cool the atmosphere.
"My question hasn't been answered, you've asked again!" Atmaya seemed to be grunting in annoyance.
"Fine," Jake conceded. "Grandfather rishi often mentions your name, but he never tells you the real you. He only gives a message for us to look for you after completing and perfecting all knowledge."
"Why did he tell you to look for me?" asked Atmaya.
"I don't know myself," said Jake. Atmaya looked at Wulan.
"I know, but first answer Kakang Jaka's question," said Wulan, understanding the meaning of Atmaya's view.
"He he he..., you do look like your mother. Beautiful and smart!" Atmaya chuckled.
"You know my mother?" Wulan was shocked and curious.
It was never thought that Atmaya or the Mad Black Cloak knew so much about Wulan. Of course this girl is more curious to know this old man actually. It seemed that he knew a lot about Grandfather Resi Suralaga and himself.
"I know who your mother is. A beautiful woman, smart and good at everything. It's no wonder that many young men want to marry her," Atmaya seemed to be reminiscing about the past.
Wulan is increasingly surprised by the truth of Atmaya's words. Even though her mother died when she was three years old, Wulan knew her mother very well. Her mother died because she fell victim to her husband's enemies. Unfortunate fate. Wulan did not blame her father who was a warrior. Any warrior must have many enemies,
"Unfortunately I came late that time. I just got your mother already die.
Meanwhile, Suralaga brought you to Bukit Batok yourself. I can't do anything else because he has more right to care for you than me," continued Atmaya.
"Who are you?" Wulan asked. The sound was shaking.
"Even though Suralaga is over oldher age from me, but deep orderhis family is my cousin's sister," continued Atmaya"So..." Wulan couldn't say again. She looked at the man standing in front of him half in disbelief.
"Yes. You are my grandson, Wulan." "Grandpa...!"
Wulan immediately bumped into Atmaya and hugged him. Can no longer hold back the tears of emotion.
Meanwhile, Atmaya looked teary-eyed. For Wulan, the meeting was really touching and very sudden. Jaka could only stare blankly, like he was dreaming.
They had been hugging each other for quite a while. hidden in the chest Atmaya slowly let go of the girl's embrace. Her eyes were still filled with tears looking at Wulan's face which was covered in tears. With trembling hands, he wiped the tears off her face.
"Why is Grandfather only now coming here?" Wulan asked after calming down.
"I promised Suralaga not to disturb you," said Atmaya.
"Troublesome me? What does grandpa mean?" Wulan asked not understanding.
"All these sad events started from my actions. I have spread news that is actually very secret. I am sorry and feel guilty. When I intended to take care of you, Suralaga did not allow it. But I promised to come again until you finished inheriting all of Suralaga's knowledge. I only can give you a secret about cupu."
"The secret about cupu? Then, the secret that grandpa spread?" asked Jake.
"Yes about that cupu," said Atmaya.
"Cupu? You mean Grandpa, Cupu Manik Tunjung Biru?" Jaka insisted again.
"That's right. The cupu is actually mine and I kept it somewhere. But I said that your father was holding it," said Atmaya looking at Wulan.
"Why did grandpa do that?" Wulan asked a little regretfully.
"I feel hurt for your father. He has embarrassed me in front of the family so that I was kicked out of the extended family," Atmaya was silent for a moment. After taking a deep breath, he continued. "Actually it was my fault too. I stole his heirloom sword and I hid it. It turned out that Suralaga saw what I was doing. I was challenged by your father. We then fought and I lost. But that doesn't mean the sword
I returned his inheritance. After I spread the fake news about that cupu to people, then I realized that your father's soul was threatened by people who were crazy about heirlooms. I also intend to return your father's sword, but it's too late."
Moments later things became quiet. Atmaya's shoulders shook holding back sobs of regret.
"If only I returned the sword to your father, surely he would not be killed," said Atmaya again. "Ah, never mind. Everything has passed. Everything is destined by the Almighty, Grandpa," Wulan's voice was soft.
"You don't have a grudge against me, Wulan?" Atmaya looked wistfully at Wulan.
"For what? You're the only one left for my grandfather now. Besides, everything that has happened doesn't need to be turned into a grudge that will never end."
