Chapter 29
"It was beautiful. It was different! Life is very different from this. There are colorful floating things for children called balloons, and there are good foods. Enough to delight our stomachs, not just to suffice hunger. And people were dancing in music; your body sways freely!" Haya happily narrated as Little Khira and other little children listened to her by the stream.
"That is very nice!" Khira squealed in delight. "Show us, Haya! How do they dance? How does music cause them to dance?"
"Like this!" Haya danced silly steps as she remembered her travels with Blue. They have been traveling for many years now.
The little children stood up and swayed with Haya as they giggled along.
"Wait!" Haya said, picking up two stones. She hit the two stones together and produced some rhythm.
The children were filled with more joy at the rhythm of the two rocks.
Soon, Haya had a lot of children following along with the rhythm. They started clapping their hands and humming along.
"You are singing!" Haya happily said.
Far away from the river's edge, Blue, together with Gold and Red, watched like little kids, envying the great moment.
"This girl is indeed different!" Gold said, a little annoyed.
"I told you!" Blue said, smiling widely.
"You can say that!" Red looked in disbelief at Blue.
"Her tales were going around all day in the village. I just hope people won't hope so much!" Gold sighed deeply as he looked into the distance.
"But what if we could make that world for these people?" Blue insisted, a little hopeful.
"Stop it, Blue. We have only one reason why we are keeping Haya. And that is for everyone to Return! Come on, we have many things to do!" Gold sounded pissed.
"She needs to leave. She is not from here, and having her for long here may disturb the Balance. And you clearly know that. And we need to look for others, for Purple," Red reminded Blue.
"I understand," Blue said.
As for Red, he kept glancing at Haya. He felt his heart ache a little more every time. He needed something more.
Haya brought the children back to the village and sneaked behind Blue and the others.
"What are you up to?" Haya jumped from behind, startling the three.
Blue gasped in surprise as Gold and Red jumped backward.
Haya smiled triumphantly at the trio.
"Who told you you were allowed to follow us?" Gold raised his voice.
"I think I allowed myself?" Haya smiled silly.
"Go back. Our work cannot be compromised with silly..." Gold paused as Haya started to pout, crossing her arms over her chest.
"We are trying to make a better world for our fellow travelers who have fallen from the sky." Red tried to be calm, smiling brightly at Haya.
"Wow, really? Tell me more!" Haya excitedly said to Red.
"Next time, maybe if you would take me to a travel?" Red smiled, not letting go of his find gaze on Haya.
Blue's eyes widened, and he felt a sting inside his chest while staring at Red. He was confused about what the feeling was after thinking Haya and Red were kissing to go on a travel.
Haya laughed. "Well, let's do that sometimes!"
"Go back, Haya! You are not needed here. Our time is being wasted!" Blue interrupted.
"Ok!" Haya bade her good-bye and tracked her way back to the village.
Blue sighed and rubbed his temple. He wanted to tell her about the feelings that Red's actions awakened in him but didn't quite know how to do so. After all, Red was a man who had always stayed true to himself. It bothered Blue how Red stared at Haya.
Days went on, and Red and Haya were really having a great time.
Red would join Haya with the children after work. Haya would even spend nights with Red, talking a lot about her travels with Blue.
"Blue, what are you doing here?" Red asked as he placed Haya on his bed, one night.
Blue did not respond; instead, he walked towards Haya and lifted her.
"Where are you taking her?" Red tried to stop Blue.
"I don't think she was getting a good sleep these past few days. We'd be traveling tomorrow, and I need her energized."
"Why? What is different about my tent from yours?"
"She needs a cuddle!" Blue answered shortly.
"Blue," Red stood and stayed behind.
"What?"
"Are you in love?"
Blue did not answer. He just left.
Red sighed heavily. He doubted that he was wrong about Blue's unusual gestures towards Haya.
There were a lot of things Red wanted to do with Haya. A lot. He knew what he wanted, though he couldn’t put his hand on it yet.
Red tried to get out of Haya's way all morning, trying to get all the work done while Blue was away.
He was so drawn in by all this work that he was not able to notice that it was already dark.
"Let's go back now. Blue might be back by now," Gold called on Red.
"Go on, I'll follow later." Red turned his back and went on his way to the woods.
He wasn't sure about going back. He was afraid that if he saw Blue, all his worries would be proven right.
Lost in his thoughts, Red was shocked to find himself by the lake.
"Why am I here?" Red gasped.
"I called for you," a mellow yet powerful voice resonated inside his head.
He tried to look around and was astounded to see blue, white, red, and gold swirling in midair around him.
"Come with me, Red!" The voice spoke louder; his head felt like exploding.
Red tried to focus his gaze with all the lights swirling around him and saw Haya.
"Ha..." Red was not able to speak when Haya cupped his face and sealed his lips in a kiss.
The two went on a Travel.
And after some moments, Haya opened her eyes slowly. She was surrounded by green grass, with lots of white clouds hovering above her. She stood up to get a clear view of the scenery.
Haya frowned and looked in the direction where she heard noises.
"Red," Haya whispered as she knelt back beside Red. "Wake up!"
Red finally woke up from his dream state. He opened his eyes slowly, then hissed in pain when all the lights were too intense.
"Hey, Red. Are you alright?" Haya asked.
"Yes...no!" Red gasped as he slowly recognized an unfamiliar place. "Where are we?" He sounded so afraid.
"Calm down. I brought you to the place where I grew up. Blue was taken, and I need you to help me take him back!" Haya sounded so despondent.
"What? But how? What happened?" Red still tried to comprehend everything that happened. He was bewildered.
Haya sighed heavily. "You will need to ask that question in the future because the answers will change everything."
Red gulped nervously, looking down, lost in his thoughts.
"Come on now, we have to find a place to rest and plan. The Orders are too much for a quick attack," Haya explained.
"Order?" Red gasped.
They made their way through a dense forest, with many twists and turns, until reaching the familiar clearing.
But on their way, Haya halted Red.
"What is it?" Red asked, worried.
"Listen carefully," Haya said, her tone serious.
After a long pause and hearing only birds and insects chirping, Haya continued forward and stopped in front of a huge tree.
Haya pointed in front of them. A huge stone house lay there, looking like an ancient ruin.
"It looks like..." Red couldn't believe it. "A tomb?"
"Yup," Haya said with a small smile.
Haya hurried towards the tomb and made an unusual knock.
A woman opened the door, and Haya's tears fell uncontrollably. She pressed her hand on her mouth, afraid of making too much noise.
"Avin!" Haya called lowly, her voice almost cracking.Download Novelah App
