Mum pecked David at the cheek. "Dad and I are going to see Uncle...you know he's been severely ill for days", she informed him.
     "Goodbye Son! I'm sure you can walk totally independently now in case you'd need anything while we're gone", Dad stared at him with concern. David nodded his head, demonstrating a yes. "That's good then", Dad felt relieved.
     Dad and Mum walked out of the room. Mum went out first, Dad turned back to him and smiled before walking out.
     "Oh well! Me alone in the house first time in a while", said David.
     *                       *                       *
     Mr Robinson and Stella got caught up in a traffic jam in one of the major roads of Calabar City. Out of frustration and anger, Stella beeped the car horn multiple times that became absurd.
     "Woah", he took off her hand from the car horn, "Relax! It's only a matter of time...David is at home...not going anywhere else", he gestured for her to stay calm.
     Not far behind were Stella's parents, also stuck in the traffic. "Calabar's always known for traffic congestion", her Mum complained. She picked up her cell phone and saw the time was 6:24 pm. "With the way we're moving so slowly, we could get home past 8pm", she showed her husband the time. He was relaxing on his seat, waiting for anytime they could drive a little bit forward.
     At the other lane, in front of Mr Robinson and Stella were David's parents. "I think I should call your brother and inform him we'll arrive late", said David's Mum, after no movement of vehicles for a pretty long while.

     David however was in his room, watching a movie on TV in front of his bed. "Since my parents seized my phone, I'll make use of you from today until I get it back...maybe after full recovery", he spoke directly to the TV, as though it could hear him.
     *                     *                     *
     While lots of people were still stuck in the traffic jam, people blowing their horns randomly, Death secretly broke down the road, from underneath, below a man's car and came out. It laid flat on the ground, below the car to avoid being seen for the meantime.
     Facing upwards, it carefully peeped out its face, making sure it touched no part of the car. It took in a deep breath of fresh air. Its stomach then rumbled...it was time to eat!
     It jumped out to the open very quickly. Before anyone could make a move, it broke through the windscreen with its hand and dragged out the man inside it, breaking the glass even more. It ate up the man's head and threw him far away. Everyone around ran out of their cars for their lives.
     Mr Robinson and Stella both saw a person without a head fly above them and landed on Stella's parents vehicle's bonnet. They were both shivered in fear. Her Mum shouted so loudly;"What the hell is that?"
     David's parents also saw the headless person landing on Stella's parents bonnet at the other lane. The cries and shouts of people fleeing for their lives got to the ears of the people around there. They were all frightened and gradually came out of their cars.
     "Oh no! Death's shown up", Stella mumbled, fear gripping her.
     "David's not too strong and prolly doesn't know about this one", Mr Robinson spoke within himself and told Stella to run away with him for their lives.
     "We're all in serious trouble", David's Mum came out of the car. She and Dad ran away with others to find a hiding place.

     David had just used the restroom and came out. He saw the watch Mr Robinson gave to him and limped over to check it out because it was reflecting multiple colours...what it did whenever there was danger.
     "Oh no!", he picked it up, "How long did I spend in the restroom?", he checked out for the location. "It's not even far away", he transformed into Ratboy, and limped out of his room.

