"Here's the device David", Mr Robinson moved closer to him. They were in his lab. "I've forgotten what my colleagues call it", he scratched his head, trying to remember, "But it's going to alert you once Death's hungry and wants to attack", he explained. He wore the wrist watch like device on David's wrist. "This is like a wrist watch", said David as he gave it a long stare. "It's more than a wrist watch. It displaying the time is just for a disguise. Don't let people use it to avoid your secret being disclosed", Mr Robinson instructed David. David nodded his head, promising to be obedient. "But...won't Death start devouring people before I get to the location?", David questioned with his hands at his jaw. "Death gets hungry steadily...that's the time it tries to come out in the open from wherever it's hiding from. While it tries coming out, I think you'd be able to get there if quick enough", Mr Robinson being so confident in himself, was happy as he spoke. "If only Death could control its hunger, we wouldn't be losing hundreds of people whenever it attacks", said David. "If it even sees a human on its way and it's not hungry, it would still chop off the person's head", replied Mr Robinson. "That's really a big problem. I do beat it up easily when fighting but pain doesn't last long in it. It gets up in a second and wants to fight back", said David, heaving a sigh. Mr Robinson ignored what David just said but rather, said something about Death not being able to control its hunger. "Death can't control its hunger. Check it out...it's the inability to control our emotions, feelings and more that's the cause of all the bad things on Earth. You see it right?", he asked David. David began to think about it. "You don't need to think much about it. People do bad things because of greed, pleasure and probably depression", he explained. David looked at him in confusion when he heard his last word. "Yes of course! Suicide is one bad thing right? Some people do other bad things when depressed but let's talk about suicide", Mr Robinson sat on a stool and offered David a stool also. "I'm talking about suicide because my one time best friend once killed herself", Mr Robinson began talking. "That's really sad to hear", replied David. Mr Robinson sighed;"Yeah it is! But the saddest thing to hear was she committing suicide because the boyfriend broke up with her." "What the...", David left his mouth agape, not wanting to say the last word. "They're lots of people committing suicide for the same reason and she being my best friend, hurts me most", added Mr Robinson. He saw as David's face became sad all of a sudden and stopped talking. After a moment of quiet, he decided to ask what was wrong. "What's bugging you dude?" David looked up at him and replied;"My girlfriend broke up with me." "Ouch! What went wrong?", he asked. David sat up straight;"On two occasions, we were together when Death showed up. I'd to sneak off to change into Ratboy and she saw it as I got too scared and ran away, leaving her alone, not bothered about her safety. She forgave me the first time but the second time led to her breaking up with me." "I understand what you're going through right now David. But that wasn't a copybook reaction from her, I'd have had a private chitchat with my partner if I was her to really find out the truth", Mr Robinson shrugged off his shoulders. "What's the use? I'd have still lied because I'm not to tell anyone of my identity", David replied, slightly annoyed. "Calm down David. I'll figure something out. Let me see a picture of the girl", he requested. David brought out his phone and opened his Images. He loaded Stella's photo and gave his phone to Mr Robinson. "Here she is", he said. Mr Robinson took his cell phone and looked at the photo for a very short time. "She attends your school also right?", he asked David. David signified yes to him by nodding his head. Mr Robinson swiped right and saw another image of Stella and her Mum. "They look alike", he said. "Huh?", David got confused. "This is her Mum right?", he showed David the picture. "That's her Mum. She's the owner of the biggest and most luxurious bridal store in this City", David answered. "Oh yeah! I know the place. My plan will go smoothly then", he looked at David to see how he'd react. David kept a face Mr Robinson understood as he wanted an explanation. "I'll pick her up from school and have a chitchat with her", Mr Robinson smiled. "Her Mum often picks her up from school but at times, she goes home on her own. She won't just follow you when she doesn't even know you", David replied. "Relax Dave! I'm an expert in artifice, I know exactly what to do. Trust me on this!", he assured David. "Well...just to let you know, she always goes home on her own on Thursdays", David disclosed. "Thanks for the information. I'm going to talk to her and she'll come back to you. Okay?", Mr Robinson smiled at him. David kept quiet with a gloomy face and Mr Robinson felt so sorry for him.
