Chapter 17

Lucas walks over to Xiali as she was in the middle of talking with Ten. Xiali looks at him with a small smile, while Ten just glance at him without smiling.
What the hell is he doing here?
Ten thought.
"Hey! Fancy seeing you guys here," Lucas says as he smiles at Xiali, irritating Ten even more.
"Yeah," Ten says as he tries to sound casual, though Lucas could sense that he wasn't happy with his presence.
"You alone?" XialI ask.
"Nah. I'm with Hendery, but he's probably lost on the dance floor or something," says Lucas as he tries to make it sound like a joke.
Xiali's lets out a giggle. "I see," Xiali says.
Ten's POV...
I glance at the sight of Xiali and Lucas smiling at each other. It irritated me every time Lucas tries to approach Xiali. The guy just can't seem to leave the girl alone, even when she's with me. The more he tries to approach, the more I think he's trouble, and I'm not gonna let him get near Xiali.
"So you guys came here together?" Lucas ask.
I put my arm around Xiali's shoulder as I form a fake smile at Lucas. "Yeah. We go everywhere together, as always," I say, making Xiali blush at my sentence.
Lucas glance at Xiali for a moment before glancing back at me. I could tell he wasn't happy with my statement, yet he tries to play it cool with a small chuckle.
"Well, well, if it isn't the dynamic duo," Hendery says as he walks up to us. He looks at me with a smile before throwing a sassy wink at Xiali. What the hell?
"Hi Hendery!" Xiali says. "Did you get lost on the dance floor?"
"Almost, but I found my way through the flashing lights to you guys," Hendery says with a rather flirty tone, which literally annoyed me. What do these brothers want anyway? First was Lucas, now Hendery. These guys really don't give up do they?
"In fact, I was wondering if I could have a dance with you while I'm still sober," Hendery says as he glance at me. "That is if your friend here doesn't mind?"
The fury in me starts boiling up after hearing Hendery's statement. Yet I knew I have to keep calm, since putting a fight with them at a club would not be a professional thing, especially since they're not doing much other than just testing my patience.
Xiali glance at me with a confuse look, as if she is looking for a proper answer. Without thinking, I grab her hand tightly, making her a bit surprised. "Well, too bad because she promised me a dance first. Maybe you could try again next time," I say as I stare at Hendery with a sharp look. I noticed Lucas staring at the two of us speechless. "Let's go, Baby." I
pull Xiali away from Lucas and Hendery as we head to the dance floor.
On the dance floor....
"What was that about, Ten?" Xiali ask as she stares at me with a curious look.
"Would it be wrong if I drag you all the way here for a dance?" I ask with a smirk on my face, making her roll her eyes. I have to admit, I like it when she does her signature eye roll. It looks so cute.
"I can't dance in front of a crowd, Ten," Xiali says. "Why did you drag me all the way here when we could have a nice drink there?"
"We wouldn't be having a quality time with those two guys interupting us," I say.
To my surprise, Xiali lets out a giggle at my sentence. "Oh come on, they weren't causing trouble or anything," Xiali says.
I let out a sigh. This girl is too innocent for this cruel world. After all that happend, she still has a positive perspective towards the Wong brothers. Damn.
"Ten, look at me," Xiali says as she grabs both of my hands, making my heart skip a beat at her touch. It's almost like her hands are magical. I stare into her eyes as she stares back with a cheeky smile. Ok, what's going on in her mind?
"Are you jealous?" Xiali ask as she holds her hand.
I let out a sigh after hearing what she just said. Is it really important whether I am jealous or not? I'm trying to protect her from some possible gangsters and she's asking me whether I feel uncomfortable if they're approaching her.
But again, every time she ask me that, I couldn't help to find her so innocent that it draws me to her cuteness even more. I wasn't planning to feel like this when I decided to be her guardian angel. "Would it be important to you if I was jealous? We haven't even started dating," I say with a little seductive tone.
"I just wanted to know," Xiali says as she glance down. "If you happen to be jealous."
I start to notice how her expression looks upset. I guess she didn't like my reaction or answer. I wanted to say she was sensitive but again I realize that my words could be a real pain at times. Damn, you messed up, Ten.
Without hesitation, I pull her closer to me as the two of us embrace, surrounded by a crowd of people dancing their hearts out. I hug her tightly as she bury her face in my chest, which got my heart beating faster at her touch.
"Xiali, of course it irritates me when I see you interacting with the Wong brothers, knowing that they could be the possible enemies. I care for you and I don't want you to get near the wrong guys. You're a great woman. You deserve to be with a great man," I say as I stroke her back gently. I could feel her heart beating faster to mine at every stroke. But other than that, I could also feel her tears on my chest as it stains my shirt. Damn, I just made her cry.
"So...just answer me, are you jealous?" Xiali ask while still having her face bury in my chest.
I let out a sigh. "I am jealous. Isn't it obvious?" I ask, making her pull away slowly. I could see her eyes that are still filled with tears, which broke my heart.
"Really?" Xiali ask.
"Yes," I say as I look down as the tension between us gets awkward.
Xiali takes a deep breath. "I'm sorry for being dramatic just now. Clearly I was the one who wanted to take things slow but here I am being a drama queen," Xiali says.
