Chapter 19 was it something?
Nurin POV
Grand Bazaar
From inside the Turkish coffee shop I had to go out from the other entrance exit because there is someone outside the main entrance who was corner by the customers of this café; I think he is a popular individual. I don’t want to tag around there. I mean, why do people get crazy over a celebrity, they are like human beings, they just excel in their chosen careers. I haven’t done exploring the place, but I think outside this Grand Bazaar there are still many souvenir shops. I wanted to see and buy some of the Turkish Black tea, I was told that the best black tea can be found in this place, there are many stalls here who sell black tea so you have many choices just like the coffees here. From where I standing, I could smell the tea, I followed the scents; took step by step to reach it. There is still some beautiful stuff around this place, there is the blue evil eye. This may sound superstitious but in today’s generation, it is more than that. Even celebrities in Hollywood even use this as a piece of jewelry. Muslims don’t believe in some superstitious traits but some parts of Middle East culture used this as fashion and clothing. Some use this as a part of their decoration in their furniture or serve as shades. Turkey is surrounded by multi-cultural practices since it is a friendly and open country. This item is covered with vivid blue colors often available in different sizes and textures depending on your preference. You can find it in form of refrigerator magnets, key chains, necklaces, and the favorites, pieces of jewelry. It’s popular because it symbolizes protection and keeping the bad and evil away from you. I finally find the perfect spot for my tea experience, there are many tea shops here but I don’t know which one has the better to offer. I don’t know where to start, from the left to right or vice versa; from front to back or vice versa. It's really hard which one to decide; deliberately confusing to start. I saw this first tea shop in front of me, it’s quite fascinating because the one standing right outside their stall is a Turkish man painted with a friendly smile, so who wouldn’t be captivated by it? I walk towards him. As I came closer to him, he offered me this disposable tea cup. I took it smiled back at him and I took a zip on it. Yes, the taste is so magical, strong but sweet. I am giving him sign language that the tea tastes good, and that I will just come back because I will have a look at the other tea shops. They are friendly and understanding so I am confident they will not hold this back against me. I wasn’t watching my steps back, I am taking a walk backward while being amused by the architecture of this grand bazaar, I continue taking the zip-by-zip of the tea. I took my last zip before I could make a final turn on going to the next tea shop. Same as goes to the 1st tea shop, a friendly smile is calling me from there when I accidently bump into a guy and the tea that was on his hand spill both on his shirt and mine. This is big trouble. I keep on bowing my head to show him that I am sorry, “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. It’s all my fall. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. I wasn’t looking on my way.” I was cleaning up my clothes with my scarf and got shocked because he was ha handing me a familiar handkerchief. I was about to take the handkerchief when our hands' touched, we stared into each other’s eyes silently. Ayaz POV Grand Bazaar I figured it out to myself that I shouldn’t rush myself on trying my best to meet her but I just hope that we are in the same place and same time. I wanted to follow the aroma of this Turkish black tea, this place has the best black tea to offer, they have many tea shops around here and every shop has its interior designs but with the same touch of ancient and modern turkey life; and from where I am standing I saw this tea shop in front of me, I am just hoping that they will not be able to recognize me, it’s not I am not gonna put effort on meeting my fans or the crowd but because I also wanted to have a moment with myself as a normal individual. The girl standing at the stall entrance of the shop was showing me signs that she is offering me the tea that she is holding. I went next to her, took the disposable tea cup, and walk away nicely; I was nodding at her to show her that I am grateful for it but I still have to walk. This place hasn’t changed a bit, still one of the tourist destinations here in Istanbul. Seeing this crowd makes me convince myself that 250,000 to 400,000 visit this place; and most of them are a tourist. This is where you can find different souvenir items. You can find here this Turkish Black Tea we called it SIiyah Cay, our exotic hot beverage that has been part of our Turkish traits, and offering it to others means we are being hospitable. We have here the Turkish Delight or Lokum, this is the delicacies that we could offer it is made with sugar and its texture are gummy and chewy adapted from Europe and Greece traits. We also have here the Blue Evil Eye or Nazar Boncugo which is very popular abroad, these serve as a protection from evil. If you love to cook, you can find here s Turkish spice, which is freshly done and the herbs here are good for export too. My favorite, is Turkish coffee or Turk Kahve, and this now trending around the world basically, our country is well known for it, you could just walk around the city and you’ll find one along the road. Turkey has their unique Turkish Instruments because traditional Turkish music has a very rich history and because of the influence of the neighboring country such as Iran, Greece, and Armenia, if you had watched the Ertugral then you would see, their love of music but they are fewer shops here in Grand Bazaar. Ceramic wares or Iznik are also popular here, this is where they show their artistic skills. If you are a coffee lover, then you should buy this Turkish Coffee Pot or Cezve so that you could make your blend of Turkish coffee. Aside from the Blue-evil eye, you can found that handmade crafts that turn them into jewelry like necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings. It’s part of the culture of Turkish to show or offer a bath essential especially their handmade olive soap which is eco-friendly and a handmade loofa. Make sure not to take away the one that is in your hotel room, because here in Grand Bazaar it has a better product, As I was about to go to the next tea shop, someone from my back accidently bumped me, and the tea that I was holding spilled on my shirt on her clothes; I am sorry for it. She keeps on telling me she is so sorry; I pull off the handkerchief that was in my pocket and handed it to her so that she won’t use her scarf to clean her clothes, as I handed it to her we both touched hands and look at each other’s eyes. My brain is about to explode just to shout from the inside, “Now, this is fate.” I smiled at her and I think everything around us stops. I keep on chasing after her but fate came our way. I think she was a little bit confusing and shocking. She is shocked maybe she has many questions in her mind about how I got her belongings. I am ready for this but even a single word of mine can even come out of my mind. Call me chicken but this is who I think I am. I haven’t been speechless in front of a girl.Download Novelah App
