It's like everything is in slow motion. The sound of the machine gun nearby seemed distant and somehow not loud. Libby is looking at Mimi who is crying but she can't hear what she's saying. Dan pulled her back the stairways. Then ran back outside to get Mimi. She saw them both holding Martin whose blood seemed to be all over. 
"Libby!," Dan shouted. "Help us with Martin".
But Libby can't fathom what Dan was saying. She knew Dan is speaking to her but can't hear a word his saying. 
Mimi shook her. "Snap out of it please."
Slowly she can hear what they're saying. 
"I know you're in shock Libby but we gotta help Martin," Mimi said while crying.
Libby shook her head. She's not supposed to be this way. She needs to be ok now to help her friends. She made deep breaths closed her eyes count to ten. When she opened her eyes she's more calmed. She can now hear Mimi and Dan talking, planning while all of them rushing downstairs. 
"I locked the door but we're not sure if it can hold on the force of the machine gun," said Dan.
"We have to hurry," Libby said while helping Mimi and Dan carry Martin. "He's losing a lot of blood. Let's take him 2 floors down. Do either of you have your phone?"
"I think I left mine at the suite," Mimi said.
"Here," Dan said while giving his phone to Libby.
"I hope there's signal here," Libby said while looking around. They decided to hide three floors down. Glad that the doors were open. They entered a room and lock the doors behind them. She saw through the windows that there's still police outside the building. She can also see media vans outside. "So many people outside."
"Martin," Mimi said while silently crying. They laid Martin on the bed and pressed towels on his wound to kept it from bleeding. "We have to bring him to a doctor."
"Detective?" Libby's by the window while talking on the phone. She was able to contact Detective Zapanta. " We're at the third floor, room 306. Send help. Martin was shot. Coach saw us earlier and fired at us. Martin.. " Libby said looked at Martin silently crying. "pushed me aside so I won't get shot but unfortunately he was. Please send help immediately. We are afraid to go outside. We don't know if Coach followed us." Libby listened to instructions while nodding. "Okay, we'll stay put here. We already blocked the doors. We won't open it up unless you gave us the signal. Okay Detective, please hurry."
"What did he say?," asked Dan who just finished blocking the doors and looking for things to help them fight off. He was holding a lamp on one hand and a fireplace poker. 
"They'll rescue us here," answered Libby while looking around. "He said to not open the door unless we hear a signal which is knocking six times. They will bring a first aid kit for Martin's wounds and will bring him to the hospital in front after."
"Thank God," Mimi said. "Martin did you hear? Help is coming." 
Libby and Dan looked around and picked additional items that they can use for defense and wait near the door for Detective Zapanta's signal for them. Mimi stayed at Martin's side pressing down on his wound to keep pressure on the wound to avoid blood loss. She looked worried because Martin's slowly loosing consciousness. Libby sensed Mimi's worries. 
"They're almost here Mimi," she said. "Be strong. Martin needs us." She looked at Dan.
"Yeah Mimi," Dan said. "We'll get out of here in no time.
Then they heard it. Commotion outside. Guns shooting everywhere. Loud voices. They hid under the bed. Libby and Dan helped Mimi to carry Martin. They waited until everything is quiet. Then they heard it. The signal at the door. 
"Guys, it's safe now," it's Detective Zapanta's voice.
Dan hurriedly but cautiously went to the door. He used the peephole first. After confirming it's the detective, he opened the door.
"It's over guys," Detective Zapanta said while scanning the room.
"Thank God," Libby exclaimed then hurriedly helped Mimi carry Martin.
The Detective called in the medic who brought along first aid kits and a stretcher. They applied the initial treatment for Martin's wounds.
"We still have to bring him to a hospital. He still needs surgery," the medic said. Then they put Martin to a stretcher and hurriedly went outside. Mimi looked at Libby.
"Go, we'll follow at the hospital," Libby said.
Mimi nodded then followed the medic team.
"Detective, has someone informed our parents upstairs?" asked Dan.
" Yes, my men went there. Let's all go to the lobby first," answered Detective Zapanta.
They went out of the room. While walking towards the elevator they saw Coach Smith's body. It's surrounded by police.
"We'll take his body to the morgue. His mom will meet us there," said Detective Zapanta when he saw them looking at the body. "The situation could've gone worse. Thankfully we're all trained in this kind of situation. Too bad he saw you guys."
"How about Miss Jimenez?" Libby silently asked. And remembered the horror she felt when she saw Coach Smith at the elevator holding Miss Jimenez' body.
"Know what, she's alive," the Detective said. "They already brought her to the hospital. Coach Smith left her at the lobby earlier. That's why he was able to run around the hotel. She's strong. Imagine she was dragged from the parking lot to the elevator. And before she passed out she said that Coach Smith tortured him at the house to get info from her."
When they reached the lobby they saw that many people are already there - their parents, friends that was left earlier at the penthouse, their school dean, other detectives, reporters who was waiting outside of the hotel earlier during Coach Smith's takeover. 
"Libby! Dan!" they saw Kate (Dan's girlfriend) running towards them. She hugged Dan first then went to Libby. "It's so good to see you're both okay." She was breathless from running. She looked around. "Where's Mimi and Martin?" She asked. And about this time Detective Zapanta approached Martin's parents. They heard Martin's mom screamed. They rushed to their side.
"He was rushed immediately to the hospital," the Detective was speaking quickly to avoid panic. "I was just informed that he's currently in surgery to remove the bullet in his shoulder." He looked at Libby somewhat asking for help.
"Mimi is with him," Libby said. "Mimi took care of him while we were in the room so Martin wouldn't lose too much blood." 
"Let's go to the hospital," Martin's dad calmly said. 
"We'll follow there," Dan said. "Detective Zapanta wants our statements first." He saw his parents and explained the situation.
AT THE HOSPITAL 
Libby saw everyone at the waiting room. Everyone seems anxious. Just then the door to the operating room opened and the surgeon who operated on Martin came out and walked towards Martin's parents. Libby saw them cried. Tears suddenly fell through her eyes. She looked at Dan who stopped walking. 
"Martin.." he whispered.