     With his rat speed, Ratboy ran past some people that were running away from Death. They all stopped and hailed him, wishing him lots of good luck.
David stood up on the roof of a high building. It spotted Death and it was about to attack his parents. David became very enraged and hurriedly ran down the building in his rat speed.
    Stella saw him and left Mr Robinson, running to go meet him. "Where you going Stella?", Mr Robinson yelled at her.
     David dragged Death towards him and it let go of his parents. His parents were happy to see him. They stood by the road swiftly with the rest to watch the fight, everyone now feeling a little bit safe from Death.
     As David held Death's hands, they looked at each other, both boiling in rage, though Death's anger alone was visible to the people. Death angrily removed its hands off the clutches of Ratboy. They walked in a circle, staring at each other. David began to relive the torture he got from Death the last time and was charging up, his costume changing to a green coloured outfit.
     Death smirked at him and became invisible. This petrified everyone, wondering where it had disappeared to.
     "This is when David should make use of his powerful sense of smell", Mr Robinson spoke inwardly.
     David turned and saw Stella standing still, some distance away, with a moody face, looking at him. He felt she wanted talking to him and wanted going to see her.
     He perceived the presence of Death and quickly dodged a punch from it. The people could not see what he was dodging from.
     With his smelling power and the anger got from how he was beaten up in the previous fight, David mercilessly and threw it away. It smacked hardly against the ground and lost its invisibility.
     Death stood up immediately in shock. It tried with all its might but could not become invisible again.
     "How did David do that?", Mr Robinson wondered, awed by it.
     Death angrily ran to destroy Ratboy but was no way so powerful as he used to at the moment. With super strength, he threw Death up in the air. He dug through the ground quickly and ran underground to the spot Death was meant to land on. He dug out of the ground, jumping high up to meet Death. He punched it upwards. David then pushed himself higher, above Death, punched it downwards hardly, it smashing to the road.
     David wanted landing on Death but it ran off and climbed up a vehicle. David pursued after it and they were jumping from on vehicle to the other. When David got fed up, he stepped up his speed and got to Death, pushing it off and it crashed on the windscreen of another car.
     David activated his super strength and jumped to the car, landing on the bonnet. He swiftly grabbed Death by the neck and front flipped off the car, making Death land on the ground on its back while he lands on his feet.
     "Ouch!", he helped his injured leg. Death surprised him with a blow across the face. His Mom held Dad's hand tightly when she saw it, feeling pity for her Son.
     Death wanted going for a second strike but David held the hand...it tried with the other hand but still held it.
     "Now that's enough. Let me finish you to this time", he said to Death angrily. He pushed Death away slightly...still close to him though. He punched it at the belly strongly...it even vomited out its greenish blood on the road.
     David then switched to super speed and punched Death at the chest multiple times in a few seconds, making it vomit more of its blood out.
     Death...still trying to recover itself was given a neck breaker by Ratboy, after switching off from super speed. He picked it up and banged it twice to the ground. He then made it stand up and used his legs to make it kneel down. He punched its neck continuously and fastly. Death got angry and stood up to revenge but Ratboy was just way too strong for it.
     He held it by the neck, carried it up and smashed it to the ground. He picked it up again and punched it at the belly again, compressing it...and it didn't go back to its normal shape.
     David switched back to his super speed mode, punching and kicking Death all over until it fell down flat to the ground.
     He made it stand to its feet another time. "Your existence ends now", he held its neck tightly, one more time, making it feel suffocated. David used his claws and pierced through Death's neck and then used his other hand's claws and pierced through its stomach. What a painful way to die!
     Death melted slowly until it completely became mere liquid that flowed down the road. Everybody shouted in jubilation at the end of Death's existence.
     "David just defeated Death this time without a scratch on him", Mr Robinson found it difficult to believe what he saw.
     "We made a very big mistake doubting our son", Mum whispered to Dad's ear.
     "Yes we did actually", he replied.
     David turned to Stella and he signified for her to come to him, which she did. He held her hand and with his super speed, he zoomed out of the scene with her.
     "Where's Ratboy taking our daughter?", her Mum became curious.
     "Relax! Probably just wanting to talk to one of his fans", her Dad replied with a childish smile.
    Mum looked at him surreptitiously with annoyance. "What a carefree Dad!", she said to herself.

David and Stella landed on a building, not seen by anyone. Stella felt dizzy and David held her to prevent her from falling. She gradually got back to herself.
     "I'm very sorry David. Your creator told me everything, I simply overreacted which wasn't good. I...", she began apologizing.
     David covered her mouth with his hand. "Shhh!", he didn't want her to continue, "I understand all your actions then. It's not your fault in anyway." He opened his arms wide for a hug and she hugged him tightly, shedding tears of joy to finally be with David again.
     Mr Robinson was having dinner in his home with David and his parents. He served them food and joined them in eating.
     David's Dad playfully raised up the chicken lap piece he was served. "Cheers to this amazing superhero", he said.
     Everyone else raised their and spoke in unison;"Cheers!!"
     "I'm sorry for the way my husband and I spoke to you the other day when we first met", David's Mum expressed her remorse.
     "Yeah! Sorry for the other day", Dad concurred.
     "There's no problem. I understood you guys. As loving parents, you guys didn't want anything bad to happen to your Son."
     David attempted changing the topic, not feeling comfortable with the aura at the moment. "After dinner, what's the next thing we could do?", he raised his voice to be noticed.
     "We'll go home and sleep Son. Remember you had a tedious fight today and you're still recovering", Dad replied with a smirk. David was happy inside though, he got what he wanted...changing the topic.
     Mr Robinson remembered to say something to them. "Speaking of fight, don't let anyone else find out he's Ratboy...don't let people know you guys know who Ratboy truly is. SHC would banish him if they find out", he warned.
     David's parents did not take it serious as he did, but they promised not to let anyone find out anything about Ratboy. "We promise!", they spoke in unison. They all continued with their food and chitchatting about very random unimportant things.
     The next day in the morning, Stella stood by the school gate while other students walked into the school. She checked out the time on her wrist watch, tapping her feet, waiting impatiently for David to roll up.
     David suddenly came into sight. She sighted him crossing over the road to go meet her.
     "Hey Cutie!", he greeted.
     "You came to school really late today", she kept a straight face.
     "It's not my fault. You know...going to school after a week or so? This is always bound to happen", he replied, keeping a face that expressed he also knew what he was saying was ridiculous.
     "Let's go inside please", Stella gestured for the gate.
     "Oh yeah!", he brought out his hand. They both held hands and walked into the school.
     "You were so brave and ruthless yesterday. You defeated Death without having a scratch on you", she said to him in a low voice, so that no one would hear them.
     "Nah! I got a punch from it...I think", he giggled.
     David then saw his clique not too far away. They were happy seeing him again in school after his absence for days. They got even happier when they realized the girl beside him was actually Stella.
     "David! David! David!", they chanted his name as he walked down towards them.
     "Oh no! We've got lots of explanation...and lies for then right?", David joked with Stella.
     "I know right! Let's begin cooking them up so they get done before we meet up with them", she joked along. They both laughed over it.
     "Yeah! Let's get them cooking right up", he replied.
What a wonderful ending!!
