"Hello Sir..Your order is here" The waitress said bearing the tray with a smile. But she got no response. Dino still stood there shocked.
Could the dead actually awaken again. He visited her Grave!
"Mitah?" He called his voice breaking
"Mitah, who is that?" The waitress asked with a baffled look
"You are alive!" Dino exclaimed
"You must be mistaken. I am not Mitah. My name is Halimah. Please take your order. Would you?" The waitress expressed
"I know what I am talking about. Mitah, we all thought you were dead! Don't you remember me? It's me your lover, Dino"
"Excuse me Sir, can you stop? I have told you Halimah is my name! I don't know Dino or whoever you talking about. Now take your order please, I have been standing for a while. I surely have other things to do".
Dino shook his head in awe as he took the tray from her. He was unsettled as he watched her leave.
He put the tray on the table.
"Sir, is everything alright?" Gany his personal assistant asked. He was just exiting from the bathroom as he noticed his tensed state
"I know what I saw" Dino said settling on the bed. "She looks so much like her. Infact it's her"
"Who is that?" Gany asked
"The waitress that brought our order. That is my late Girlfriend, Mitah. How come she doesn't recognize me?!"
Gany paused for a while and he seemed like he was trying to process an information. "Wait, the same Mitah you spoke of the other day, the General's daughter?" He asked. Gany knows Mitah quite well. She was his senior in high school.
"Yes!" Dino said helplessly
Gany let out a chortle "No you must definitely be mistaken Sir, because Mitah is dead. She has died for over ten years now. It was announced on the news, the dailies. We all saw it. Infact, I saw her lifeless body on TV, wrapped up into the hospital's ambulance"
But Dino shook his head still in doubt. "I know what I saw Gany. It's her. The same smile, talks the same way. God damnit. I am not Crazy!"
Gany heaved a sigh. "Sir, you need to calm down, you know where I come from, a province in Africa, we believe God created a replica of everyone. People have their carbon copys without knowing!"
"I have heard that before too but not like this. This is not a resemblance. It's like the actual person! and I know she isn't a Twin"
Gany folded his arms across his Chest. He wasn't sure what to say any longer. He didn't know whether the myth of dead people reincarnating is actually true or maybe it's simply her replica his boss saw.
Gany went over to the table and opened their meal order and hummed in satisfaction. The aroma is lovely
"Sir, let's eat before it gets cold. This would taste great. Stop worrying about what you saw. You must be mistaken" Gany muttered already sitting down to devour his meal.
"Uhh...you can carry on Gany. I will join you later. I need to make a call" Dino said. He had no appetite for a meal any longer. He brought out his phone from his pants pockets. He dialed Lati's number. It rang for a while before he picked up
"Hi Dino" Lati's voice echoed 
"Hello Sir. How are you doing and how is Lucas?"
"Not doing bad, Lucas is great as well, infact he just said he wants to come over to your place for the weekend, I am thinking of dropping him over at yours tomorrow"
" I am not at home Sir. I am in another Country for a business conference. I won't be back until next week. I called to inform you of something. You won't believe who I saw"
"What is that? Who did you see?"Lati asked anxiously. 
"I would like to ask a delicate question Sir, and this is not to bring back sad memories. I just want to confirm an information"
Lati replied him he could ask
"Did you....I am sorry, did you attend Mitah's funeral? Did you watch her get buried?" 
"Well, I didn't. I couldn't bear to attend such. But my friend Camp was the one in charge of the burial arrangements. He watched her body gets buried and a video recording of it was made which he later showed me"
"So she really got buried? You saw her body actually wrapped up and then buried?" Dino asked
"Yes Dino, I did. Why are you asking these odd questions?" Lati said already getting uncomfortable. He wondered what's actually going on with him. 
