Chapter 30
"Haya?" Avin gasped at the sound of Haya's voice.
Avin's head turned around, looking afraid, confused, and unsure.
"Avin?" Haya broke into painful tears as she held Avin's hand to let her know her presence.
"Haya! Is it really you?" Avin touched Haya's face, trying to feel every bit of her.
"Please tell me you can see me," Haya pleaded out of desperation.
Avin's hands were trembling, and Haya's heart was hammering in her chest.
"Oh my god..." Avin started crying again. "You're right here. It's not a dream; it's really you."
"Yes, yes! I'm here!" Haya answered, holding on to Avin's hand tightly.
"Have you talked to the Creator?" Avin sounded hopeful.
"Soon, Avin..." Haya hugged Avin.
The two women clung to each other in a warm embrace that seemed to last forever as the world slowly returned to normal.
"Haya!"
Avin let Haya and Red into the small dwelling she and Haya lived in when they were young.
"I missed this." Haya looked around the place she and Avin had lived for a long time, away from the Orders.
"You have company?" Avin asked while slowly walking her way to prepare something to eat.
"Yes. But I cannot tell you now. We still need to get to the Order," Haya said, trying to guide Avin.
"Why?" Avin almost dropped to her knees upon hearing the word order.
"The Order got someone I need to talk to the Creator," Haya explained.
"If that is the case, let me help you," Avin said.
"At your state, I'm afraid you can't. I cannot afford to lose you again!" Haya tried to convince Avin.
"But..."
"Avin, I'm strong now. I've got my gift. After all this, I'll have you come with me to experience my gift," Haya happily said.
"That is the nicest thing I have heard in a long time," Avin said.
"But Avin, tomorrow we have to practice something. It is an important thing in order for us to get inside the walls secretly."
"What is that?"
"We have to learn how you can let us be in your gift; the longer you can hold, the better," Haya sadly said.
It tore her to ask for Avin again, but she had to in order to get Blue back and to finish what she had started.
"Okay." Avin agreed and went over to her table, where a few objects lay on top of a piece of white cloth covering it. "Let us begin then."
They talked all night. Throwing ideas and experiences about how they would get into Avin's gift.
The next morning, Haya woke up to find the sky completely dark outside. She walked over to the window to look through the small opening. The sky was covered by gray clouds, with lightning occasionally flashing inside.
Her heart sank when she realized what the storm meant.
"This Order recognized your presence," Red said in his low voice while sitting on a chair behind Haya. "You seem to have had a rough night."
"I know. And I am dying to know why my presence mattered so much in Order that they had to take Blue hostage to get me in!" Haya sounded curious. "I just hope Avin could hold on longer for us to enter the walls."
Haya knew she couldn't get through the Order without Avin, but she needed to keep Blue safe. And if she had to wait a little longer, so be it.
She spent the rest of the day practicing Avin's gift.
The wind picked up and the rain poured on them constantly as soon as they stepped outside to get a bigger space to practice.
The storm, though, kept getting worse, and even Haya couldn't keep up with Avin anymore. They were soaking wet, and their bodies hurt so badly they wanted to scream or throw up, but they kept going because Blue's safety depended on them doing well today.
They were soaked to the bone by the end of the day.
"We have to take some rest, or we'll be losing our chance to get Blue back." Red smiled weakly.
"You have a point," Haya said, knowing how exhausting it is to be in someone's gift.
Then Haya saw Avin standing by the door, not minding her getting drenched in the rain.
"Come in now, Avin. You will get sick!" Haya called to Avin, but she would not flinch on her spot.
"I'm sorry, Haya," Avin apologized, and Haya could clearly see that Avin was crying silently in pain. Her voice was broken. "There's nothing I can do."
Haya didn't understand what Avin said; she could only hear what came out of her mouth.
"Avin? What do you..."
And before Haya could even finish her sentence, a strong whip of force hit her across the face.
Her vision blurred, and the world spun violently. A strong smell filled her nose with rotten eggs and something else she could not identify but felt awful in a bad way.
The force also hit Avin's body so hard that it knocked her straight into one of the trees that surrounded the tomb.
