At about past eight in the morning, Edison dropped me off infront of my house after planting a deep kiss on my lips, which I couldn't resist, but asked for more. He was heading to the office that morning, so we didn't have so much time to spend together. Though, he promised to make it out for me.
I couldn't ask for too much, after all he has promised to take me on a trip to Dubai. That, was the best thing I could ever really wish for. He was showing a whole lot of care and concern that I have never seen from any man that I have come across. It was so sweet and the more I thought about him, the more smiles I have on my lips.
"So darling, when will I meet you again? Seems your business will keep us apart for the meantime."
"Yes my love. That is the reason why I made sure I took you to a special place yesterday. Just to cover up for what I owe you. I believe you enjoyed it my love?
"Of course I did. I enjoyed every bit of it." I answered sweetly and giggled as I leaned forward and placed my right hand on the window infront.
"I am glad you do. Don't worry, if I can't see you this week, I will send something to you okay?
"No Sweetheart. You always send me something weekly, there is no need sending extra. The one you send is just more than enough for me, so I can't ask for too much."
"Wow. Juwie. You, you are just different from the girls I meet out there. Lots of them are never content with whatever they get. They always ask for more and are never grateful."
"Well, I guess they will be content when they meet someone like you. I mean, who will dare say no to a sweet handsome guy as you."
"Hahahaha. Juwie love. I will take that as a compliment alright."
"Yeah. Don't forget to call me when you are less busy please, or send a message to me atleast" I said sulkily.
"Okay my love. I will. Please, do take care of yourself for me, okay?
"Yes I will Sweetheart."
He blew me a kiss which I caught on air and placed it on my lips, smiling sheepishly. Then, he started his car and drove off. I smiled and waved at him till he went out of sight.
Then, I walked back into the house. I knocked on the door and waited for my roommate, Clarinet, to open the door for me. The next few seconds, she was at the door and she unlocked it. She pushed it open, while I went it.
"Oh my! My room mate is back finally, after being stolen away from me throughout yesterday. Come on in, come on in. We have a lot to discuss baby girl."
"Oh Clarinet. I don't have the strength to discuss anything with you. That's my love life and I think it should be left private and just for me right?
"You know that won't work right? Wait, let me help you carry your bag, okay." She said, taking my handbag from me, which I gladly let her take with all pleasure.
I got inside the sitting room and sat down. Clarinet took the bag into the room and came out again with my phone and handed it over to me.
"So tell me, how was the outing yesterday, where did you guys go to?
"Wait, you didn't see my post on Instagram?
"Oh no, wrong question, well I did. You see, I'm just excited that is why I asked that question. Uhm, what will I ask now, what will I ask."
I just laughed at her. "You seriously want to gossip today right? Huh?
"Come on, this isn't gossip alright. I'm just inquisitive. Tell me, if I was the one who went out on a dinner date with a rich and caring care as uhm, uhm..."
"Edison" I reminded her.
"Edison, yeah. How would I forget his name. So, if it was me, won't you be curious to know? Stop making it look like I am too curious, it's just a normal thing and please, don't tell me that you are tired, because I won't buy that, alright."
"Okay okay. You win. Well, uhm. It was really really sweet and romantic, you know. I enjoyed every bit of it. I never thought I could ever find myself in that kind of a place, it was like a dream come true."
"Oh my darling. I am so happy, very happy for you. Look at the smiles on your face. You really love this guy, don't you?
"Well, yeah, I do. I really do. I love him so much. I have never felt so comfortable with a guy as I am to Edison. I could tell him everything, and still not feel like I'm selling myself out. I don't know how he does it, but I just like the feeling."
"Wow, this is sweet. So, tell me. Did you guys do anything last night? You know that kind of stuff a guy and a lady do when they are alone? She asked, smiling mischievously and smirking her lips loudly.
"We didn't, you are so dirty in mind, nonsense."
"See who is talking? Huh? You that is the Queen of the bad girls. Why are you suddenly acting like you are a saint or even close to that at all."
"I guess Edison, my love and Sweetheart has turned me to a saint, suddenly." I answered, smiling and daydreaming at the same time.
"Wow, what love can do. I just wish Carson will travel back now, I'm beginning to miss him a lot."
"Hahahaha. Stop that. Don't you want him to make a lot of money for both of you?
"Of course I do. That money is very important in this relationship."
"So, stop missing him too much."
"Oh, whatever. So, tell me, you mean you didn't do anything together last night?
"No we didn't. I guess he wants us to take things very slowly I guess and I'm cool with it."
"Oh my gosh! That guy is really something else. Oh wow, I'm becoming jealous, damn!
"Hey, don't just start already. I know where this particular thing is leading to and to be frank girl, I am not ready for that, so please, cut it off. By the way, aren't you supposed to be at work?
I asked, trying to change the topic.
"Yeah, my work place opens by 10 am, and this is just..." She checked the wall clock. "This is just past 8, so I still have a lot of time." She defended.
"A lot of time to gossip right? Funny. I don't have that kind of time. I need to sleep.
I stood up and went to the room leaving her there and all to herself. She murmured from behind me, but I didn't care about that.