Atmaya could not contain his emotion. Wulan immediately hugged him with deep emotion. What a big soul this girl has. After the hug was released, Wulan invited Atmaya and Jaka to sit under a tree. They sat in a circle without making a bonfire. Even though the air at the top of Bukit Batok is cold at night. But for martial arts figures like them, it's easy to dispel the cold by channeling pure air throughout the body.
"I didn't think that they still wanted Cupu Manik Tunjung Biru," said Atmaya, somewhat muttering after a long silence.
"Actually, what's so special about that cupu, Grandpa?" Wulan asked.
Atmaya looked at Wulan and Jaka in turn. His lips curved into a smile. Wulan was also surprised to see that grandfather's face suddenly brightened again. It was indeed strange that this Black-cloak Madman,so that people who are spoken to often frown.
"Grandfather will explain, won't he?" Jaka insisted.
"Did Suralaga never tell you two?" Atmaya asked again.
A pair of Red Swallows shook their heads together.
"Crazy! Apparently he's crazier than me!" muttered Atmaya.
Again, Wulan and Jaka looked at each other. It is very difficult to get information from this strange man. Issues discussed, always back and forth. What's the real secret behind Cupu Manik Tunjung Biru, so that the figures of the martial arts are determined to lay down their lives to fight over it?

The night kept creeping up late. The atmosphere at the top of Bukit Batok is actually silent. But it seemed as if the sound of wild dogs feasting on the corpses around Forbidden Cave continued to spoil the atmosphere. The wind was blowing rather hard, spreading the rancid smell of blood. It's tense as if it contains the air of camp.
Wulan still sits cross-legged in front of Atmaya. Jaka, who was sitting beside the girl, did not blink and watched Atmaya. The silent man's face seemed to be thinking about something. His breath was loud and sudden. Then slowly his head lifted and looked up. Suddenly he shook his head while spitting out spit loudly.
"Ah!"
Instantly a pair SwallowRed was surprised to hear complaint stopped, followed by the sound of a heavy object falling into the bushes. Jaka immediately jumped in the direction of the short complaint
"Bring him here!" cried Atmaya with great authority.
Jaka, who had not lost his sense of shock, found a young man lying in the bushes. He immediately dragged the man's body in front of Atmaya. It seemed that the person was still breathing, with a thick lump of saliva sticking to his forehead. Apparently Atmaya's spit was accompanied by internal exertion. It's amazing, Atmaya. He quickly knows if someone is lurking around here. Even though a pair of red swallows didn't hear anything earlier.
"Get up!" Atmaya snorted while tapping the forehead of the person lying in front of him.
Instantly the person woke up. All of a sudden the spit stuck on
The man's forehead immediately disappeared, and stuck to the end of the dry branch that Atmaya was holding. Strange.
"Please, Ki, don't kill me," said the person immediately kneeling in front of Atmaya "Who told you to spy on me?"
my eyes?" asked Atmaya coldly, his voice was Jaka watching the man who
looks young and same age with him. He himself was astonished by the man's fearful attitude in front of Atmaya. Though, judging by the way he was peeking earlier, it seemed like he had quite a bit of intelligence. To the extent that a pair of Red Swallows did not know of its presence
"You came here with your teacher, huh?" firm and deep Atmaya's voice.
"Th..., ah!"
Not to mention that person said a single word, suddenly his body toppled over. In his forehead stuck a gold nail. Wulan and Jaka simultaneously jumped and alerted with short spears with sharp edges two at the ends. While Atmaya was still sitting cross-legged in his place. He didn't seem affected at all.
"Golden Nail..." muttered Atmaya with his eyes looking straight at the golden nail that was stuck in the man's forehead.
Drag! Drag!
Two flashes of yellow light shot quickly towards Atmaya. Quickly, moved his right hand. And...
tap! tap!
Instantly, two gold nails were tucked into Atmaya's fingers. As fast as lightning, Atmaya moved his hand, and again a yellow light shot in the opposite direction towards the dark attack earlier.
"Aaaaah...!"
Two screams of pain were heard one after the other. Then they saw two bodies rolled over, falling from the bushed. Each of his foreheads was pierced by a golden nail.
