"I'm here to tell you that I know where my son is," Mrs. Smith said. "And I'll only tell you if you will promise me that he will be arrested peacefully," she added crying. "Please." Detective Zapanta approached Mrs. Smith and led her to a chair to sit down. "We'll do everything we can to do it peacefully Mrs. Smith. Please tell us where he is. We know that he now have Miss Jimenez and her mom." Mrs. Smith nodded. "I cannot take what's happening anymore. I know that my son and husband are both sick in the mind. But they're in medication and they've been in control of their minds until last year. We've been hit financially and this cause panic and depression to both of them. I watched them both lose it," she tell them while sobbing uncontrollably. Dan's mom approached with a glass of water. "Here, take this, calm yourself first. So we can help you better." She looked around. "Let's give her some space guys." Everyone moved around so Mrs. Smith won't feel suffocated. "Thank you," she told Dan's mom. She put the glass of water in the table beside her. She took deep breaths and continue with her story. "My husband went crazy yesterday. As in crazy crazy. He began talking nonsense. I think it's because he's out of medication for a week already. Since we're in hiding we can't purchase his usual meds. I left him this morning in our room. I locked the door on my way out so he wouldn't wander around. He's confused and crazed as it is, and I'm afraid he'll be crazier once he sees what his son - our son is doing." She bursts in tears again. "What is your son doing Mrs. Smith?" Libby asked quietly. She has this dreading feeling that's something bad has happened. "He's digging.. in our backyard.." Mrs. Smith burst again crying so hard. "He said he will bury Miss Jimenez and her mom there.. Then..," her voice trailed off as she looks in Libby's direction. "He said he will hunt your group!" She wailed. "I'm sorry!" Then she cried again. Libby froze. She could feel the desperation and anxiety in Mrs. Smith's voice. She also felt fear. Fear for her friends. She looked around. She knew from her friends stance that they are also afraid. But she can't let this happen. She had to be strong. She had to end this case. Before she could asked again, Detective Zapanta cut her off. "Mrs. Smith.. can you tell us the exact location of your son and husband? We promise we'll try to solve this as peacefully and quietly as possible," the Detective said. "You promise?," Mrs. Smith asked Detective Zapanta tearfully. Detective Zapanta nodded. In his mind, he really want to end all of this peacefully. "It's my cousin's house at 2365 San Vicente Rd, San Andres, Batangas." "Thank you Mrs. Smith," Detective Zapanta told her. He stood up and gathered his men on the other room. "We have a very delicate situation. We need to call back up from San Andres and tell them Coach Smith's state of mind. We want this to end as peacefully as possible." He looked at Libby's group. "Guys, I know you want to be there. And I'm sure that even if I tell you that's it's dangerous and you're forbidden to go there, I know that you'll probably make a way to see the situation there. So, how about this? If your parents agrees choose just two person and a guardian and we'll bring you along. But, you have to stay at a safe zone and will follow my instructions. Clear?" They all nodded and held a quick meeting to decide who will go. "I suggest aside from Libby, Dan needs to go," Mimi talked hurriedly. She caught Libby's and Dan's eyes and both nodded. "I agree," says Martin. "Since you two are part of this from the start. And maybe Coach Smith will respond to you two." The group agreed hurriedly. They looked at their parents looking worried. "Don't worry Mom, we promise to stay out of their way in order for them to do this operation smoothly. We will clear out of danger," Libby assuring her mother. Her mom hugged her and kissed her forehead. Just then, a civilian detective came rushing. "What's happening?" asked Martin's parents. The police, security personnel and detectives in the room stood alert. "Your suspect is currently in the parking lot dragging a body of an unconscious woman," the detective reported to Detective Zapanta. They all rushed outside. "Libby," Dan held Libby's hand. "Mimi!"he called Mimi too. Mimi turned her head and pointed at Martin. "I'll go with him," she said. "Okay, be careful," Dan told Mimi. Everyone at the elavator seemed tense. The detectives headed by Detective Zapanta hurriedly wore their bulletproof vests and checked their weapons. He turned to Libby. "You guys stay at the back. Be attentive. Be careful. We don't know what will happen and we don't have