Chapter 54

A week later
It's already been a week since Ranvjiay was in Italy. Randhir went back to look after the business and Takht. Ranvijay waited for Myra. Every time he asked Myra to leave with him, he was awarded with a clean rejection. Today only Myra has decided to meet him once before he leaves for India. In this past one week he didn't leave any single chance to make her understand how badly he wants her. The more he was pursuing the more she was becoming rigid. His dream of enjoying his wife's birthplace with his wife found its way back in a dark alley. There was a time when Myra used to show him her the pictures of her house and college and many more. Every time they were discussing going for a trip it was always Ranvijay's idea to come over here in Sicily. Never in his dream had he thought to come back to Sicily alone. He never thought that his wife would be taken away and he would be returning empty handed. It's really not easy always to accept the ongoing circumstances. For one last time he requested Myra to meet him. Every time Myra rejected him to keep him safe, to hide her equation with Ranvijay. She knew it very clear that Xavier was just waiting for a particular time to go for a massive rampage. But that day she couldn’t deny the meeting request anymore when he said he would be leaving. She wanted to see him for one last time.
Tucking too pistols behind her jeans Myra took out her black Mercedes to reach the destination to meet Ranvijay. She wore a black skinny jeans with a black bodycon suit. With a leather jacket on she moved out of the house without letting someone know. Arthur was not fully aware of such facts. Myra took only one single guard mentioning that she would be around the city. If she would have told Arthur about meeting Ranvijay he wouldn't mind keeping her locked inside the mansion.
Ranvijay wore a black T-shirt and black jeans. With a black hoodie he kept his face covered as per Myra's suggestion. Though he didn't bother about Xavier, he was not in a mood to start an argument with his pretty little wife. It was better for both of them to hide their identity while meeting over a coffee. Yes, coffee. That's all Ranvijay could offer. She was never ready to meet over anything else. A small coffee was all that they had agreed upon.
Ranvijay sat on a table facing the road and waited eagerly for Myra to show up. Ordering a coffee as he was taking small sips, a sweet voice ringed near his ears.
"Il posto è occupato?"
(Is the seat taken?)
Damn, the voice. He could never forget the Italian accent of her tongue. His face raised up to look at the owner. He understood nothing of what she had just said but his eyes depicted everything to her. Fixing her big hat she pulled the chair to sit in front of her man.
"Still using Italian around me?" Ranvijay spoke to taunt her a bit.
"Mother tongue, right? Can't help it." Myra smirked.
Ranvijay ordered another coffee for her and looked through her eyes. Surely it is deep enough to drown anyone in it.
"What do you want Jay?" Her words found its way to reach his heart to stab him.
"You." His determined voice spoke.
"Not possible. Please..."
Before Myra could reach for her final verdict Ranvijay placed his hand on her white rough knuckles. She couldn't tell him how badly she had missed his touches, his kisses, his gazes. But all the time her restraints kept her away.
"Don't you feel you are doing injustice to yourself? Or to me?"
"Don't you feel in this romance story we are just putting our loved one's life at stake being equally selfish?"
One word, thousands of emotions. Their breath hitched together to meet their solace. Their fingers intertwined together to feel each other's warmth. The surroundings seemed to stop for an eternity. The coffee table seemed the only obstacles in between them to keep them away from breaking down in each other's embrace. As their eyes remained glued a sudden vision took Myra's notice.
A small laser red dot on Ranvijay's left chest. She gulped down a big amount of her saliva. Without wasting a single time her eyes turned red and she hissed silently.
"Don't move. No matter what."
Ranvijay trailed down his gaze to meet her and found the red dot on his chest. He had become a target of a sniper.
"Fuck." The only word came out of his mouth.
"Do you trust me?" Myra whispered.
A flashback came in front of Ranvijay's eyes. Years back when she said the same word she ended up banging his expensive car and killing a man. But today what she would do even if he didn't have any idea. After all, she was trained enough and already claimed herself as a mafia.
"Sip your coffee." Myra instructed him to leave his hands.
The moment Ranvijay held his cup to sip his coffee Myra kicked on Ranvijay's leg under the table making the cup tremble and thus the coffee split on his T-shirt. As Ranvjiay naturally took the tissue paper to clean it while frowning at Myra, she took that chance.
Pulling Ranvijay's head on the table she bent down her head also.
"Shot" Not so loud but enough to make people panic stricken. Blood started coming out from the body.
The man sitting on the same line behind Ranvijay on a different table got shot on his chest where the heart lies. Yes, the heart.
Pulling Ranvijay's hand, Myra ran towards her car and found his guard there. Shoving him inside the car she decided to drive. Ranvijay prayed silently for that expensive car. He knew that if Myra was in her mood the car would suffer. As they speeded up their car two more cars started following them.
