Chapter 10 After 8 Years

The days passed; months; and even years, the Vigliancos still did not return to the island of Atolon. A day won’t end without people talking about Vigliancos all over the island. Some believe they can still return while others are hopeless and impatient because it’s been years since they departed from the island. They all knew that Felix and Renata had only been given seven years to stay at Madreign and do what they had to do, but eight years had passed and they were still nowhere to be seen.
While the whole island waited for the Vigliancos to return, a lot of things happened on the island. The government has undertaken a project to re-establish the Town of Rajanseth. The project was warmly supported by King Miraculous, so the re-establishment of Rajanseth only happened within a year.
It has been difficult for civilians to recover, especially since some of them have lost their jobs or even loved ones. They did not easily get used to the new environment because they were so overwhelmed with fear that the Madreign might rush again.
Crops and animals died due to the explosion in the town. Almost all were destroyed especially the industries they were working in so most of them were forced to work in the factory in the northern part of the island, and others decided to stay first in the underground where the Tatius lived in ancient times.
The government feared what else Madreign could do. They believe it is just the beginning of the nightmare.
If they were really powerful because of their military forces, they would have stormed the whole island. Perhaps they were still scared because of what they call ‘descendants’. But since no one was selected by the gods to be their descendants, they had to focus on establishing a strict military force throughout the island. They are also preparing for the upcoming recruitment to increase the number of their soldiers.
A year later when the Vigliancos left, King Miraculous's son, Prince Edward, had passed away due to a weak heart. The doctors have did their utmost best to save the prince but it was time for His Royal Highness to leave the world.
Stellan, who was the prince's son and the new prince's heir, became an orphan at an early age. His mother died after giving birth to him. Stellan did not even get the chance to see the face of the one who brought him into this world.
Since his father, the crown prince, died, King Miraculous took the responsibility in taking care of the new crown prince.

"Dion," Guston called his son. Although they were not connected by blood, Guston treated the young boy as his.
Dion did not look back. He didn’t hear his father because he was too focused on studying.
Guston called him again, "Dion." He touched his shoulder so Dion gazed at him. "I'm going to town. Do you want to buy something?"
"Oh, I want some story books, Dad. I’m running out of books to read." Dion smiled.
Guston sighed at the answer he received from his son. Dion loves to collect and read books. Whenever Guston leaves and asks the child what he wants, he always answers books. "Another book? All right, I'll just buy you a children's story."
"What?" Dion was shocked to hear that he would only buy children's stories. "Wait, Dad—”
When Guston turned around, he suddenly coughed. Dion immediately leaned over to guide his father to sit down. He went to the kitchen to get some water and gave it to Guston. "I don't think you're okay, Dad. It’s better to stay here and rest." He stroked his father's back.
"I just swallowed my saliva. You have nothing to worry about." Guston left quickly after he lied. Dion just ignored what he said and went back to study.
Dion spent his life studying. He did his utmost best to study since his dream was to be one of the ministers in the New Order.
After playing with his friends, he will go back to his home immediately to read books.
He worked even harder when Madreign attacked Rajanseth. His goal is to help everyone and keep the peace inside and outside the island. So that, after Renata came back from Madreign, no one will be sent outside the island again; no more wars between the nations; and no more people will leave in fear of oppression.
Guston found him in a dark hallway in the underground. He was found as an unconscious baby placed in a basket. At Guston's mercy, he adopted and raised the pitiful young boy. Dion knew the fact that he was just adopted. Some men sometimes bully him because of this fact. Hearing their painful words made Dion desire to see his real parents. He believes that it will be easier for him to find his real parents when he becomes a minister.

"Hey! Come back here!" When the salesman shouted, Leones immediately ran away.
While running, Leones was holding the stolen three kilos of rice. The salesman's staff chased him. They were running fast while Leones found it hard to run away since he’s carrying three kilos of rice.
He kept running. His pursuers were approaching his course so he had to change his path and find another route home.
Leones groaned as someone pulled him into a dark hallway. There, he saw his pursuers running away.
"Leones, how are you? What did you get?" Leones turned around and saw his older brother, Nico.
Leones gulped. "It's only three kilos of rice. I almost failed and got caught, I'm sorry."
"That's okay. Let's go home." Nico pulled his brother over and went to their home using a different route so they wouldn’t get caught.
When they got home, they found Carlos in the living room, counting their budget they had for this week.
The sound of plates from the kitchen was audible. Romil was preparing their food. Leones immediately put the rice in the kitchen while Nico sat next to Carlos.
Romil and Leones came out of the kitchen simultaneously. Romil gave his brothers a crestfallen look. "You're going to be damned for what you're doing. Can you stop what you’re doing? I’ll go look for a job, just stop doing crimes."
Carlos shook his head. "I stole some meat from the market. Romil just finished cooking the meat, but we don’t have any rice to eat yet. You two were gone for so long, where did you go?" He looked at Nico and Leones.
"The salesman’s men chased him. Fortunately, I was there so I managed to drag him into the dark hallway," Nico said.
Leones rubbed his nape. "The important thing is, we still have the rice. However, the rice I stole isn’t enough for this week. I think I’ll go back and steal some again."
Romil raised an eyebrow as he looked at his younger brother. "What did you say, Leones? You’ll steal again? You almost got caught—then you’ll do it again. Leones, no, use your brain! You’re just lucky that you escaped the pursuers. We don't know what will happen next," he scolded his brother. Leo just lowered his gaze after he heard Romil.
"Romil, the important thing is, nothing bad happened. Didn’t you say that siblings shall work together? I—we know that we’re doing something dangerous and unjustifiable, but what can we do? What else can we do? This is reality, Romil. Sometimes, in order to make money, we need to take the risk," Carlos said.