enough time to plan." Then he looked around and said loudly. "All of our trainings from the academy to our previous missions will be applied here. I need you guys to be alert, decide quickly and move fast. As long as possible, let's avoid things to become worse. If we can de-escalate the situation, let's do it. But if we can't.. and we have no other choice, you know what to do." As soon as the elevator door opened, chaos happened.. gunshots can be heard outside. Coach Smith was outside waiting for anyone. He didn't care who he's shooting. Libby had one looked at him and chills ran through her spine. What she saw isn't Coach Smith anymore. His eyes blank, a creepy smile on his lips. One hand was holding an M16 firing towards everyone. One hand clutched the hand of a body who seemed lifeless already and she assumed to be Miss Jimenez. They ducked. Two officers were shot but thankfully they brought a shield which they used to cover and they hurriedly closed the elevator door. Everyone was quiet and in shock no one's talking. Then Detective Zapanta said loudly - "Be alert. Hide, cover. Kids, go to a safe place. We're moving up five floors from the lobby. Find a safe location to hide. We'll canvass the area immediately. We need to find an exit." Libby hold Dan's hand. Dan looked at her, silently reassuring her that everything will be okay. The elevator stopped. They're already at the 5th floor. As soon as the door opened everyone hurriedly came out and looked for a safe hiding place. AT THE SUITE "What's that?" Libby's mom asked fearfully as they were hiding in the panic room of their suite as advised by Detective Zapanta. She scanned the room. Martin's parents, all of the other kids from Libby's gang except Dan (who is with Libby), Martin and Mimi are there, two detectives whom Detective Zapanta assigned to them, Headmaster and two school security officers whom was assigned to their group. "Gunshots!" Martin's mom screamed. "Keep calm everyone," Libby's dad said in a loud voice. "We are in the safest room this hotel have. The police force knows what they're doing. We just need to wait out the situation calmly." "But Libby, Dan, Martin, Mimi.. they are out there," Libby's mom started crying. "Shh.. shh.." Libby's dad is trying to calm his wife although deep inside he's also afraid for his daughter Libby and her friends. "The kids are tough, smart, attentive and all that. Don't worry too much okay?" "C'mon kids, let's stay here at the back, there's chairs and bean bags. This situation might take a while," Martin's dad said while ushering the kids to sit at the back. "You've seen Martin and Mimi went with the group earlier?" Martin's mom asked Libby's mom. Libby's mom think for a while before answering. "Actually, I didn't. But it was so sudden. Everything happened in a flash so maybe I overlooked." She said while holding her hand to comfort. "You're worried too right?" Martin's mom sighed. "Yes. But I don't want the other kids to see and feel. I don't want to add to anybody's fear right now." "You're right," Libby's mom whispered. "I know our kids will be okay in the end". MARTIN AND MIMI As soon as the commotion started they were pushed outside the room towards the fire exit. When they heard the gunshots coming from the lobby they were frozen. Mimi looked at Martin trying to stay calm. She hold his hand and realized they are both shaking in fear. "We will be fine right?" She tearfully asked Martin. Martin realizing they only have each other at that moment snapped out of his fear. "We'll try to hide and be safe okay?" She answered Mimi quietly. "The commotions downstairs so that will give us more than enough time to find a safe place." Just then they heard a door from downstairs opened and saw Libby and Dan running. "Dan!" He shouted. "What's happening?" Libby saw them. "Coach Smith turned crazy. He's shooting everyone." She answered Martin while running upstairs. "Why are you outside?" Dan asked loudly. Mimi and Martin are running downstairs to meet them. "We were pushed outside. Haven't had the chance to go back to the suite because we heard the gunshots and decided to hide here." "Just wait there," Dan said. "Let's go back to the suite. It has a panic room". Mimi and Martin slowly went upstairs and wait for Dan and Libby. They hugged each other. "Detective Zapanta is currently coordinating with nearby police forces to send out their men here. More are coming. This will stop now," Libby told Mimi and Martin. "C'mon guys let's wait it out at the panic room. My parents are probably looking for me," Martin said. "Don't worry Mimi we'll be safe." He held Mimi's hand and ushered her to the door. Bang! Bang! Bang! Martin fell.
