Chapter 28

The moon above the clear sky was shining brightly in the night.
Trees and grasses swayed swiftly, and even the dry leaves on the forest floors rustled with every stroke of the wind—gently blowing throughout the forest.
No sign of distress could be felt except for one pitiful soul who had been staring helplessly at the lake with its sparkling still waters.
He was torn for hours while sitting under a tree while Haya rested on him.
“No, I can’t do this anymore.” Blue whined in distress as he shifted his anguished gaze to look at Haya, who was peacefully cuddling him.
“No. Sir, please! She’s tired. She used up all her strength to get us back here." Little Khira pleaded.
“I'll consider that if only I don’t know the truth. What’s with her and sleeping?“
“Can you consider it?” the little Khira pleaded once more.
It was such a silent night that even the slightest sound, like the defeated sigh of Blue, could echo around the vicinity.
“This is a beautiful dream.” Haya mumbled while smiling in her sleep.

“Well, it would be a nightmare if you would not get off me now.” Blue protested.
The smile on Haya's face slowly faded away. She twitched her eyes open slightly to check her situation, and when she realized the worst possible outcome if she would insist on sleeping, she immediately pulled her arms away from Blue.
“Oh no! I’m sorry!“ Haya smiled awkwardly.
“Hello Princess!” Khira smiled widely, waving her little hand slowly.
“Khira!” Haya turned quickly and grabbed Khira in a tight hug. “Are you fine?”
"Yes, I am.” Khira responded happily.
“Good.” Haya sighed in relief.
“So, will you get off me now?” Blue interrupted and sounded so frustrated.
It took a second before she realized she was still sitting on Blue's thigh. "Oh, I forgot! I’m getting off now, don’t worry.“
“Whatever! I'll do it myself. You seemed awake anyway.“ Blue shrugged Haya off and stood up immediately. “We should probably consider heading home.” Blue said this and started walking away.
Haya was astonished at how Blue got more insensitive over time. She picked herself up and sprung up from the ground, trying to convince herself that it was not a good time to go against Blue.
The three of them, Blue, Khira, and Haya, flitted through the forest. They panted and groaned as they ran and walked for what seemed like an eternal journey. No rest was considered to avoid an encounter.
And at last, a few more strides ahead, the smell of the burning dried leaves from the blurry blue and orange flares of torches sipped through their noses.
“We are here!” Khira squealed in excitement.
"Yes, we are here.” Blue smiled tiredly while changing glances from Khira to Haya.
“But you know what? It would have been faster and completely not tiring at all if someone here had considered my suggestion of..."
“Silence. The most important thing is that we’re here.“ Blue stopped Haya from talking.
“I’m going ahead.” Khira said this and ran excitedly.
“Mother!” Khira cried, beyond joy in her voice.
Khira hopped, leapt, and rejoiced when she excitedly roamed through the tents, looking for her mother to announce her return.
“Be careful, Khira!” Haya chased from behind, worried that the little girl might feel weak.
“I’ll ask someone to arrange a tent for you.” Blue shouted to Haya as he stopped by his tent.
“Thank you!” Haya yelled back without even looking.
“Great.” Blue smirked at the sight of Haya and Khira running around before stepping into his tent.
But that smirk immediately wore off from Blue's face; someone forcefully pulled him out of the tent and dragged him to the ground.
“Where’s that girl? You brought her here and killed that innocent child!” A gold-haired male strangled Blue, trembling in frustration and anger, on top of him.
“Gold! Calm down! What are you...?” Blue was interrupted by a scream in the distance.
Haya was screaming. She was surrounded by the people of the village, with torches and poorly designed weapons being shoved at her.
“Get off me!” Blue ordered
“No! She did something to you, didn’t she? You were gone for seven nights, and you expect us to calm down?“
Blue fell silent for a moment, realizing the reason why he felt so tired for the very first time in his existence.
“That was not a request. Get off now, or I’ll have to break you. That girl saved the poor child from death. So, don’t go speaking of words you’re not even sure of.“ Blue struggled back to get up before setting an immobilizing spell against Gold and strode fast to Haya.
“Blue! Step away!“ Haya called out to warn Blue. “Take Khira and go back to the woods. I’ll catch up to you! We might have slipped into a different time.“ Haya firmed up in any case of attack.
But Blue's eyes lit up with the darkest and deepest shade of blue that Haya had ever seen. And in one instance, all the lights from the torches the people were holding and everything surrounding the whole village flickered out.
It was all darkness, then a bluish force with tiny balls of lights swirling around surrounded Haya and Blue. It barely illuminated the whole village and when it touched the humans, they stopped moving like statues.
Haya gasped in awe as spectacular colors played in her eyes as time elapsed in a very slow manner.
“Ready to experience the beauty of my gift?” Blue smiled, walking slowly to Haya as enormous blue wings spread out his back.
“I knew it! I was not dreaming!“ Haya squealed as she approached Blue's swings and slowly touched their greatness to their tips. “But what’s happening?”
“You’ll know. For now, I want you to feel what it’s like to be a gift companion.“ Blue immediately swept Haya into his arms and indulged in a kiss.
The blue force surrounding them started moving in a circle faster.
Haya couldn't grasp the moment where various scenarios were moving backwards against the movement of the blue force. Then a scene where she and Khira first met caught her eye, and she then realized that time had been reset.
Blue released Haya from the kiss, and Haya fainted before even saying anything.
Blue slit a silly smile. “Now you know.” Blue smirked before picking up Haya.
The blue force surrounding the village vanished like a bubble popping from a slight touch of the wind.
The time moved back to its normal phase. The people went on their way as if nothing happened, and only the memories from the night before Haya and Khira went to the woods took place.
But this could only apply to the normal people of the village.
“Blue!” A red-haired male approached Blue.
“Red, let’s talk about everything later. I badly needed to rest.“
“Fine! Will you…”
“No! Prepare her own tent.“ Blue continued walking.
Blue took a glance beside him and released Gold from his spell.
Gold jolted up and dashed towards Blue. “I tried to follow you and dove straight down the lake, but you just disappeared after...”
“Enough Gold. I need to rest. But I have a lot to tell.“
“You better have, or I will execute this girl who made you rest for the very first time.”
Blue smirked before putting Haya down in the tent.
Gold and Red were stupefied. They were horrified at the thought of Blue smiling. It could mean the world ending for them.
The next morning, Blue woke up irritated. Every corner of his face was frowning as he felt Haya sweetly cuddle next to him, comfortably asleep.
“HAYA!”
