Chapter 26. At Reyhan's Place

After yesterday's incident, Salsa has started to recover and returned to work as a waitress at a café managed by Reyhan. Even though she didn't like the man, Salsa couldn't help but have to see him often because she was in the same place.
After class ended, Salsa immediately rushed to work and immediately changed her clothes. Then he also wore a dark brown apron with the cafe's name logo to keep his clothes from getting dirty. Salsa is a hard working woman. Even though he comes from a wealthy family, it doesn't dampen his enthusiasm to make money with his own efforts. He always smiled friendly to every customer who came and served them wholeheartedly.
It was two in the morning. The city air really feels very hot. Many visitors ordered coffee latte ice. Salsa and the other workers were busy. Sweat began to trickle down Salsa's forehead even though the café had air conditioning. Because she was tired and her focus was starting to decrease, Salsa accidentally bumped the table and made the drink that was on it spill.
"Good grief!" exclaimed the friend who was next to Salsa. He was just as surprised as the Salsa.
"You're okay, right?" asked Mira. He noticed Salsa's face that looked pale.
"You just recovered, Sa. Just rest in the back." Mira advised Salsa to rest in the back room used by the employees. However, Salsa refused and insisted to keep working.
"I'm fine, okay? You don't have to worry about me like that, Mir." Salsa tried to convince Mira that she was okay.
"Besides, if I rest, who will help you in front of who?" Salsa asked Mira. What he meant at the front was in the service department. "This is a lot of fun," he continued.
Mira looked back for a moment. There were already many drinks lined up that had not yet been delivered. Then Mira's eyes turned to the customer's table and chairs. They seemed to be waiting impatiently for their orders and looked back at Salsa.
"Are you really okay if you continue to work?" This time Mira asked with a deeper tone, between sure and not because Salsa's face was far from the word "fine".
Salsa nodded firmly in response.
"I'm obviously fine sa—" Salsa didn't even finish her sentence, suddenly Reyhan appeared from behind them wearing a plain white T-shirt and black jeans, making them silent for a split second.
"You don't have to worry about a kid like him, Mir. Yesterday he fainted was just pretending," said Reyhan. Deliberately making things hotter.
Mira, who didn't know what Reyhan's words meant, looked at the young man in confusion.
"Pretend? It means?" asked Mira who this time looked at Salsa and Reyhan in turn.
"Yeah, it was just a pretense so he could avoid being punished by his lecturer. Tch, cheap tricks," Reyhan replied, making fun of Salsa even more. Salsa, who was annoyed that she had become an easy target for Reyhan, now stood up. Ready to hit the tray he was holding against Reyhan's shoulder, but failed. They were startled by one of the customers screaming.
"Where's my order?! It's been almost an hour and no one has arrived yet!” he snapped. He is a man in his fifties. His thick mustache made his face look even scarier.
“Where is the owner of this cafe? I want to scold him. How could he allow his men to chat here instead of working!”
Reyhan, who was two steps in front of the father, became embarrassed. He answered in a very small voice. His hands were busy scratching his head that didn't itch.
“I-I, sir, are in charge of this café.”
The man in his fifties who knew the owner of the cafe was in front of him grew angry.
"Owalah, no wonder the workers are lazy. Even those who have it are cool to talk here!”
The three of them looked at each other. Reyhan was getting flustered. He repeatedly apologized to the father, but unfortunately what he got was a relentless scolding. They, including Reyhan, could only look down and apologize.
After the father probably felt tired from constantly nagging, he finally decided to stop and return to his desk. He canceled the order and dragged his wife's hand while continuing to be angry and left the café.
Salsa who saw Reyhan's face was very pale felt sorry. However, his mind cheered with joy because in a short time his boss had gotten karma because he had made fun of Salsa.
"Why are you smiling like that?" asked Reyhan who caught Salsa and Mira holding back a laugh. Those who were asked immediately acted as if nothing had happened. They both cleared their throats and nodded in unison.
"No. Why are we? Right, Mir?" Salsa turned to Mira asking for a defense. Mira nodded while holding her mouth with her palm, holding back a laugh.
"You want to laugh at me, right? Just admit it!" said Reyhan getting annoyed. "Especially you, Salsa. Would you be happy if I got unlucky like that?" Reyhan glared at Salsa.
Salsa, who couldn't lie any longer, replied, "Yes, why is that? You also mocked me earlier. Well, next time, if you don't want people to harm you, don't be mean to people!"
Reyhan's face turned red after hearing Salsa's words just now. He turned his gaze the other way and told Salsa and Mira to get back to work.
"If something like this happens again, I will punish you both! It's there to serve buyers!" banish Reyhan.
He finally returned to his room. Meanwhile Mira and Salsa were busy delivering orders that had piled up.
***
It was dark. Salsa and all her fellow workers are getting ready to leave. Salsa, who only works part-time with a decent salary, feels grateful. He often feels valuable because he can make money with his own efforts. Tomorrow is payday for Salsa and her friends. He intends to buy Kania, his mother something.
Salsa waits for the bus in front of the cafe. While all his friends had gone home. Earlier, Mira had offered to take her home, but because Mira's house and Salsa's house were a bit far away, Salsa finally refused Mira's good intentions. Unfortunately, even though he had waited for almost an hour, the bus he usually took did not come. The salsa there was a little goosebumps because there was no one around the cafe. The lights have also been turned off. Plus the breeze that kept blowing and made his body shiver.
Salsa felt her body slightly feverish. Maybe it's because since this afternoon he's been pushing himself too hard to keep working without taking a break. He looked in the direction the bus was coming from, hoping it would come soon and take him home.
Elsewhere, not far from Salsa, Reyhan was preparing to heat up his motorbike. He saw one person in front there was waiting for something. Reyhan clearly knew who it was. Slowly he approached the girl.
"Not home yet?" Reyhan asked reflexively making Salsa surprised.
The man deliberately did not start the engine and led him to where Salsa was standing.
