Flashback...
Bangkok, Thailand...
"Please! Don't hurt me! I'll pay back your money. Just give me more time," the girl says as she tries to cover herself from the guy who is attacking her.
"Shut up! You useless woman, you stole my money and ran away," the man says as he continues to attack the girl.
"I didn't steal your money. I will return it, just give me more time," says the girl as she starts to sob. "My mother is sick." She adds.
"Enough of this! You are a liar and a cheat. If you can't return my money, I'll just have to end you here," the man says as he starts to strangle the girl.
"No, please don't!" says the girl in fear as she sees the man pulling out a knife from his pocket.
Meanwhile, Ten is heading to the girl's place and is about to arrive. He's still in his school uniform and is sweating since the weather is pretty hot today, yet he didn't care. He just wants to see her so badly.
Almost there. Ten thought.
When Ten finally arrives near the girl's house, he was about to walk closer when he sees the man attacking the girl with a knife, and sending her to death.
Ten is shock after what he just saw. Out of rage, he runs to the house to attack the man but he was already gone. He rides his motorcycle and drove far from the scene.
"Fai!!"
The man was gone, and all Ten could see is the girl he loved lying on the ground in front of her house dead. Tears starts to fill his eyes as he bends down to see her one last time. She is still beautiful even though she's not alive anymore. She had blood all over her body due to the attack. Ten starts to cry as he stares at the girl on the ground, lifeless. His love had to go before they could start a new page.
"Don't leave me." Ten starts to sob at the sight of the girl not breathing.
End of flashback...
2 AM...
Ten wakes up after a nightmare he had of his first love and the man who attacked her. Though it had been years since the incident, till now it still haunts him in his dreams every now and then. Ten rubs his head as he still feels a bit tipsy.
"What a nightmare," says Ten to himself.
The next day...
8 AM...
Hong Kong...
At the Wong's mansion...
Hendery rubs his eyes as the morning sun shines through his window. He gets up from his bed with his head still spinning due to the bad hangover. He doesn't remember much about what happened last night. All that he could remember was that he won the drinking game after drinking from the bottle and taking multiple shots. He didn't even remember how did he got home last night.
"Ugh, never again will I drink that much," says Hendery to himself as he rubs his dizzy head.
Hendery grabs his phone from the small table beside his bed and decides to call his brother, Lucas. He wouldn't bother to look for him in the massive mansion while having a bad hangover.
At Skylight Hotel...
Lucas stretches his arms out as his eyes flutters open. He puts his hand on his head as he slowly sits up and observe his surroundings. Suddenly he hears the bathroom door open, revealing Yuqi walking out of the bathroom while wearing a bathrobe.
"Good morning, my handsome brother," says Yuqi with a smile as she walks over to the bed to sit next to Lucas. "Do you still have a headache?"
"A little, but it'll get better," says Lucas. "What about you?"
"I'm way better now. I didn't drink too much last night," says Yuqi as she rest her head on Lucas' shoulder. "I wouldn't wanna get too drunk. I have to control myself."
Lucas gives Yuqi a smile. "That's good. You wouldn't wanna end up like me in a way. Hangover sucks," Lucas says.
"Haha, that's why I tried to control myself," says Yuqi with a small wink.
Lucas stares at Yuqi with a flirty smile. "Well, you're pretty good in taking control," says Lucas.
"Stop it, Lucas!" Yuqi says with a small giggle. "Damn, we were young and dumb."
"We are still young and dumb, my little Yuqi," Lucas says. He gets up from his bed to check his phone, which he had put on silent mode last night when he was partying with his friends. He had a lot of missed calls from Hendery and his mom.
Lucas decides to call Hendery and check up on him, knowing that he was badly drunk last night, Lucas just wanted to make sure that his brother is ok.
"Hey, Bro! You ok? Where are you?" ask Lucas.
"Ge, I'm at home. Where the hell are you? I've been trying to call you since earlier," Hendery says.
"I'm good. I'm at a hotel. Just wanted to make sure you're ok," Lucas says.
"Well, I'm better now. Mama's been looking for you all morning," says Hendery. "She wants to see you now."
"Yeah, she called me a few times. I'll be back in about an hour. Bye!" Lucas says before he hung up.
"Everything ok?" Yuqi ask.
"Yeah. My mama's just worried," Lucas says as he sits on the bed next to Yuqi.
8:30 AM...
Shanghai, China...
At the boys' house..
Ten walks downstairs with his head feeling a lot better. He walks inside the dining room to see Xiali preparing breakfast.
"Good morning, Ten," says Xiali as she puts a bowl of porridge on the table. "Breakfast is ready."
Ten looks at the dining table with a smile. He then walks to the kitchen to get a glass of water. He walks back to the dining table and takes a seat. Xiali walks out of the kitchen with another bowl of porridge in hand.
"Here you go," says Xiali as she puts the bowl in front of Ten.
"Thank you," says Ten as he gives Xiali as small smile.
Xiali pulls out a seat across Ten and the two start eating their porridge along with some wonton.
"So...I think it's better if you don't have to take me to college today," Xiali says.
"What? Why?" ask Ten, as he is surprised by what he just heard.
"I think it's better for you to get some rest," Xiali says before she continues with her porridge.
"I'm a lot better now. There's no need to worry about me," says Ten. "We're gonna go to college after this."
"Umm..you were badly drunk, Ten," Xiali says as she sounds a bit worried.
Ten lets out a sigh,"I was drunk, but I'm ok now. You don't have to worry about me."