"Richiamati"
(Call our back up) one single word and the guard at the back seat started his job. He took out a big gun but waited for Myra's order. Myra was not interested in opening the fire as the road was crowded with public. Killing innocents was never her choice. Chased by the cars she drove harshly and connected her call to Arthur. Yes. The only one whom she could call. If it was a trick to divert their attention then before another attack broke in her house she needed to alert Arthur.
As Arthur picked up the call Myra spoke only one word.
"Proteggi la villa"
(Secure the mansion)
Arthur immediately understood something really bad had happened. He never allowed Myra to roam around alone. But today she had left with one guard only and that hit him badly.
"Sei andato a incontrare Ranvijay?"
(Did you go to meet Ranvjiay?"
"Si" (Yes)
One simple conversation and Arthur understood everything clearly.
Myra already shared her location details. Arthur called his men to increase the security of the mansion. With the rest of his men he moved out of the house by cursing only.
"You piece of shit, Ranvijay. Every time you come near her, she faces problems. Every time someone from your land arrives, we lose our loved ones."
Myra drove like a crazy through pavement, alleys and many more. Sicily and its alleys were printed in her mind like Google maps.
Finally the car came to a deserted area. No way could she make it to her secured place. Reaching a dead end Myra pulled the brake harshly and looked behind. Two cars stood there. Two more arrived from the other side also. The guard at the back seat asked to open the fire but Myra stood still and waited for some time.
A blue dot appeared on the screen of the device kept in the car. She looked at the screen and smiled. Another blue dot appeared. After a few seconds the increasing number of blue dots was enough to bring a full smile on her face.
"Welcome to hell." Her soft voice reached everyone's ears present inside the car.
Before anyone could predict anything, gunshots started echoing through the areas and those four cars started moving abruptly. Those blue dots were Arthur's men and they cornered those enemy's cars and showered bullets on them. Seeing that as a chance Myra took an abrupt turn and headed towards a different direction.
"I am dropping you at the airport. Stay inside and fly back." Her cold voice was enough to tell her determination.
"No Myra, I am not going to leave you here."
"It's not India. It's fucking my place Italy."
"Myra...” Ranvijay growled.
"Jay. Enough."
A perfect husband wife conversation they never had. The guard at the back side thought to jump out of the car to avoid their war of cold gazes.
"Where did you stay? You need to get your documents. Got your private jet right?"
"Yes. My jet is ready but I left my guards in the hotel where I was staying."
"Do they have weapons?"
"Yes."
"Fine."
She calculated everything immediately in her mind. Reaching the hotel she stormed into Ranvijay's suit and decided to call his guards. Even after repeated calling when no one arrived Myra understood the scenario well. Ranvijay's information had been compromised already. Now the only chance that was left to her was to send him back before Xavier or his men arrived.
As she moved away towards the door to open it with Ranvijay behind her a storm came in. The moment she twisted the door knob the door got open and she fell on the ground with a hard punch on her stomach. As she tried to get up two bulky men with pointed guns arrived in the room.
"Bella signora, ti è piaciuto il pugno?"
(Beautiful lady, did you like the punch?) One of the men told her with a smirk.
Ranvijay crouched down to her level to pick her up. Myra's guard was already downstairs to arrange the rest of the things. Now inside the room Myra and Ranvijay were left with two armed men.
One of them told the other man in Italian that their boss told them to get Myra alive. Hearing the conversation while standing at their gun point a plan struck her. She pulled her one gun out and gave that to Ranvijay. As they tried to do something, with a clean roundhouse kick she disarmed one man. The other one was pointing the gun at Ranvijay whereas he was pointing too at that man. The situation seemed like a do or die situation. Either they would kill each other or they would end up in a serious fight. But in the meantime if more of Xavier's men arrive then she won't be able to tackle them down. Ranvijay was running out of his men as he had already sent them with Randhir.
Myra knew either she needed to force Ranvijay to leave this country or he would end up being hurt in this battle without a reason.
She slowly walked towards the man standing in front of Ranvijay.
Keeping a straight face she spoke something in Italian that only they understood. After a few more seconds with more exchange of words the man put down the gun. Myra dropped her gun and raised her hands above as a surrender position. Before Myra could take the situation in a different way two men stormed inside the room and one of them was none but Xavier itself.
The hatred in his eyes, the rage in his attitude drew the blood away from Myra's body. Her face lost all the colours as Xavier found her weakest nerve. Her safe harbour, the love of her life.
"Seems like I am very lucky today." Xavier's devilish smile reached Myra's core of fear. She stood like a statue.
"Xavier. You want your revenge. I am here. What else do you need?"
"I am just thinking what would hurt you most? To see your husband dying or burning alive in front of your eyes or to see your brother burning alive with your family?"