"Well because I saw her, General" Dino said firmly
"What are you talking about? How can you see her when she is dead?" Lati asked baffled
"Myself and my personal assistant lodged in an hotel, I ordered for our food and the waitress who brought that order, was Mitah General"
Lati's heart skipped for a while at the mention of those words. Then he dismissed the possibility of such. "Dino that is not possible. It can't be Mitah. That person you saw might just be a resemblance of her. It happens"
"No General, it's her. She talks the same way, smiles the same way, even walks the same way!, I know it's strange, but I know what I saw" 
Lati heaved a sigh. "Look Dino, I know Mitah's death still hurts you. It's hurts me too, more than you can ever imagine, but you can't be assuming that lady you saw is Mitah, it's not healthy for you. You would be punishing yourself. Just accept the fact it's not her and move on"..
"But General.." 
Dino was cut off. "Stop it Dino and move on, you must have had a stressful day. Have a good sleep and you will get over it when you wake. Goodbye. Call me when you get back to town" Lati said hanging up. 
"Why is he not believing me too! I know what I saw" Dino said dropping the phone distressingly. 
"Sir, I think you should just forget about this and move on. It's not her. She probably just looks like her" Gany advised turning around to face him. He was almost done with his plate of food and now sipping the wine that came with it. 
Dino sighed heavily. Probably he should just shove that off his mind. She was buried. Maybe the lady just looks like her. That was a striking resemblance he has never seen in his life. He struggled to believe it was just a resemblance. He further rest his back on the bed. He was famished but wasnt sure if he should eat the meal the waitress had brought 
****** About an hour later, Dino walked over to the receptionist desk in the hotel and asked for the particular waitress that brought his food
"Oh. She has signed out for today. Her shift has ended. You need anything? Another person will be sent over"
"Oh. Not really. She will be here tomorrow?" Dino asked
"Sure. By morning" the receptionist replied. 
Dino nodded and walked away.

The next morning, Dino's meeting was slated for 10am. By 8:30 am, Dino showed up at the receptionist's desk again. This time he went with Gany. He wanted him to see her too.
"Has she resumed?" Dino asked her
"You Mean Halimah?" 
"Uhh...yeah the waitress" 
The receptionist heaved a sigh. "Sir, it came to us as a big shock, she dropped her resignation later this morning. She just left here roughly twenty minutes ago"
"What? Why?!" Dino asked shocked. 
"We don't know. We were even trying to ask her questions, she did not wait to listen. She just walked off in haste. It's strange to us all. Even if Halimah wants to take a day off, she informs the management prior to that time"
"But, didn't she give any reason for resigning?" Gany asked also baffled
"No, The only thing she said was that she is leaving the City but she didn't give any specific reasons, she just ran off'
"I think I know why she did" Dino said heaving a sigh. "I really do know why. Mitah you think I won't recognize you? You think you can run from Me?" Dino stated with a Smirk
The receptionist wondered what he was mumbling about
"Mitah? That's not her name though, She is Halimah. Is everything Okay? Do you need to see her for something?" 
"Ohh...Not really? Do you have her contacts or anyhow I could reach her?" Dino asked.
The receptionist told him to hold on while she checked her phone. She found it and called it out to him. 
Dino dailed it immediately. " The line is not available" He responded
"Oh. Guess she must have removed her line card so no one could bother her" The receptionist concluded. 
"Do me another favour pls. You have like a picture of her?"
"Uhm, Not really a picture. A passport but me giving you that isn't appropr... "
"Oh. Not to worry. I am not taking it with me. I just want you to show my P. A here. Let him have a glance" 
"Okay" the receptionist nodded. She opened a file record of Staff daily attendance. She showed Gany Halimah's section with her passport attached beside her name
Gany glanced at it for awhile
"This is her? The waitress?!" Gany uttered in awe
"Yes Gany. That's her" 
"This looks just like Mitah, you were right. Right now, I feel as if I have seen a ghost!" Gany exclaimed. 
"See what I am talking about?" Dino replied
The receptionist stood there confused yet to grab the details of what they were saying
Dino thanked the receptionist, he and Gany walked further away from her desk. 
"But if she isn't actually Mitah, why did she just flee like that? It's suspicious. I am sure she fled because she saw you" Gany concluded.  
Dino glanced at him. He sighed. "I agree with you" he replied. He puts his hands on his waist worriedly. Not sure of the next step to take. 
Gany has heard about the mystery of reincarnation but he has always disbelieved in it. Right then, he felt the mystery is actually true.