Ten gets up from his seat and walks to the kitchen to put his empty bowl on the sink. He walks back to the dining room and takes a seat as he sees Xiali still hasn't finish with her bowl of porridge.
Again, Ten lets out a sigh,"I'm sorry I got you worried. I was suppose to be the one to worry about you, but here I am making you worry about me as if I'm a little boy."
Xiali looks at Ten with an apologetic look as she starts to feel complicated with the situation. "I just care about you, Ten. You're my friend. I don't want to trouble you too much because of me," Xiali says.
Ten stares at Xiali who is now looking at the ground as if she's avoiding eye contact with Ten. "I care about you too, Xiali."
Xiali slowly turns her head to look up and stare into Ten's eyes. She had thankful eyes as her heart struggles to not let herself get emotional with the situation. She is beyond grateful to know that she is surrounded by friends who cared for her and is willing to protect her and keep her safe. Slowly Xiali starts to form a small smile on her face.
Looking at Xiali's smile, Ten gets up from his seat with a smile as he stares into her eyes. "So, we're going to college?" ask Ten.
"Yes," Xiali says, before she finish her porridge.
10 AM...
Hong Kong...
At the Wong's mansion...
Lucas and Hendery are sitting silently in their grand-father's office room as they listen to their mother, Vivian Wong, babble about how furious she is that her plan didn't turn out well, and that it's time for a new plan.
"Those good for nothing idiots! Wait till I get my hands on them!" Vivian says.
"Child, calm yourself down. The men will bring them back and give them no mercy," says her father, Wong Feng, who is also Lucas and Hendery's grand-father
"I can't stand it anymore, Pa!" Vivian whines, before she lets out a sigh. Vivian then stares at her two sons who are sitting in front of her on the couch.
"This girl is a hard target," says Vivian. "From what I heard, she only has her eyes on one guy in college. And damn that guy is always protecting her."
"All the guys I've send had been useless in getting her. What's dumber is that they don't even know where she lives. Idiots." Vivian adds.
Just then, a knock can be heard on the office door. Hendery gets up from his seat to open the door, revealing a girl with red hair and a guy with black hair, as well as two men standing by their sides.
"Come in!" Vivian says with a strict tone.
Ningning and Junhui walks inside the office room nervously as the two men follow from behind them. Ningning is trying her best not to look scared, though she wanted to break down and cry so badly right now at the sight of Vivian and Wong Feng in front of her. Meanwhile, Junhui tries to look calm though he is really on the edge of panicking inside.
"You failure! I send you off to Shanghai for a year and this is how you return?" says Vivian with rage in her voice.
"Madame Wong, I..." Ningning tries to give an explanation.
"Shut up!" Vivian shouts as she slaps Ningning on her face, making Lucas and Hendery shock at sight of their mother slapping someone.
"You're no longer any use here! Both of you!" Vivian says as Ningning starts to burst into tears. Vivian then also slaps Junhui on the face. "Take them away!" Vivian adds as the two men drags a now crying Ningning and a traumatized Junhui out of the office room.
Vivian takes a deep breath before she grabs her cup of coffee from Wong Feng's table and takes a sip. "All of this had made me insane since the day that jerk crossed the line," says Vivian. "I don't want to grow old knowing that my enemies haven't suffer yet."
"Ma..." Lucas tries to calm his mother.
"I thought about it. If my men can't help me take revenge, I'm gonna have to let my sons do it," Vivian says.
"Ma, what do you mean?" Hendery ask in confusion.
"I didn't adopt you two for nothing, you know that. I've always wanted to have children who knows the meaning of gratitude, even it means putting their lives on the lines," says Vivian. "In this world, you have to be ready to put your life on the line to reach ethernal happiness."
Lucas and Hendery became silent after hearing their mother's words. Since Vivian adopted them when they were very young, they always got used to the gang life. They knew their adopted mom is the daughter of one of the most powerful mafias in Hong Kong. Despite the amount of times Vivian and Wong Feng had put people's life to an end, they still care for their adopted mother and grand-father.
"Ma, what do you have in mind?" ask Lucas.
"I'm sending you boys to Shanghai tomorrow morning! I already prepared everything. Get the girl and get it done," says Vivian. "She is too addicted to that transferred student. Even Junhui failed to get in her pants."
"Ma, so all you want is just for us to kidnap her?" Hendery ask.
"Or something like that?" Lucas ask.
"Win her trust, and take her here. I want that girl to suffer in both love and life," says Vivian. "She won't get away this time."
Hearing those words, Hendery and Lucas could only nod at their furious mother as they continue to listen to her babbling rage.
A few hours later...
8 PM...
Lucas is packing all the stuff he would bring to Shanghai. He is still surprised by the sudden mission, yet he knew that it still needs to be done. And if this is the only way to make his mother happy, he would do it anyway.
Just then, Hendery walks inside and see Lucas still busy packing his stuff.
"Are you all pack yet?" ask Hendery.
"Almost," says Lucas. "I'll be needing a lot of stuff."
"Yeah," says Hendery. "You know, sometimes I actually wonder though..."
"About what?" ask Lucas.
"Are we actually bad enough to kidnap a girl we don't even know?" ask Hendery.
Lucas lets out a sigh. "Well, we have to. It's kinda what we are used to seeing since we were little," says Lucas.
"I know," says Hendery. "And I almost thought Junhui was smooth enough to get her under his skin." Hendery adds with a small chuckle. "By the way, what was her name again?"
"Zhang Xia Li," says Lucas as he continues to pack his stuff.