"Hm... just a chuckle rotten!"muttered Atmaya a bit snorted.
"Who are they, Brother?" askWulan.
"Paku's party people Gold,"Jaka answered in a half whisper
"You know them?"
"Yes. From the weapons used. Grandfather rishi once told me about the party."
Wulan noddinghis head. If Grandmother Resi Suralaga tells about a person or a party, of course there is a meaning. At least those who are told have a fairly high level of intelligence and have names in the martial arts jungle.
When Wulan was about to open her mouth again suddenly several yellow rays came rushing towards them and Atmaya. Obviously around here there are not only three people from the party
Gold Nail. Besides those who had died earlier there were still some people lurking. It's even likely that their teacher was present as well.
Tring! Tring!
A pair of Red Swallows parried the attacks by twirling their short spears as their main weapon. Life-threatening golden nails fell down in the middle of the road and were swept away by the weapon of a pair of red swallows.
Meanwhile, Atmaya was just jumping around dodging the successive attacks that came like rain. The spikes came one after another continuously threatening the Black-cloaked Madman's body.
"Is this the only rat you brought, Jenggala?" Atmaya said aloud mockingly
After saying that, his hands moved quickly. And suddenly several golden spikes turned around, followed by a death scream. Some body toppled from the bushes and behind the trees.
"Use 'Storm Sweep', Little Wulan!" Jaka exclaimed when he saw Atmaya managed to knock down several more people with his opponent's weapon too.
"Okay, Brother!" said Wulan. Immediately a pair of red swallows jumped and held hands. Their spears spun like propellers. As if a hurricane had just happened, the spikes that threatened their lives were blown hard and turned towards their owner. Another shrill scream was heard, followed by the collapse of several people from the bushes. Backfire.
The roar of the wind from the incantation of the Pair of Red Swallows continued to work and became more and more powerful. Small trees began to float, uprooted by their roots. Pebbles were blown away by the wind from the Red Swallow's 'Storm Sweep' style. Even now the trees big start to fall. Back screams of death and panic that cut
"He he he..., good, good!" Atmaya chuckled happily.
With a calm demeanor he stood folding his arms across his chest. It seems that he is not affected at all by the 'Storm Sweep' style. Atmaya's voice continues to chuckle. Crazy like a relapse again
But the storm winds didn't last long when suddenly two beams of yellow light broke through the artificial storm. The two yellow rays aimed swiftly at the heads of the Pair of Red Swallows.
"Look out, Brother!" Wulan shouted, immediately jumping up while letting go of Jaka's hand.
Instantly Jaka jumped in the opposite direction. The two yellow beams straightened quickly and hit empty targets and only hit a large tree. There was a loud explosion sound. Turns out it came from a tree shattered into pieces by the two yellow rays.
"It's not useless for you to drain old fart Suralaga's knowledge. It's a shame, you have to open your eyes and ears more," a resounding voice sounded accompanied by deep exertion.
A pair of Red Swallows jumped again and stood side by side. Their eyes drifted to observe the dark surroundings shrouded in thick fog. The sound seemed to come from all directions. Obviously, the source of the sound belonged to someone who was quite knowledgeable. He can make sounds without knowing where the person is. A pair of Red Swallows had indeed realized from the beginning that those who came to Bukit Batok were people who had quite a high level of knowledge.
"Come on, Jenggala. I don't like playing hide and seek like a child!" cried Atmaya or the Black Cloak Madness. His voice was issued with quite perfect internal exertion.
"Ha ha ha...!" sound again. This time the sound of loud laughter was accompanied by a strong internal exertion. The sound was jarring and painful to the ear.
The moment after the laughter stopped, from a large rock appeared a figure dressed in all yellow tight. On the chest is embroidered a nail of beautiful gold thread. She had long hair that was rolled up. Some strands are left gliding up to the shoulders.
Wulan was a bit choked too when she saw the person's face. It was unexpected at all that the face was so handsome with pure white skin. Her eyes were clear like a newborn's. His lips were as red as a girl's, with a smile on his face. His body was slim, however
"He's named Jenggala?"Wulan asked herself.