"No, don't be," I say. "I was the one who needed a filter. I should have known how to deal with women better."
Xiali glance at me with a smirk. "You've handled too many women, Ten," says Xiali as she cross her arms. "I assume you to be an expert at it."
Her smirk actually turns me on just at the sight of it. Something tells me I won't need alcohol to get lost tonight, since looking into her eyes already got me lost in a dream. I smile shyly at this feisty girl in front of me. "Dealing with a lot of women doesn't make one an expert. But having the ability to handle one amazing lady is a gift to himself," I say.
Xiali's cheeks starts to turn red as our eye contact gets deeper with the loud music playing in the background. I start to study her cute face under the shinning lights. Her sparkling brown eyes flutters beautifully, as my vision soon moves to her cute lips. I could feel the heat rising in between us as my heart starts beating faster. I remember just how soft her lips felt when we first kissed that night. For everytime I touch her I felt a deep passion from within, and for everytime she touch me I felt like sparks bursting out of my heart. It was a night that made me feel just how beautiful love is after a while. It was the night where I knew that I had found the feeling of love again, just by looking at Xiali and holding her through the night.
I stare deeply into Xiali's eyes as I slowly steps closer to her. I get a good hold of her shoulders as she still looks lost in the moment. "Look, how about if I make it up to you by teaching you how to dance?" I ask her with a small smile.
Xiali soons forms a small yet awkward and shy smile as she stares at me. "Ok," says Xiali.
Hearing that, I pull her closer to me as we start to dance slowly through the blasting music. Xiali would glance at her surroundings every now and then to see if anyone is staring at us.
"Let them watch," I say as we continue to dance with my hands around her waist.
"How are you able to feel comfortable with people watching you dance?" Xiali ask.
"Because I learned to not care about what other people's gonna say," I say. "You told me that, remember?"
Xiali's facial expression soon turns from shy to slightly comfortable, forming a small smile on her lips. "I'm surprised you remember what I told you," says Xiali.
"How can I forget? I'm your guardian angel," I say with a rather flirty tone, making her smile wider which sends a warm feeling in me. I love seeing her smile.
Meanwhile...
Lucas's POV....
"Here's your vodka," says the bartender as he puts the vodka on the table.
"Thank you," I say casually before taking a sip of the liquid.
"You weren't wrong," says Hendery before he takes a sip of his red wine. "She's a tough target. Especially with that Ten guy always with her."
"Told you so," I say to my younger cheeky brother who is standing beside me. "That's why I have to make her consider me. I have to show her what she's missing out."
"We have to get rid of that Ten guy though. He's the main obstacle in our mission," Hendery says.
"That's why, we have to figure out a way to get rid of him," I say.
After a moment of thinking as I watch the two youngsters dancing the night away from a distance, I pull out my phone without any hesitation from my pocket. I start to type a message to someone I know, making Hendery turns his head to see me.
"Ge, what are you doing here?" Hendery ask me with curiousity.
"Business matters," I say casually. After I'm done texting, I put my phone back in my pocket before grabbing my glass of vodka for another sip.
A few hours later...
11 PM...
After drinking and dancing the night away, Ten is now driving Xiali home. He asked her about whether she wanted to stay at the boys' place since she is now pretty drunk, but she refused since she didn't want to see Yangyang at the moment, knowing that he'll be there. Luckily Ten is still able to drive carefully since he didn't drink much.
"We're here," says Ten as gets out from his car to open the door for Xiali. He opens the car door and helps her get out carefully, since her head is spinning and her steps became messy. He walks her to the front door of the house while holding shoulders gently.
"Thanks for driving me home," Xiali says as she opens the front door of the house. "Goodnight, Ten."
"Goodnight, Xiali," says Ten before Xiali closes the door on his face. She sits down on the floor as she holds her head which is still spinning.
"Damn, I drank too much," says Xiali to herself.
Slowly, Xiali gets up from the floor and locks the front door with her key. She turns around and starts walking upstairs. As she is about to reach the second floor, she almost bumps into  Winwin who was about walk downstairs, causing her to almost lose her balance and fall from the stairs.
"Xiali!" says Winwin as he pulls her arms so that she won't fall down the stairs, but instead her drunk body made her lose control and she accidentally falls on top of Winwin as he pulls her arm.
"Xiali?" Winwin ask with a confused tone. He could feel his cheeks starting to blush at the awkward position they're in.
"My head is spinning," Xiali says in a drunk tone. She slowly starts to burst into tears.
Winwin becomes both surprised and confuse at the same time with the situation.
She's drunk. Winwin thought.
After a while, Xiali stopped with her crying and starts to move her head as she feels her head is still spinning uncomfortably. Winwin starts to get up slowly as he places his hands around Xiali's waist and moves her to the floor. He gently carries her slowly to her room. He places her on her bed and puts a blanket on her.
At Xiali's room...
Winwin starts to stare at Xiali who is lying on her bed in a drunk state. He never noticed how adorable his step-sister is back when they were younger. Yet, looking at her tonight made him wonder why didn't he realize it before.
Winwin, what the hell are you thinking? You shouldn't be staring at your drunk step-sister. That could seem creepy to her. Winwin thought.
"Winwin," Xiali says in a drunk tone.
To be continue...