Everything was silent. No wind, no rain, and no thunder—Avin was lying on the ground unconscious, blood pouring out of a big cut on her torso.
Haya's eyes widened in horror. And then she fainted.
When she opened her eyes, she found herself tied up on a bed.
"Welcome back, Haya!" a grim voice rang in her head. She was unable to move anything, no matter how much she struggled.
She looked around the room, only to notice that there wasn't anyone else there.
She realized that she was in a room that felt so familiar.
"Your strength is, as always, breathtaking and incomparable." The voice laughed.
Haya's head snapped towards the source of the laughter. Then she noticed a man seated on a throne with three empty seats on each side, just across this vast room. He was smiling with evil satisfaction.
The man gestured with a flick of his fingers, and Haya was lifted into the air. And behind her, Haya's eyes widened to see Blue walking and sitting beside the throne.
"Blue!" Haya called as she struggled off the ropes.
Blue looked at Haya as if he had never known her. It was gravely painful for Haya.
"What happened?" Haya gasped in despair.
"If you want to get him back, you must fulfill your true duty!" the evil voice growled.
"I don't know what you are saying!" Haya shrieked as the rope tightened.
"Then I'll let you know. Once there were Seven Great Beings. No power can destroy them as they were given great gifts from the Creator. But...sadly, they wanted more. The Creator felt betrayed, so he designated Pure humans to perish the seven greater beings. They are called Purgers. And you, my dear Haya, are the last ones of the remaining Purgers. Now we only need one request from you and you will get Blue back."
"What is it?" Haya asked, still confused and unsure.
"Find the last of the greater beings, Purple, and take her to us. As Purger, you can take her easily!" The voice commanded.
"I cannot let you!" Red wailed, surprising the Orders with a forceful attack.
Haya was freed from the rope and unleashed her power in anger as the Order took Blue away again.
In a glimpse, the city was on fire! Haya reigned her fury within the walls of the Order. It was a nightmare. The night was filled with agonizing cries and laments as beings perished in a glimpse as Haya's light grew immensely as she succumbed to her burning rage.
"Return Blue, immediately!" Haya roared.
"Haya!" a weak voice called from below.
Haya looked down and saw Avin with a child in her arms.
Haya dashed down; the force around her subsided.
"Please, take my daughter and leave. The city will be in ruins!" Avin pleaded.
"What do you mean?" Haya frowned.
"The Order released a vanish order. Leave now, Haya. The Order is a force no one could just defy, especially a woman who can control both light and dark and can make anyone feel pain," Avin warned.
"But I won't leave without Blue! And who is that woman you are talking about?"
"You will know eventually. If you really want to take Blue with you, find that Purple and make her your ally. It is the only way you can stop the incoming wrath of the Keeper, accompanied by a Watcher. It was told that this Keeper, the strongest among all spirits, was sealed and vanished as it has a strength second to the Creator. Go! Take my baby, too!" Avin cried, looking at the child.
Haya looked at the child. "Strongest spirit? Little Khira told me about a something like that. Fine, but you have to come with me."
Haya started to travel, transporting as many people as she could.
"Red! We have leave! Come!" Haya squealed, and before the rain of terror hit Red, who was lost in anger, Haya was able to transport Red back to the village.
"HAYA, YOU ARE SHOT!" Red shouted while rushing towards Haya, who was lying on the ground and bleeding when they reached the village, away from the Order.
"I...I need to..." Haya fainted, and before her eyes, a strong light came to her eyes.
"Welcome to Heaven, Haya!" a voice greeted.
"Is the Creator here? Wait, am I dead?" Haya asked, almost freaking out in excitement.
"No! You can now go back to Earth!" the voice said, and before Haya could react, she was back at Red's arm.
Haya and Red spent their days traveling then. Days turned into months. And months turned into years.
Haya died multiple times during their travels. But she kept living, and she thought maybe the Creator wanted her to be a part of something.
After a few more times, finally, at the edge of a cliff, Haya found herself lying on a green meadow. After quite some time, from a distance, under a huge old tree, Haya saw Purple.Download Novelah App
